50 doesn't work - 30 does. Why oh why don't they have the black with brown straps?? Weeps

OP posts:
Annianni · 09/09/2013 16:10

They were the ones that I tried in the Matches sale Shop, they are lovely.

Have you tried 40?

Annianni · 09/09/2013 16:11

I tried Spirals MrsR and they looked awful on me.
They made my legs look stumpy.
And i'm 5'7 so not exactly short.

Decameron · 09/09/2013 16:19

SHOEACCESS40 doesn't work. Was going to reorder with the slightly better code but not worth it for the sake of £17!

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2013 16:22

Liberty DS (14) had "teddy" . I bought him on a business trip when I had that life in Brussels when I was pregnant. Teddy is my third child. He's had two ear transplants and a haute couture onsie made by The House Of Dry to keep his stuffing from coming out. He's very flat. We lost him one Christmas .[Sad] He came back in a padded envelope with 3 Quality Street Incase he got hungry.[Grin] We loved that kind lady jeez I'm welling up, obv still traumatised and it was about 8 yrs ago!!! Grin occasionally I get poor neglected Teddy out of the toy box and give him a hug. When DS has flown the nest I'll hang onto him!!!

Thanks all for your advice on black and brights. QueenC lovely pins. Mig you're right, if I love it then whatever, but I also don't want to look dated not easy in my work place and Amber I do value your opinion too, you always look great on your blog.

I have just almost had a fashion induced cardiac arrest!Shock I ordered
these boots and they just arrived. Even lovelier in RL but too small Sad. Worse still the 5.5 was almost impossible to get hold of,getting a 6 ......Sad . 4 phone calls later I ended up calling the one store in the country, HoF Bluewater (where the heck is that??) who had the one and only pair according to Dune CServices....and they had them! Bloody love the kind sales assistant at Dune in HoF Bluewater! They're on their way Grin

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2013 16:37

Amber I like your outfits, but you know what you could do with to go with the Wang skirt?...... A fushia pink top Grin runs away .............

Annianni · 09/09/2013 16:55

I've been to Bluewater Dry, it's over Essex way.
I had my first ever krispy creme donut there

Annianni · 09/09/2013 16:58

Fab blog today Amber, those vests are lovely.

mignonette · 09/09/2013 17:10

Well done Dune. Great service.

Anni I am beside myself with sorrow that Krispy Kreme no longer sell their creme filled doughnut- It looked like it had cellulite but was the food of greedy angels. DD bought me a lemon curd and creme filled one but it lacks the 'purity' of the creme only version.

I am frozen into position here. The stone Kitchen floor that was so lovely in the heat of the Summer is now freezing my feet off through my shoes. It is very Autumnal here.

OneLittleLady · 09/09/2013 17:15

I've only had krispy Kreme once and it was amazing but I have to try and avoid food like that as it does me no favours Sad

mignonette · 09/09/2013 17:23

Does anybody else on here suffer from Clothing Regressional Syndrome?

Whenever I don an item of clothing in plaid/tartan I get an uncontrollable urge to listen to Nirvana or Guns N Roses, drape myself all over the furniture in a sulky, indolent Ennui'd kind of manner and howl along to 'Estranged' or 'Feels Like Teen Spirit'.

Or is it just me?

mignonette · 09/09/2013 17:26

PS - Dear Son appalled to catch his Mother dancing round the kitchen to New Gold Dream by Simple Minds. Tried to pretend I was walking in a funny manner but no dice.....Blush

OneLittleLady · 09/09/2013 17:26

I never stopped doing that Mig I am an eternal teenager, I even look disgustingly young despite hitting thirty this year Grin

mignonette · 09/09/2013 17:37

I always did look much younger-people would be fifteen years out on my age but this last year has aged me visibly I think. Not in my head though!

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2013 17:43

Ummmm....no Mig!!!Grin
However...I was watching In A League of Their Own with my teens the other day....a repeat of the one with One Direction of course Tony Hadley came on and I joined in singing True with Flintoff v loudly and word perfect!! My DCs were Hmm ....."who's he?".... Looked like a fat middle aged Dad to them!!!!!

Btw Mig was it you who suggested my dark khaki dress, black tights animal slippers combo? Am going to give it a whirl tomorrow, quite out of my comfort zone, would normally do black feet.................

OneLittleLady · 09/09/2013 17:43

I seem to have done really well in terms of not looking my age. I am frequently asked for ID. I don't use fancy products or have any fancy skin care routine, I must just be lucky. I have a tiny little crinkle under each eye but I've had that all my life. I have absolutely no lines, wrinkles, age spots or anything. I get teenagery spots sometimes which I think make me look even younger but I count my blessings as all my brothers and sisters either look their ages or a lot older than they are. 9 out of 10 people we see think my younger sisters are older than me Grin

QueenCadbury · 09/09/2013 17:49

amber I'm loving the bright lips now and look half dead without it! I tend to apply with my fingertips so it's still fairly subtle although I did go out on Saturday night in full on red. I know what you mean though about the dc-mine often go to school/nursery with lipstick all over their faces!

Well done on the shoe hunt dry. Bluewater's in Kent.

Music wise I'm stuck in an 80/90s time warp and often have absolute 90s blaring out in the kitchen. Dd1 despairs of my singing. It truly is dreadful whereas she has a beautiful voice!

QueenCadbury · 09/09/2013 17:52

Oh and today I'm wearing navy short sleeved top, cerise cardigan, jeans and navy converse. Was freezing this morning but boiling now. I don't like this weather where it changes throughout the day. It must be getting cold though as I've started wering my slippers in the house again!

shopafrolic · 09/09/2013 17:55

Gorgeous shoe boots Dry glad the persistence paid off.

Loads of stuff to catch up on. Quicky, thanks Shop for Cocosa heads up. I think I missed them.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2013 18:01

MrsR that leather trim peacoat is divine!

Grumpy I love those M Dutti things too. I had a Ralph Lauren one with buckles a few years ago. I remember feeling a million dollars when I bought it from Liberty, it was quite swish for me. Sadly it has moth holes. .

Dry how lovely are those boots!

Decam great news on the chestnut pistols. The code is great.

santamarianovella · 09/09/2013 18:06

grumpy your mrs poppy story made me Grin Grin, its brilliant! im using it when dd is a bit older.

mig wish my parents were as creative as you!, i had a blanket when i was a child, took it with me everywhere ,could never go to sleep without it,and my mum "forgot" to pack it when we moved ,she told me that its never coming back and that i should grow out of it! i was 6 Sad

dry thats great customer service!

mignonette · 09/09/2013 18:11

Queen My sister and I sound like we are being murdered when we sing. DD has a beautiful voice. She didn't inherit it from me. My Fathers dog once tried to tear sisters head off when she sang 'Don't cry for me Argentina' at him. We had to make allowances as he was provoked and terrified by the unearthly wailing emitting from her mouth.

Dry I'm not sure if that was me but I like the outfit you are planning. It sounds like something I'd say but might not have been me.

santa Ouch that's harsh Sad. My parents were of the short sharp shock ilk too.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2013 18:13

Aw Santa that is harsh. I had a teddy for a really long time!

Anni love those coats, do you know which one you'll go for?

Liberty love your outfit, not surprised you got loads more followers.

I liked the running/ marathon chat, I'm running too atm. I go in stages depending on how much free time I have. I need to go a certain number of times a week for it to be worthwhile.

mignonette · 09/09/2013 18:16

The only activities I have ever been interested in are dancing, riding and sexual intercourse Grin.

I might run if my Manolo's rolled down a hill.

That's about it really.
