oh oh oh I DO need help. what shall I wear for a xmas meal out this sunday with a group of local mums? most of my wardrobe is on here

www.pinterest.com/yogicaroline/aw-wardrobe/

maybe sequin top with black skinnies and jalouse or nude heels?

or navy jewelled neck dress with opaques and jalouse?

or black 'hitch' dress with jalouse and leather jacket and stacked bangles/bracelets?

HELP

shopafrolic · 05/12/2013 18:09

Sequin top, skinnies and nude heels would be lovely. Or the All Saints bronze top might be warmer?

foxysocks · 05/12/2013 18:10

oh yes I love that top, it's more charcoal/glittery than bronze irl. with skinnies and nude heels. would that be good?

foxysocks · 05/12/2013 18:11

are normal black skinnies a bit - boring? have been considering some coated ones. maybe I should do a panic order?!

shopafrolic · 05/12/2013 18:15

I don't think they're boring - especially with a sparkly top - otherwise might look too dressy for a Sunday? Is it lunch or dinner - what kind of place?

Drywhiteplease · 05/12/2013 18:17

Weeeeelllllllll shop a Liberty card?!!!!!!!!
Sellotape on my new doors ! Xmas Shock
My mother does the ribbon thing, actually a v good idea Shop and v chic too.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/12/2013 18:17

No Foxy, Twas I who got the coat in place of shoes. All the paperwork was for shoes, but it was a coat in the box instead Angry.

But here's the current scenario...

Spoke to J Crew - God, their customer service is truly excellent. The very helpful Lauren is emailing me return paperwork and said I won't need to do anything - she'll send DHL to collect the package. The bad news is the shoes are lost in space with no way of knowing where they are and she can't locate a single other pair, even though she tried (stores etc). But J Crew have offered me two alternatives that she said "don't worry what price it says they are, we'll make sure you're not inconvenienced by this". My options are the Falsetto pump or these suede/satin cuff pumps

Opinions?

LinusDKD · 05/12/2013 18:22

Evening!

I also hate writing cards: Christmas, picture post cards, birth announcements, etc.

I do like receiving them though. Xmas Blush

We also have a dedicated Christmas card pinning ribbon shop! DP's always had one so I just copied them when I had my own home.

foxy it's grumpy who got a coat instead of shoes.

grumpy any success contacting them? J Crew usually has good customer service so fingers crossed.

My J crew order got shipped today so hopefully I will get it next week. Really hope the skirt and shoes are perfect!

I also ordered some black Brora cashmere wristwarmers this week, they looked super toasty.

And I am very tempted to order another Equipment shirt but maybe I should check my cc balance first.

LinusDKD · 05/12/2013 18:24

X-post grumpy

Excellent CS as expected. I prefer the falsetto heels by a mile!

RubyLovesShopping · 05/12/2013 18:25

Grumpy I'm not that struck on either, they just don't look special enough for the price. Why can't they just refund you?

RubyLovesShopping · 05/12/2013 18:27

The ties on the falsetto ones would annoy me alot if they didn't sit symmetrically and the cuff heels I like but not the colour edging. Just wanted to quantify my rather harsh response!

OneLittleLady · 05/12/2013 18:32

I like them both Grumpy but the falsetto ones just edge it for me

shopafrolic · 05/12/2013 18:35

Falsetto for me but only if you LOVE them as much - if not, refund all the way (plus compensation)

LinusDKD · 05/12/2013 18:36

For mig as an alternative for your Dr. Martens

boots

shopafrolic · 05/12/2013 18:36

If you wouldn't have bought them before the issue - don't accept them now…..

Annianni · 05/12/2013 18:49

Not keen on either shoes.
I'd get a refund Grumpy

foxysocks · 05/12/2013 19:06

oh grumpy am so sorry! I have a linus/grumpy interface problem in my brain.

i can't believe they messed up your order. poor you. i like the falsetto - or what about sleep's rose gold lovelies??

it's quite a chilled place shop. everything in bristol is pretty chilled tbh! and we have lots of other escalating costs atm so coated skinnies def not a priority, am going to wear my black ones i think. Flowers thank you x

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/12/2013 19:58

You're right, of course. I think I'll go with the refund - if I found them before, I may just find them again. Neither of the alternatives are perfect, so even though I'd be getting them heavily discounted, I don't love either.

I am so disappointed though. It's just a dufus in packing who thought the stone coloured trench coat in the massive box could easily pass for a pair of red suede high heels. I'll keep an ebay eye out, too.

QueenCadbury · 05/12/2013 20:01

grumpy I adore those falsetto ones but shop is speaking sense...

foxy outfit sounds fab. Don't think you need coated jeans with sparkles.

I'm out in half an hour ( yet sitting on the sofa in dressing gown talking to you lot Hmm). No idea what to wear yet. Still feeling bloated and fat from the weekend.

I am a complete bah humbug about Christmas cards. Can't stand the bloody things! I'm all bout the presents

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/12/2013 20:07

Christmas cards are a bore. And a task I've yet to tackle. Friends, family, customers, suppliers, people I forget even exist except on my Christmas card list...

OneLittleLady · 05/12/2013 20:08

Just been through, trying on all my jeans. I have ten pairs to get rid of, my sister is going to ask her friends if any of them want them. Found my one and only pair of bootcuts and they now fit after being hidden in the drawer for a year because I'd gotten too big for them. Have only kept the jeans that fit, have put everything that is too big or is just unflattering in a pile to be gotten rid of. Feel really pleased that I've been able to find some that fit for now so I don't have to spend any money on interim things Grin

Drywhiteplease · 05/12/2013 20:09

foxy your wardrobe is fantastic. I think.....black skinnies, sequined top,Rick Owens fabby biker jacket.......heels . You'll look amazing whatever mind........
Grumpy gutted for you about the red j crew heels. Can't they trace the coat buyer and get your shoes back. I like the Falsettos a lot but agree that the laces might bother you or come undone. Get a refund or sleeps to dye for rose gold heels I bought Zara copies Wink--

And another thing........I really really hate it when people put glitter or confetti inside a card so it goes everywhere when you open it!!!
I do really really really love Christmas, honest!

I'm having my tea party with 8 friends tomorrow afternoon....have Buck's Fizz, stollen, mince pies and fruit cake ready. linus new roses on my table Wink.... And my collegue (24yrs) was shocked at how ancient I am, she thought I was 43!!!!!!Xmas Grin I looooooooovvvvvveeeeee her I do .

Drywhiteplease · 05/12/2013 20:13

"To die for"

And btw top you're all invited!

And....I'm chuffed ....because of the weather and travel disruption DH has come home and isn't away for 2 nights Grin

OneLittleLady · 05/12/2013 20:15

What? Wait, you're not over 40 ish are you dry? I'm not even trying to be complimentary or suck up, I genuinely thought you were 40 ish

Drywhiteplease · 05/12/2013 20:33

Hehe One bless you, 47 (noooooooooooo) on Sunday! But I'm ok with that......like Joan Collins and my mother I try not to go on about it as I feel and often act a lot younger!
