amber I actually salivated at your bag choice this week. Also wanted to say how lovely the red lipstick looks on you. Really makes your face come alive. Love you in the purple top too. I can really see how you're a sultry winter.

needastrongone · 09/09/2013 13:03

mignonette - thanks. I actually have 'O' and 'Flowerbomb', the latter I love and am wearing today. I might ask DH to get the Chanel scent, it's such a long time since I have worn Chanel of any kind. Quite often, I ask DH to take pot luck and he usually gets it right but for this trip, I fancied asking for something specific.

mignonette · 09/09/2013 13:13

Need I'm wearing Flowerbomb too Grin. If your DH asks the Chanel assistants, thely'' point him in the direction of their Les Exclusifs' range which has some delicious daytime scents. The Hermes orange scented perfume is beautiful and I have heard good things about the La Perla scent and the new Vera Wang. I bought the Summer Azarro EDT for my step daughter and the Bulgari Au The Verte here. The Jo Malone 'White Lilac and Rhubarb' is unusual and fresh- I tried it at Terminal 5 and liked it here.

santamarianovella · 09/09/2013 13:16

mom I liked some of Jason wu ss14 looks, but nothing else stood out, NYFW is never that exciting, everyone wants to dress like Olivia Palermo, and most of the big names,de la renta et al are just repeating their previous designs.
,in my opinion London and Paris fashion weeks are the best, both on and off the runway, can't wait for that!

liberty can't believe someone would do that! Your poor dd, love the things you ordered,

dry, I love the sound of your outfit, neon and black is a great combo, used to shy away from it,but i see great examples of wearing brights with black, specially pants with silk bright tops,it all depends on the style of the pants, and the top you are wearing,

needastrongone at the moment I'm loving bottega venta perfume, very light ,and it lasts all day.
I want a tartan skirt too,or a leather one,can't decide,need to think about it.

AmberNectarine · 09/09/2013 13:22

It is a nice bag QueenC, it might be the one. I do like the red lipstick, I just don't wear it enough for fear of plastering the kids! Should wear it more for work as it does suit me. How are you getting on with your brighter lip colours?

libertychick · 09/09/2013 13:32

needastrongone I should have said it would be GNR 2014!! Not a chance of being ready for this year! I probably need to go right back to 'couch to 5k' level. I walk a lot too so I am reasonably fit but I am missing feeling strong and the buzz you get from exercising hard. I have signed up for a weekly yoga class to get back into that and start working on my core again.

QueenC I have a weak back too - and had SPD in pregnancy - only one pregnancy though - I may not be able to run but we'll see how it goes. Sounds like good advice re DD - I will try that tonight.

Migon you made me laugh with the idea of a naked travelling teddy story - we may have to do that!!

What are you all wearing today? I am in black loafers, black opaques, grey H&M skirt, black print silk blouse, my very old black Zara blazer and a red and black pashmina as a scarf as the office is freezing. Feels like the first proper day of A/W sartorially speaking Smile

mignonette · 09/09/2013 13:46

The stories we weave for our children Liberty. And they love a bit of naughtiness don't they? I used to make one up about a naughty little Light-Fairy who used to 'steal' the daylight to take to her own land where they had none as DD was so scared of the dark. I got tired of lighting the upstairs like a city office so made this story up. It kind of worked but got so convoluted, fantastical and caused so much dissonance w/ the scientist within me that I tapered it off Grin. Naked Teddy sounds a better bet.

I like that print blouse Liberty. That's right up my sartorial street.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 09/09/2013 13:57

mig My DH invented 'Mrs Poppy Hopkins' who telephones when she hears children are being naughty. She lives at the workhouse and is always looking for new recruits...I don't think canny DD2 was ever really taken in by that one!

Bought a few bits today and will see what they're like. All from Massimo Dutti, nothing terribly exciting but seem quite smart

velveteen trousers in navy
navy aran cape
black silk shirt

Annianni · 09/09/2013 14:15

I've tried the check coat today and it's nothing special.
I tried the grey cocoon again and I'm between sizes, the smaller size is snug on the bottom half and the bigger size has too much fabric round the top and I resemble a wrestler.

Tried a lovely navy swing coat that's 150.
I did take a photo, but accidentally deleted it when I'd left.
But I think it wouldn't look nice with my Jenny's, it looked nice with neon pink ballet flats though.

They had the 3/4 sleeve one I liked in black (i like the grey) and it's quite slim cut irl so it's put me off a bit.
It looks more cocoon like online.

They have a lovely black one Liberty, where the bottom half is a different fabric.
And the red one's lovely IRL.

I think I'll order the burgundy to try later.

mignonette · 09/09/2013 14:17

Grumpy Now that's my kind of a 'Gothic' kids tale. Kind of channelling Struwelpeter, Hansel and Gretel and the great Dark European traditions.

I like your choices. That shirt and ashes of roses velveteen pants would look good together. I recall La Moss wearing something similar only her pants were a kind of cire fabric-they had a sheen. It looked very casual chic and perfect for dressing up or down.

Annianni · 09/09/2013 14:18

Love that cape Grumpy.

mignonette · 09/09/2013 14:20

Anni Yes, what the editorial/lookbook photos don't show you is the back of the model. Those coats will be cinched w/ huge bulldog clips to get the fit perfect and so when we try them on, they don't hang as well as they appear to in the photos.

i liked the paler grey and the burgundy coat BTW.

Decameron · 09/09/2013 14:22

That's so mean that someone took Glenda, Liberty!

Shop, 25% off at my-wardrobe on shoes, I've just ordered the chestnut pistols.

I am in Paige Hoxton jeans, red R&B quilted ballet flats and navy Me & Em top. Not terribly exciting. It's quite chilly.

I love that shirt, Grumpy.

Decameron · 09/09/2013 14:23

Sorry Shop, forgot to give you the code: shoeaccess25

Annianni · 09/09/2013 14:33

I love the name Glenda.
All our teddies have boring names like brown bear, and daddy bear.

Annianni · 09/09/2013 14:35

completely ignoring Decameron's post with the shoe discount

[Finger's in ears I'm not listening]

mignonette · 09/09/2013 14:36

We only have PurpleTed. Who is of course, Purple. Plus a nameless Kiwi and Potato Lady.

OneLittleLady · 09/09/2013 14:37

I have a polar bear teddy from build a bear who I named Jeff Grin

Decameron · 09/09/2013 14:41

Sorry Anni!

MrsRadicchio · 09/09/2013 14:44

I'm in a casual outfit of grey chinti and parker top, dyed purple chinos, liberty print nike high tops, with liberty lined barbour jacket for outside.

Yes, it is removing the clothes from the teddy that makes it really Confused I think. V odd and a bit scary!!

Just tried my ash spiral on and I'm not sure about them anymore. They seem a bit delicate on my foot. Look v small and a bit trotter like! I think the low cut on the front doesn't suit my leg. Anyone else got them?

Liked your post today Amber those tops are nice.

anni shame about the coats, hope the burgundy one works out.

I think this coat is a thing of beauty.

I love those boden heart jeans, so cute!

Mig good advice about shoes lifting black trousers. I love bright/ statement shoes.

libertychick · 09/09/2013 15:23

Oh my lord - from pinning today's outfit I have acquired 28 new pin followers!!!!
Most of our teddies have very boring names - Glenda was named in honour of the person who gave her to DD. DH's older relatives all have fabulous pre war sounding names like Wilma, Hilda, Bert etc love them!

MrsR I love that coat ...I'm moving away from the Burberry/Carven idea...I really can't afford it especially as waiting for the Tube in the rain today reminded me that I need something warm and waterproof too - my old Warehouse parka very looks tatty....I'm thinking now that for winter I need one smart wool coat, one heavy weather coat, biker jacket and get rid of all the other old tat that taking up space in my wardrobe.

Annianni · 09/09/2013 15:49

On another thread, it says SHOEACCESS30
gets 30% off at my wardrobe!

shopafrolic · 09/09/2013 15:50

Aaaaargggh - thanks Decam but they haven't got the ones I want :(

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 09/09/2013 15:54

I've got the Spirals MrsR they've been a complete grower for me - I was v unsure at first, now I wear them lots (and get lots of compliments) so figure they must be okay.
Amber great Rosemunde blog - I love their vests. Amazing how different you looked in your colours though - just fab!

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 09/09/2013 15:54

SOmeone needs to try SHOEACCESS50 surely?
