Hope everything works out for you Santa fighting with DH must be horrible

I agree Mrasha KM constantly being caught out with a cig in her hand is pretty crappy. I kinda respect the fact that she doesn't hide it and pretend to be virtuous and try to say she doesn't smoke but it just looks ugly. Even during my heaviest smoking days, I tried not to be photographed with one in my hand

LinusDKD · 06/12/2013 10:37

Just tried on a gorgeous Céline skirt in a dress agency but it's too big and too long unfortunately.

But for 80 chf I was very tempted to buy it.

That skirt is lovely, shame it doesn't fit you Linus

libertychick · 06/12/2013 12:10

How annoying Linus. But as the MNV mantra goes, if it's not perfect, it's not worth it!

Poor you Santa, moving is such a big decision and horrible when you are feeling under time pressure about it. Could you and DH both write down your feelings about it and your perceived pro's and con's, then share your lists with each other and agree a fixed times to discuss the sticking points one by one. A good strategy is to agree that each person gets 10 or 15 mins to speak with no interruptions from the other so you both get a chance to fully articulate your feelings and views? and just stick to one topic at a time? Sounds a bit contrived but I find it works. And yes come here for distraction!

This morning DD (2.11) announced that she wants to be a big lady and 'wear a handbag and makeup and go to work' - I didn't know whether to be proud or appalled!!

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 12:14

That's cool Liberty. DS told me yesterday that he's got a baby in his tummy Hmm

libertychick · 06/12/2013 12:19

Oh dear Shop - sounds like you might be in for a bit of 'I want a brother' pressure.... V sweet though.

Umlauf · 06/12/2013 12:30

Hello again! liberty your DD sounds adorable! A big lady! At least she wants to go to work Xmas Smile And shop your DS sounds funny! I sort of can't wait for DS to talk and am sort of dreading it. He has already starting rolling over. He's not even 10 weeks FGS!

My Christmas jumper is arriving today, DH has the day off as its a bank holiday here, he will know I've done more shopping, nooo! Why on earth do ASOS deliver on bank holidays?! Especially as I said I would definitely not buy anything else after the JBrand photoready jeans (which still haven't arrived.. Hmm )

libertychick · 06/12/2013 12:38

Try to enjoy each stage Umlauf, I couldn't wait for DD to talk and now she never shuts up!!! I miss having a snuggly baby

QueenCadbury · 06/12/2013 12:44

Well my dd totally embarrassed me today. We were in a shop and the lady serving literally did look like a man in drag- think bleach blonde hair, painted on dark brows, bright pink blusher and loads and loads of eyeliner. Dd points and shouts "mummy, that lady got brown eyes" over and over. I had to try not to laugh and quickly rush her out Grin

QueenCadbury · 06/12/2013 12:45

santa Flowers for you. libertys advice sounds good. It's hard making a big move.

OneLittleLady · 06/12/2013 12:50

That's funny QueenC children's perceptions of things and the resulting comments can be so so funny, even if you can't laugh because it's just not appropriate!

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 13:31

Santa I hate having to do all the grown up planning and chat nowadays. Is it too early for Wine ? I hope it gets resolved soon.
Marsha looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. I keep thinking :( another day alone with DS tomorrow, and then I remember that DH isn't shooting and I'm heading to the city Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/12/2013 13:39

Have you seen the 'Find Faith' campaign on Twitter? Faith is 5 years old and she broke a £2 bauble in John Lewis, Cambridge. So she wrote them the sweetest letter with 2 £1 coins stuck to the note to pay for the damage. Now the store manager has published it and is looking for her to say thanks and give her a treat for her honesty. Lovely Christmas story

OneLittleLady · 06/12/2013 13:41

I saw that on Fb Grumpy I think it's lovely, what a nice, honest child. I hope they find her Smile

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 13:48

I bet the PR agency were rubbing their hands together when they got that letter, and her name was Faith - couldn't be more perfect

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2013 13:54

I just thought of that Mad Men episode where they stage the Christmas ham fight.

Me too Shop!

Liberty, proud, that is very cute.

libertychick · 06/12/2013 13:58

Grin Grin at Shop

Now if it was your DD would you allow her to be found?? I wouldn't...

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2013 14:01

If she's real... Why would you want to find someone. God making me feel grinchy Grin

libertychick · 06/12/2013 14:17

I've had a google (busy today obvs!!), sounds like she is real - the parents apparently contacted JL to say thanks but no thanks!

OneLittleLady · 06/12/2013 14:23

if the parents contacted and said no, i think that's actually quite nice. I think it will teach their DD a valuable lesson tbh. I'm impressed by the fact that the parents din't just turn into grabby hags at the mention of a treat for their DD.

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 14:24

Funny how the marketers are in the Grinch corner Marsha !

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 14:25

If that had been an Argos customer they'd have wanted a 6 figure deal! Grin

shopafrolic · 06/12/2013 14:29

Joking BTW (I was shopping in there yesterday……)

LinusDKD · 06/12/2013 14:36

Just came back from town after a visit to the hairdresser and I didn't buy anything! apart from yummy Swiss Christmas biscuits

It is so hard paying full price when there are such good discounts online and the sales are nearly beginning. I was wiling to spend some money but nothing really make my heart beat faster.

santa I know it is hard to be asked go move for your DH's job, I've been asked twice (so far)

The first time I was asked DH and I weren't married or engaged (had only been together for 1.5 years) and DH had to give them an answer the same night!!!

So in a couple of hours we decided to move to London and I had to give up my job for the first time.

The second time DH didn't really have a choice (company was closing the London office and opening one here) but we did have a bit more time to think about it. So I gave up my job again.

I am expecting another move in the next few years so I am already preparing myself. Sad

If you are in need of a chat, please feel free to pm me.

QueenCadbury · 06/12/2013 14:39

I'm even more cynical and don't actually believe that Faith exists!
