McNally the course is all done online but the place that offers it is in California (of course Wink). Historically, eating psychology has specifically addressed issues such as bulimia/anorexia/over eating but the truth - IMO - is that most of us, myself included, have less than straightforward, albeit less extreme relationships with their bodies and food. I find it so fascinating, even if I don't end up using it as a career then I think it will be worth doing for my personal interest. I may be around here a little less though Grin.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/09/2013 18:09

sleep I may call on your expertise for info that can help me with always hungry and overweight DD. (although my next door neighbour is an international obesity specialist of some renown)

Sleepwhenidie · 06/09/2013 18:13

That would be interesting Grumpy - one thing I would really love to do if I felt qualified after doing this is to work not only with one to one clients but also somehow try and get positive messages to groups of teenage girls. I am aware of the uphill struggle to fight against the effects of the media in terms of body image etc Sad but would hope to make a little bit of difference if possible. How old is your DD?

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 18:20

Oooh well done again Sleep. I now remember you talking about this back in May! Flowers.

Must tell you all about today's school gate style Wink as I love what i am wearing today. So, this Banana Republic coat which was I persuaded to buy by the sales assistant in San Francisco earlier this year, over this top that I think Dry pointed out on MNV ages ago, BR skinny cords and these KG's which I love. Today's bag, a Aspinal Hepburn in nude. Oh and this ring. Just because. Grin.

foxysocks · 06/09/2013 19:03

the howard is in a really lovely new town townhouse. when we lived in edinburgh visitors often stayed there.

after a full day looking at kitchens and related paraphenalia, with both DC in tow (schools not back until monday for us), I am ready to lie down in a darkened room with only prosecco and a lavender eyebag for company. fucking HELL they can whinge so loudly! tbf I felt like throwing a screaming fit by the end of the day too.

we are at an impasse WRT range cookers. which of these do you prefer? AGA S series 6/4 or AGA masterchef

santamarianovella · 06/09/2013 19:06

mig glad your ok,

dec i have no idea, about wool mix,but maybe cause burberry brit is more affordable in comparison to the main line,so they are trying to limit the cost by mixing fabric? im sure im wrong!

sleep thats very exciting! you sound like the perfect person for it, and you are right we all have issues with eating and how we see our bodies,

grumpy we stayed at greywalls hotel, lovely scenery ,rooms a bit dated, but the food is excellent.

novice fab outfit, love the fact you get excited about the SR, Grin

dry gorgeous skirt.

marsha love that movie, cant wait for the sequel!

im with you all about pointless celebs doing fashion lines or being featured on covers or editing i hardly buy mags nowdays, but i still pick elle from time to time,

i returned the iro jacket today and kept the marant one.

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 19:12

Novice love your outfit. I bet the orange BR trench looks fantastic on you.

Foxy I feel I should know a smidgen about Agas to answer that, but as I don't I'll just go with the first link.

Santa me too, is Meryl in it with AH again? I did read the 2nd book, but it is absolutely dire and I don't recommend it. Hope the film is better!

foxysocks · 06/09/2013 19:19

fair point marsha maybe I should ask somewhere else too. the first one is more trad looking, which is why I like it. it's also £1100 more £££, the oven size is not as good as the masterchef (for us) and the grill on the masterchef is LOADS better. masterchef also wider, which I like. oh dear, am confusing myself again. they both have ++ and -- I guess. DH wants the masterchef, he is rabbiting on about not getting a big enough turkey in the 6/4 ovens - I don't even eat meat!

santamarianovella · 06/09/2013 19:20

foxy the S series, will you go with the black?

marsha i read that AH,would love to star in a sequel to tdwp, not sure about meryl.

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 19:29

Foxy I like both...a lot. Think electric oven, gas hob a good combo. Am a bit mystified about electric/gas Agas...just seems wrong somehow. Like the Porche Cayenne.....Porche 4X4 feels wierd too Confused
Novice lovely outfit (didn't you get wet feet? Wore ballet flats today...currently drying out!!).i love the jewelry updates.
sleep that is a brilliant idea. I know a lot of your dieters ....I also worry a lot about my DD and the pressures she will encounter (she's nearly 13) ....already said she thinks her legs are fat (they're not...she has DH long legs and is taller than me already). As someone who is also obsessed with my figure (not a yoyo dieter...) who was bulimic in my teens and every decade rein myself in, I worry about whether DD will copy me. I love cooking, my motto with the kids is "everything in moderation" and we're a very active family, but I still really worry about her.peer pressure is huge.

DH out again tonight on works do......plumber done. I have 250ltrs of hot water, functioning showers and washing machine. The cylinder is now in a cupboard in my utility so the airing cupboard is empty and I'm going to have a lovely linen cupboard on my landing.......am thinking of getting a bottle of Wine and a pot of paint out of the garage and painting the inside........... Or maybe I'll just have the wine and stay on MNV!!!!

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 19:31

Foxy I would go for the bigger oven every time!!!

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 19:34

Yep...have had another look....think we have similar tastes , I like a trad look and would not object to the master chef at all.....and the big oven would swing it for me.......cheaper,bigger,better grill, still "Aga y looking"......it's a no brainier

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 19:39

I have an appointment now to see the dietitian. I'm skeptical about what they can do for me as the last time I saw them, they put me on an extreme, 800 calorie a day diet as the 1200 calorie diet and the slim fast diet didn't work for me and I didn't lose a single pound. I stuck to it religiously as well, I didn't cheat or skip anything and it just didn't work Sad

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 19:53

Bigger oven for me too Foxy!

dry, marsha thank you.Smile Marsha, you're right, the orange looked fab, I can't believe I had to be talked into it by the assistant! Dry, I think I was very lucky with the downpours, they managed to happen outside of the school runs.

This evening PA has sent me my itenary for Sunday to Friday. Has all my meeting details, travel and hotel arrangements. I am flying Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Then again flying on Thursday. However, I have 4 hours free on Thursday. My itenary says in big letters...SHOPPING ON FIFTH AVENUE! she knows me well.Grin

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 19:55

Sorry One, I meant to say 800 calories just sounds impossible. I try and stick to 1200 to 1500 calories, but literally can't imagine 800 cals. The doctor said this?

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 20:07

I love that Novice! Even better that it is in capitals Grin

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 20:11

I swear Novice that's what the dietitian advised because he said I was obviously lying about sticking to the other diets and he wanted to show me that I didn't 'need to be greedy' to live Hmm

I was pretty much living on cup a soup and lettuce and herbal tea because milk was extra calories I couldn't have and I didn't lose a single bloody pound. In the end I stopped going because he kept making me cry

I barely eat, I mean really. I eat once a day and that's only if someone else makes me a meal and puts it in front of me. Even then I only eat small amounts so I don't know how I'm greedy. I know I'm fat but I've never been greedy. He also point blank refused to accept that ANY of my medications could be causing me to gain and/or retain weight. It was all about me being greedy and lying to him Hmm

shopafrolic · 06/09/2013 20:12

Grumpy if you get time I recommend the Cowshed Spa at the Scotsman Hotel. I went there for my hen do and it was one of the best massages I'd ever had.
Foxy hard for me to comment on the Aga ovens as I have a 3 oven Un- environmentally friendly beast of an oven and love it so. By definitely get a big oven size.......I still lust over the not so bargainous fridge freezer
Dry I love that blue skirt and would be really interested to see the dress as I love the sound of the colour and I love an exposed zip too!
Novice outfit sounds great. If I saw you at the school gate I'd have serious bag and bling envy.
Sorry for random posts last night, just a bit of a shock, but good news - just felt weirded out! Thanks for all being so ace as usual.
All the ops sound scary - I'm super squeamish so can't join the discussion but good luck One
Sleep that course sounds amazing, I imagine you'll be fabulous too, I can imagine it already.
Sorry to everyone I've missed, I'll be back on form soon......

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 20:30

Would it be wrong to pair a red lacey 3/4 length sleeve dress with plum tights? I want to do it but fear it may be oh so wrong........

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 20:47

Poor you One, well I hope you get better treatment from the next person Shock.

The dress and plum tights. Err no! Grin

Shop, I responded back to you!

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 20:49

Dry meant to say, that unless dh lightens up about the big fat mortgage, there will be no christmas bling update! Shock. Hopefully dmil won't let him get away with that kind of treatment Grin

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 20:53

This time novice I'm going in armed with a leaflet for every single one of my medications and I'm going to highlight the bit on each of them where it says 'can cause weight gain' under the commonly reported side effects list. I'm hoping that since it's someone new I'm seeing this time, that they may be a little more understanding.

Guess I'll have to stick to black opaques Grin

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 21:16

One now I know I'm embracing colour blocking and bright combos, but plum and red is a step too far!!!Grin I lost 18lb 18 months ago on Dukan, essentially no sugar or carbs at all. Incredibly effective......I found it easy because I can't be bothered counting calories, just prefer to not eat certain things, much easier.
Shop I've searched for links of the dress but can't find it at all. I'll keep searching or take a picture. I think it is one of your colours....the zips are on the cuffs...cool. And it was £30!!!!! If I can find a nice pair brown shoe/ankle boots think it will look good with my stone biker jacket.

Cupboard first coat done....glass of Pouilly fume in one hand, roller in he other....my kind of decorating! Grin

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 21:17

one why don't you keep a food diary for a week...might help .
