Hi Springs.
New thread, hopefully, with the following link to our old one....

Early Spring

Nice blouse from BR. I also love the trousers but am trying to avoid spending any real money until I have been on my style day.

I went into a few shops at lunchtime but couldn't find very much in the right colours. I tried on this dress www.whitestuff.com/twisted-tunic-prod408491_avocado/ in white stuff but think it is the wrong shade of green. Actually it is more obviously wrong on the computer than it was in real life IYSWIM.

Joycey29 · 23/01/2014 21:27

Ok help!
Going to friends 30th and DH who moved in with OW three weeks ago is there - on his own. Hasn't a clue what he wants - neither have I!!
Anyway, need dress to wear and don't feel like wearing one from before - any suggestions??

Aquelven · 23/01/2014 23:21

Oh, Joysey, I'm so sorry. That's going to be a tough day/evening & can understand you need to feel your best for your own confidence ( as well as to show him what he's missing !)
I haven't been near the shops so not much help but time is one thing I do have too much of at present( stuck at home) so shall trawl the web!
What did you have in mind?

Those colours in Joules are lovely! As are some shades in Toast but it seems everything they sell is dry clean only!

I think I'm a Clear Spring, although a Cool Summer has come up too, depending on what questionnaire I answer. Colours I look good in are silver grey, bright blue (that Yves Klein colour), pink midway between baby and dusky, mint green, dark brown, apple green. I look awful in yellow, orange, burgundy, does that sound right to you?

A question, oh wise ones, should I be wearing gold or silver jewellery? Or rose gold? Have been left some gold by a relative and want to turn it into something lovely to wear all the time, but am wary if it's not going to look right? Haven't worn jewellery for years, and only wore silver.

BeginnerSAHM · 24/01/2014 12:19

Oh Joycey.... So sorry. I'll have a trawl online too. Bl**dy men...

Marvellous - hmmm - sounds like a total mix to me! You'd need to be properly 'draped' to be sure but does fushia pink or coral suit you better? If you're a spring, coral should look much better, no matter what sub-type! (I'm a clear spring in CMB)

BeginnerSAHM · 24/01/2014 12:22

Joycey - sorry, remind me of your proportions... And are you a natural classic?? xx

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 24/01/2014 13:36

It's baffling me! Rose pink looks lovely, cerise does not. Sky blue and baby blue both lovely, my navy coat looks ok but not as nice. Hair is naturally mousey but hairdressers tell me it has a warm tone, pink cheeks, blue/green eyes. Veins in daylight I think look greenish, but have squinted at them so long I no longer trust myself!

Love the idea of being "properly draped" Grin but too skint!

One questionnaire came up clear spring, another cool summer.

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 24/01/2014 13:37

Sorry, fuchsia pink looks awful, coral better, but rose better still.

Gillybobs · 24/01/2014 14:04

Marvellous if you don't suit yellow it's unlikely you're spring, all our colours are yellow based. If you suit mint green and rose then summer is likely.
Joycey give us a clue what suits you and I'll have a trawl for you. What's been your fave frock in the past?

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 24/01/2014 14:53

I think it's the warm tones in the hair that are foxing me.

Thanks for your help, I must find a summer thread now, this one has helped immensely!

Joycey29 · 24/01/2014 18:10

Ingenue here - though not convinced!
Am 5'4 and now skinny as anything!
Favs from past Chinese style dress in grey with pink flower detail, emerald green sequin dress from Coast.
Thinking of hitting TK Maxx.

Hope things are still good aque.
I'm deliberating over a liberty print right now... Will link below to see what you guys think. Too white?
Other than that my h and m vests have come. They may be a bit autumn...!
How's everyone else doing?

Fooogle · 24/01/2014 21:29

It's this print... Think vintage blouse, skinny jeans, yellow cardi... Maybe

Aquelven · 24/01/2014 22:31

I really like that print, Fooogle, it looks very spring to me.

Things are not too fad thanks. Bit sore but getting there.

I haven't bought much, a couple of cardigans from Woolovers sale, nothing thrilling just brown & grey ones & the tops from Kettlewell.

Aquelven · 24/01/2014 22:32

love the lianna lace dress aquelven has linked to.

foogle. I am not keen on that print for clothes. there doesnt seem to be enough colour for me iyswim.

I would have cushions made out of it though as it is a lovely fabric Grin

Note that I dont do vintage at all though so dont let me put you off.
