Hi Springs.
New thread, hopefully, with the following link to our old one....

Early Spring

Oh I love those boots in the navy. Perhaps as well my size 4 1/2 is out of stock as I'm still struggling to get one foot into boots I bought new last year still with labels on Confused. But what a bargain!

You're doing better than me Fooogle. I'm in black jeans, grey top & black cardigan.

OP posts:
Fooogle · 03/12/2013 18:23

aque I just don't really hAve any black clothes anymore so can't fall back on them!

another eBay coat came today... Jaeger one. Navy. May be bit 80s...why don't I just buy a proper coat!

alemci · 03/12/2013 19:07

I have black skirts and trousers and they are easy to match up. Also boots and shoes.

Fooogle · 03/12/2013 19:54

Yes, kind of wishing I hAd some black things sometimes combining stuff with navy or brown is just a pain!

Looking at brick, geranium red or soft coral hoc lippies. Any tips? I'd say I'm the warmer side of spring if anyone else is ?( was CMB d not hoc d!)

Aquelven · 03/12/2013 20:12

I bought the Geranium Red.
My consultant had left me in that one at the end, she knew I was very sceptical!
Kept looking at it in the rear view mirror on the way home all really empty country roads honest & rang her as soon as I got home to order it. She'd convinced me!
Not tried those others. I love the Spring bright pink but it was in the sale & discontinued now Sad

OP posts:
Mumelie · 03/12/2013 21:21

I really like the Geranium red - often wear this for a night out. Also have Smooth soft coral and Bright Red which I wear often. I did buy the shocking pink but wasn't so keen - think I need to try it again without a tan as I found it too pale on me in the summer.
Today I wore my navy Wallis skater dress with oatmeal and tan flowers, navy Boden cropped cardi and tan Bertie boots. bright lippie (Revlon candy apple). No scarf as it felt mild today.
Just bought some chocolate brown knee boots from Jones (cant link as on phone) - Classic riding style with gold zips on outside. Think they'll be worn for years and are a good replacement for Black boots. Must stop spending on me - Christmas coming up!

butterfliesandflowers · 03/12/2013 22:33

Hi All, I've not been up to much of interest recently except placing a 30% off Boden order - will keep at least half so a good haul and getting 2 new red lippies!

I have magic disappearing lips and a lot of lipsticks just don't show up, but Dior Trafalgar is great! Revlon Rich Girl Red almost disappears but will be good for summer / school run!

For those talking about cardigans, I have heard good things about woolovers ,and have just bought a lovely cropped cashmere from Boden!

Welcome Eustacia, how did you do with the style day? were yu given a style type like HoC? eg ingénue / gamine etc?? I too am 14 bottom and 16 top - but only to get around my ample chest, I am a bit taller though!

Aquelven · 03/12/2013 23:09

I'm the same size too!
Woolovers are very good quality. I've got a couple of the lambs wool ones. The big, cosy hoodies, vey, very warm & wash well.

OP posts:
EustaciaVye · 04/12/2013 08:14

lovely boots! They didnt have my size.

Butterflies - I wasnt given a name for my style. I think she said my body was an inverse triangle. I'll dug out the book and remind myself.

BeginnerSAHM · 04/12/2013 15:22

Hello Springs,

I'm on the hunt for a stylish Spring/Natural-Ingenue work bag for a fairly conservative suity job.... Am thinking of maybe getting a tan tote bag (must be able to fit laptop and papers in so needs to be fairly large). Would LOVE a backpack for practical reasons but that's not smart enough.

See a nice on in Reiss, called 'Joyce', but that's £285 Shock and it's not that nice.... Let me know if you see anything on your travels! Thank you!

Mumelie · 04/12/2013 17:50

Hi Beginner - I have this from Peony and Moore as my work bag. Not sure its big enough for your laptop but is a lovely bag.

Aquelven · 04/12/2013 18:11

Kipling?
I have a few, very strong, great organisation & you can wash them to keep them looking like new. Lots of colours.
This one has laptop protection in it

Or this is a good size, the blue is lovely & there's grey amongst others.

Hi all, love this thread! Another vote for Woolovers - fab quality and v reasonably priced. I'd check sizing though before ordering as I find they come up quite large.

I'm thinking about saving up for the style day. Although I'm confident what shapes/cuts suit me I'd be interested to explore the other bits - accessories, patterns, jewellery types etc. Pretty convinced I've got Natural in there somewhere, as I do spend rather a lot of time in jeans/outdoor clothes and pyjamas loungewear. I'm shortish and hourglass curvy, so maybe a natural romantic...or vice versa?

Fooogle · 04/12/2013 20:01

temple beam and trade fair in dark chocolate in clarks sale just now? Leather ones... Not utterly sure they're fantastic but great price!

Fooogle · 04/12/2013 20:02

Sorry, those are bags beginner!

Fooogle · 04/12/2013 20:05

Ok, so geranium red hoc lipstick is popular (though is it a bit punchy for day?)... Any others? Soft coral a maybe...

BeginnerSAHM · 04/12/2013 20:10

Thanks mumelie, aquevelen and fooogle!! All great ideas. Particularly keen on the Peony and Moore bags - which is annoying as they're the most expensive!! Hmmm....

Mumelie · 06/12/2013 15:12

bumping this thread as we seem to be dying!
So I bought these chocolate brown riding boots (as my Spring alternative to black) and am stuck for colours to go with - any help? Look great with dark indigo jeans but I'm thinking for work - what colour dresses, Cardi and tights? I don't own brown anything else.
Not spring like at all today - mustard and black say no more!

Mumelie · 06/12/2013 15:13

Oh what bag did you go for beginner?

alemci · 06/12/2013 15:15

hi mumelie

been ill and haven't been too focused on colours. love reading about other people's purchases.

BeginnerSAHM · 06/12/2013 15:27

Hi mumelie and alemci,

Sorry you've been I'll alemci... Hope you're getting better. Am full of cold myself.

Mumelie - haven't bought a work bag yet. I need to wait until I get a contract to sign but think I should be starting work again in January some time. Loving the Peony & Moore site though....

Glad this thread hasn't died. Yet! Wink

Aquelven · 06/12/2013 16:07

Hope you're soon feeling better Alemci

Good job you bumped us Mumelie Smile
I've been guilty of not posting cos I've been dashing about like a madwoman, trying to get all the Christmas shopping & preparations done, only have four days! I had my last foot op booked for the end of January but I got a phonecall from the hospital, day before yesterday, saying they can now fit me in next week if I want to. So I said yes, as it means I'll be back on my feet that much quicker, hopefully back to virtual normal come early spring, wearing proper shoes & able to finally start getting my big garden back to some sort of order. Not to mention be in time to hit the shops for Spring stuff Grin

While I was in town this morning I called into Primark & bought seven long sleeved, scoop necked tops, the ones with stretch, in Spring colours. Thought they'd go under cardigans etc to inject a bit of the right colours till I can get time to have a proper look round. At £3.50 each, substantially cheaper than Kettlewell. I got coral, cream, brown, teal, bright blue, light grey & another I've forgotten without going to look in the car where all the presents I bought are still hiding from the family.

Sorry been busy stressing. DH is thinking of not joining us in NZ for Xmas. Feeling wiped by the thought if a Xmas without him.
Spring coloured top not even helping!

BeginnerSAHM · 06/12/2013 16:35

Oh dear Joycey. Hope he changes his mind. Not sure how you are feeling or how things stand between you and DH but thinking of you and hoping things become a lot less stressful for you soon.

Aquelven · 06/12/2013 17:04

Oh, I'm so sorry, Joysey. Hope he changes his mind.
Didn't realise you were in NZ.
