thanks I have had a horrible virus, full of cold

I love this thread. have had my hair cut and coloured today so I can look good for the wedding but it will be a struggle.

looking forward to wearing my dress, bought silver sandals. did buy silver cardi but didn't have larger size (typical). jumpers galore but very few dressy cardis. have friends jacket on standby.

alemci · 06/12/2013 18:16

I'm sorry about your dh and nz Joycey. tricky.

may go to primark Aqua, I live in long sleeve t shirts in winter.

Aquelven · 06/12/2013 19:27

Purple, that was the other colour.
Your outfit sounds lovely, Alemci

Fooogle · 06/12/2013 19:54

Hope it works out joycey... Christmas tricky here too.

Wishing you all speedy recoveries. I'm amazed I'm avoiding lurgies so far. No doubt Christmas break I'll succumb!

I could do with new long sleeves aque... Never seem to make it to real shops anymore but I like primark stretchy tops, surprisingly good quality last yeAr...great news with the op', crazy rush though I'm sure!

Am hoping to go to local hoc open evening thing on Monday where I may finally get to try on lippies!

Feeling bit chilly today, green gingham check shirt and golds yellow cardi. Think it's back to big mend cashmere jumpers fir the next few months... Never feel v glam but warm...

Aquelven · 06/12/2013 20:56

Warm is what we need, Fooogle Smile
The open evening sounds interesting, did they say what's involved? Come & tell us what it was like afterwards, won't you?

OP posts:
Gillybobs · 06/12/2013 22:44

Those primark ls tops are fantastic, brilliant layers in the cold and wash as well as any others I've bought.

I appear to have become addicted to the colour grey. I think it's my new black. Thank god for bright scarves and my lippy

Got a great new blusher this week, mac whole lotta pink! it's a proper kapow pink and really lasts well so I'm imaging the little pot should last ages. Link below

Gillybobs · 06/12/2013 22:44

Imagining. Not imaging. Sigh

Gillybobs · 06/12/2013 22:45

Joycey stay strong my lovely x

EustaciaVye · 07/12/2013 06:57

Good to get the op out of the way Aquelven
Sorry about DH Joycey. That must be a big disappointment.

I bought a black leather biker jacket yesterday. I know I am meant to stay away from black but it is lovely Grin

Today I plan to wear blue denim skinnies, black boots, charcoal t-shirt with big sequin heart on it (dd's love it) and a bright scarf to zing it up a bit. I have to be practical as it is dd's birthday party.

Fooogle · 08/12/2013 07:14

Hope party was a success eustacia. Outfit sounds cool. You've succumbed to the leather jacket Xmas Grin seems often a week spot with us lot! Where's it from?

I don't seem to look to good in grey... It's a great neutral though so Xmas Envy those that it suits.

Are you all christmas shopping?

Mumelie · 08/12/2013 08:02

Morning Springs! Well Christmas is up in our house - spent all yesterday cleaning and moving furniture to fit the tree in the sitting room. The spare room is now full of boxes, chairs and a table so hope no one wants to stay! All worth it though as looks lovely. Grin

Bit of Christmas shopping in order for today with DD - nearly finished that but don't have very many to buy for.
I love the leather jacket look too! I have a mid grey biker, a navy pleather biker and a black leather blazer. No good for me at this time of year as I'm too cold! Great for a night out though.
No idea what I'm wearing today as yet. Still struggling with fit a bit as those few ibs gained while I was poorly are still hanging around and may have invited friends along! Sad Must watch
it this week else party dress will be too tight come Friday Shock

Mumelie · 08/12/2013 08:04

and lots of luck for your op Aque - hope that goes well and you are on the mend for the spring.
Big hugs to you Joycey - hope you manage to work your Christmas out with DH xx

EustaciaVye · 08/12/2013 08:26

Biker jacket was from Wallis. It is v nice Smile Got it in Bhs 30% off sale. Will mostly wear it for going out in evenings I think.

aprilmay · 08/12/2013 09:56

Morning everyone.

Still in pyjamas here. Navy though, so scored some spring points! Wink

Hope you're ok Joycey.

Does anyone know what will be in fashion next year? I've seen lots of pastels so far - not feeling inspired!

EustaciaVye · 08/12/2013 14:17

Today I am wearing navy t-shirt, navy/cream scarf and jeans.

This thread has made me think I need a clearout of things I shouldn't own so plan to do that over Christmas.

alemci · 08/12/2013 14:43

wedding was great, fab hotel etc, glad I borrowed a jacket as expensive cardigan shoulder seam split after trying on onceConfused .

pleased I had chosen the boden dress as it will be worn again as it is more versatile than an evening dress.

Aquelven · 08/12/2013 15:09

Glad you enjoyed the wedding. You can return the expensive cardigan surely? Not fit for purpose & all that.

Oh, I love leather biker jackets, yours sounds a terrific buy, Eustacia. Been busy Christmas shopping & wrapping presents, good job I don't have very many to buy for.
Wearing black jeans, turquoise cashmere jumper, Tesco last year, & grey jacket/fleece thing.
Thank you for all the good wishes re op Smile

Hello all
Hope you've had good weekends.

Odd question...is there a style type thing in relation to patterns? Or even scale of patterns? I am never sure if I can 'get away' with a larger print other than ditsy liberty ones... Anyone shed any light?!

Off to this open hoc over tomorrow hopefully. Shall be trying geranium red and brick unless you tell me otherwise ;-)
I have warm mousey hair (used to be v fair when young)...strong medium blue eyes if any of you lovely people are similar...

Enjoy your jacket eustacia. I bought a tan one years ago I love and a peachy one this year I like too

Aquelven · 08/12/2013 20:18

What style are you, Fooogle? Sorry, can't remember if you've already said.
My consultant said, for me as an ing nat, to look for soft patterns, dirt of swirly or small flowered things. To avoid big flowers or anything geometric or spiky looking. Of course, the only dress I had to take to show her was a black & white wrong spiky, geometric printed one. Still with tags on, not cheap either! Sad

OP posts:
Aquelven · 08/12/2013 20:19

Dirt of swirly???? Grin sort of swirly

12Blueprints

Does anyone know what HoC Blue Spring translates to on there?
Was reading the other, neutral thread, & Gilly & Beginner seem to know quite a bit about this so was wondering if they could tell us?
Are there any relevant pages you could link to? I tried doing a search but don't think I was asking the right questions & it all got very confusing.

OP posts:
BeginnerSAHM · 08/12/2013 23:00

Hi Aquelven - dunno, sorry!! I think there aren't direct matches but Gilly knows way more than me about the unicorn lady...Wink.

However, I'm either a blue spring or a bright spring in HoC - not sure but am definitely a bit more neutral than really warm. And can wear some winter-ish colours. I think people don't always fall cleanly into one category or another - they kind of 'flow' into different 'sub-seasons' (or even cross seasons a bit).

Gilly will explain it much better.

BeginnerSAHM · 08/12/2013 23:01

Sorry Aquelven - meant to add my best wishes for the op! Good to get it done, I reckon. (Then again, I'm massively impatient and want to get things done as soon as I've decided to do them...Blush)

Hope it's not too painful and that you have a speedy recover.

Aquelven · 08/12/2013 23:17

Thanks beginner. Am raring to get it done now, just want to be through it & back with two normal feet.
I can understand about the glowing bit, I find I can wear pale blue which is not on our swatches, any blue really, & lilacs & more pinks, better than the tans & orangish colours that we have. Even black looks ok if I add something to zing it up a bit.

OP posts:
Aquelven · 08/12/2013 23:18

Flowing not glowing. Rarely glowing Grin
