Coats wise I am shopping my wardrobe this year. I got rid of afore mentioned duvet as was sick of it and only wore that (as it was so warm) so I have a few to wear this winter, including a black leather jacket I haven't worn enough.

I have got this coat but was thinking of getting it shortened so it is mid thigh length and then more of a car coat style like this but don't know how possible that will be.

Love WIT's outfit here

Turquoiseblue · 03/09/2013 12:11

www.theoutnet.com/product/382196 queencadbury this is a bit of a show stopper ! Would this suit your style?

MarshaBrady · 03/09/2013 12:14

Love that coat MrsR, great idea to get it shortened. WIT is fab. Good outfit too.

Umlauf yes do the clothes thing! Can be a good way to see what you like if after you pin it you still like it.

Sleep love that hair colour, very pretty.

Santa I would like a different version of the Marant one, longer and another pattern. Both are really nice.

AmberNectarine · 03/09/2013 12:14

Love the tiger top need, v cool!

Umlauf I love a good skirt - am wearing v old M&S one I dug out today that has PVC trim. V of the moment! I'd call that skirt style a sort-of-fishtail. I like that look too, though not sure it would flatter my generous rump. Tube skirts are surely post-natal essentials!

carrie74 · 03/09/2013 12:27

Thanks shop, PM received :)

A bit busy at work (and had a fab long day out yesterday with the kids to celebrate last day of summer. Although I'm looking forward to getting back into the routine, I'm also quite sad about limited time with them again. And winter).

Um, outfits we were wearing when first met? No idea - we met at work, so would have been suits for both of us.

Bad looks for men - agree with all above. HATE football shirts in particular. Unfortunately, H has a pair of crocs that he wears all summer [weep], but replaced them at Easter with crocs that look a bit smarter - can't find them online, but they're a massive improvement. Unfortunately, when he broke his leg, he could only fit into the original crocs.

Got to dash back to work though...

shopafrolic · 03/09/2013 12:46

it's a keeper just perfect!
Tried it with black coated skinnies and LKB shoe boots - really lovely. Super warm, has a slightly odd smell to it Hmm but am hoping a good airing will sort that out!?

Hello...

Have just one out of three at home with me today...eldest two back to school...I do miss them as we've had a great summer...massively busy, though. No less than 5 birthdays during the summer hols in our house!

Just back from a weekend in London - I do love London. First time our three (7, 6 and 3) have been and they were very impressed with Trafalgar Square, The Natural History Museum and The London Eye.

All the sights, and I got to go into some beautiful interior shops (Skandium my fave!). Also love the Wolf showroom.

I'm in a quandry with this weather though. Back to school usually signifies a change in my wardrobe too, but weather too hot!

Grumpy - I met my DH in 1989 too! Decam - yes, think we have similar taste. My style was very similar...still love preppy/sloaney look, albeit with an edge.

Dauphin · 03/09/2013 12:55

P.S. my DH loathes my combats...aw bless.

Dauphin · 03/09/2013 12:57

Shop - I love that swaeter.

I am looking for a funnel neck sweater for AW...anyone seen anything?

OneLittleLady · 03/09/2013 13:29

I think I've worked out my route to the MU! As long as I get on the right tube, I'll be fine Grin If I don't appear though, do send out a search party, I'll be the one wandering round with a very confused look on her face and bright purpley/red hair Grin

needastrongone · 03/09/2013 13:47

turquoise - that dress you linked is simply fabulous.

I have a bit of a downer on babies in football outfits too if I am being honest.

Ok, will start the pinterest thing more seriously, my picture is linked to Facebook so will be a photograph of a pony pulling his lips back and revealing all his teeth, it's DD's pony, he does this all the time (weirdo) before you all think that I am strange...

Today's bargain of the day arrived.

Although, I was quite tempted by these.

I have bought nothing from M&S for years apart from (lots of) food and school uniform and so I am surprised to find things I like all of a sudden Smile

needastrongone · 03/09/2013 13:56

My next job is to figure out short links Smile

Sleepwhenidie · 03/09/2013 15:21

Leave a gap at the end of the address you've pasted then write one or two words strongone - then put the ]]. Smile

Am sat with head full of foils and colour on the non foiled bits . This really is going to be quite a change! Have been persuaded away from fringe as it would look odd being blonde and main head of hair darker, so middle parting and some blonde bits at the front, kind of like this but more caramel. I might be very unpopular at home later Hmm

OneLittleLady · 03/09/2013 15:24

I wish I could go blonde but it reaaaaaaaallllllly doesn't suit me. Had it once and I looked even more ghost like than usual. My dreams of long curly blonde hair have been firmly shattered Sad

needastrongone · 03/09/2013 15:54

I look horrid with blonde hair too, I have dark brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. I have had blonde hair in the past though...why or why I now ask myself?

Ahh.. links like this?

Yummy skirt

QueenCadbury · 03/09/2013 16:29

Last day of the hols so I let dc choose what to do. We've been to see despicable me again. Love that film!

Thanks for all the dress links mrsR, there are some gorgeous ones there. For those of you that missed the previous link, this is the dress that I have bought. Dh hasn't seen it yet but likes it online. I tried it on again today and i think it's a keeper. Think I'm just scared of committing so many weeks early. In some ways I'd prefer black as it's more versatile in the future but it just won't look quite as stunning as the blue colour.

Coat wise I'll be wearing this again for the third winter. Would love a new one but i can't really justify it when this is absolutely fine. There's too many other things I'd rather spend £300 on! I also have a black peacoat for smarter occasions which was bought in gap in New York 10 years ago when we got engaged. Still love it though.

For whoever asked about dc, mine are 7, 5 ( nearly 8 and 6) and 2. The 7 yo wants an iPod for her birthday and looked at them today but didn't realise they were so pricey. Any of yours of similar ages have one? The dc already have an old iPad (with a cracked screen) to share so not sure I'm keen to get her one.

Bought a gunmetal leather belt today in JL but can't find a link online along with a skylanders lunchbox!

QueenCadbury · 03/09/2013 16:30

Will look at all the other links properly later!

Drywhiteplease · 03/09/2013 16:46

Survived!Grin they're all so little!
Needsa I have teens too....also in Yorkshire.
Unlauf I'm having a skirt moment too, love them, but I'm fussy....need to be able to sit on floors and have pockets.
Santa thanks for the kind comment, I'll still be around though!
Shop I LOVE that jumper...see you have proven my theory that if you know what you want you eventually find it.

Wore my M and S leopard print slippers today...love love love them......tempted to but the black and red too, great price.

Came home to carnage......family room carpet, floor up...furniture all over the place! Cables and bits of cables in almost every room......and random workmen popping up in every room. Good job I have lots of rocky road for them.....don't think it's been an easy job!

QueenCadbury · 03/09/2013 17:24

Nice looking workmen I hope dry?

OneLittleLady · 03/09/2013 17:31

The only workmen I've ever seen have been wrinkled old men with pot bellies and serious builders bum Hmm

I hope you got lucky with the workmen dry Grin

OneLittleLady · 03/09/2013 17:31

Lucky as in they were good looking, nothing else! Blush

Drywhiteplease · 03/09/2013 17:39

No builders bum here, just great Yorkshire blokes happy with lots of tea and cake.

Annianni · 03/09/2013 17:43

Did someone mention workmen?! :o
phwoar...

Qc the dress link doesn't work on my phone, have you pinned it?
Or what's the style name?

Coats for a/w, I've got a dark green peacoat that I got last year and barely wore, because I lived in my parka that I also got last year.
Also got a black thin waterproof number.
A green 3/4 sleeve one that I want to dye.
And a chocolate duvet coat from Gap for really cold days.
Also got the same duvet coat in black in a smaller size, and various others that are too small too Hmm

I'd quite like a grey one this year, or maybe the dark red one from Cos.

Who was asking about dc ages?
My ds's are 9 and 2.
Dsd lives with us and is 16.

Our first day back at school was lovely and quiet.
We went to see a friends new horse.
It's an ex racehorse and so pretty.
Very soft too, Ds2 was sat on her back.

Dauphin · 03/09/2013 18:17

We have nice builders too...genuine and pleasant. No phwoar factor but that's okay as long as they do the job well. (I must be getting old!)
