Grumpy, Anni v kindly and patiently pm'd me through getting on the board. I realized I had to do it on the Mac/laptop.....are you on an IPad like me? The pin symbols aren't visible.
Thanks so much Anni I'm on now so don't need to comment as you anymore although I could have caused havoc
Amber you are tough......blimey, guess you had no choice though.......respect.
One poor you, but the only consolation is that one OP will prevent numerous painful dislocations.

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2013 22:31

Mig is poorly which is why she's not on...said to say hello.

santamarianovella · 05/09/2013 22:42

amber respect indeed!

ani i could barely hold my dd with a spinal block, let alone breastfeed, cant imagine doing it with GA!

dry you cant be brill at everything!

santamarianovella · 05/09/2013 22:43

amber ment to say you are a fighter!

mig get well soon.

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2013 22:58

novice 8th Sept Becks on MN....we can post a question. Shall I invite him to the MU on 12th Oct? Grin

Annianni · 05/09/2013 23:00

You could have got up to mischief Dry.
I was quite surprised that you hadn't given me a David Beckham appreciation board while you were there :o

Get well soon Mig.

Santa, I had an epidural, a GA and then they gave me a morphine drip the day after I was totally off my face and trying to breastfeed.
I've blocked it out as a bad memory, it was awful.

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2013 23:12

Have told Becks we'll save him a place at our meet up .

AmberNectarine · 06/09/2013 07:11

The op was the least worst part of it, to be honest. When they put the big epidural style needle into each nerve to isolate my arm was probably he toughest. I could feel it pop through my muscles. They did give me something to calm me down though, which was quite pleasant. The best news it didn't work so I'm doing it all over again in a few weeks.

Meant to say QueenC, you look fab in that dress, it's gorgeous.

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 07:14

Noooooo amber!!!! But...sedation is brill Grin

Decameron · 06/09/2013 07:16

Shop, I am glad your dad is ok. My parents did the same to my brother when my mother was terminally ill. He found out as he bumped into someone from home who blurted it out to him when he was travelling in S. America. They were trying to protect him but it was the wrong decision.

QueenC, you look amazing in the Westwood dress.

Interesting about the kitchen chat as we are thinking of buying a fixer upper now.

Santa, how rude of that woman.

Dry, funny about the knobs!

One, best of luck.

Emailed NAP about the Burberry coat asking not being 100% wool, they said this makes it more durable esp. in the rain, do you think that's true?

Decameron · 06/09/2013 07:17

asking about it not being 100% wool

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 07:50

Decam your poor brother...that's terrible.

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 08:49

Decam your poor brother. Must have been very hard, hugs.

Thanks Shop for the pm. I am going to hunt around in store a bit more this week.

QueenC you look great in both, that blue is fabulous on you.

Yesterday was ok, a bit rushed. They should have booked an earlier train. Had a nice afternoon in the sunshine.

I look forward to meeting D Beckham!

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 08:52

Decam re Burberry no idea really! Maybe. I think if you like how it feels and looks then it's still good. I'm going to Bond St soon will see if they have it this time.

Mig hope you feel better soon.

Sleep how are you feeling about your hair colour now a couple of days later?

Momin famous designer sounds very intriguing!

McNally · 06/09/2013 09:11

Blimey shop, that must have been a shock. Thank goodness your Dad is ok.

Congrats on getting onto your course sleep. Is it fitness related?

Good luck with the run mom. A fifth of a marathon sounds plenty! I've been trying to get back into running and have been going out four or so times a week for the last couple of weeks. My resolve may weaken when the weather is bad though!

One, that sounds rubbish, but hopefully worth it if it stops the dislocations. You'll have your drumming to look forward to when you've recovered.

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 09:13

Ah yes. That's what it was. Congratulations Sleep! Sounds great.

McNally I went for a run last night. Was nice to leave dh to bed routine.

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2013 09:45

Shop I'm glad your Dad is ok but can see it must have been a shock.

Carrie great news on compliments.

Ok enough scrolling back, apols!

needastrongone · 06/09/2013 10:04

Gosh, don't parents make some strange decisions trying to protect us that, with hindsight, do quite the opposite?

Shop - I am glad that your Dad is ok. I love those jeans but can't quite figure out the sizes, I must be daft!?? I quite fancy them anyway.

Floors - limed oak downstairs which is very pale and looks fab (we moved 2 years ago and vowed to do everything 'properly', rather than on a budget as we have always had to do). In the kitchen, it's tiled a pale cream with a very slight marble effect which helps with any dirt and marks but the tiles are HUGE, way bigger than standard, like flagstones really. As the room is large, it's effective. Another option perhaps?

We have a minimalist kitchen too (cream gloss, light grey granite, stainless steel) It looks fab when clutter free but is much higher maintenance than our previous kitchen. I don't regret it but it is harder work.

I know loads about running and glad to be of assistance with any questions. Started when the DC were little as it fitted in with DH's long working hours, discovered I was good at it, having been only ever average at sport all my life, joined a club, got very good, got a coach etc got even better, run a few marathons in my time. Sadly, I know about nerve blocks and big needles too as my back packed in after a few years of high mileage Smile

Right, off to take some clothes back as I am being ruthless and returning if I don't LOVE it when it's on and also get organised as we are supposed to be camping this weekend for a pony competition, great, 'tis chucking it down as the say 'oop north' Smile

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 10:34

Morning, Shop your poor family. And what a shock. So glad it's good news though!

Last night, we had a curveball with our property (current one). Our neighbours have put in a planning application for an extension that we think we will have to object to.Sad Just in the process of getting advice on it this morning. Nightmare because might stuff our plans to put the house on the market immediately.

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 10:38

Amber I hope it works second time round.

Oh no novice had the neighbours not said anything before they put the application in?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/09/2013 12:39

Anni I had checked the '2 pin' icon, but there was nothing there from you. I've tried on the laptop and my PC in the office, so it's not just through my Pinterest app. Told you I was rubbish.

Got a catalogue from Wrap today and found myself practically salivating over this and quite a few other things, including this lovely scarf

mignonette · 06/09/2013 13:32

Shop Have PMed you. What a shock that must have been.

Good afternoon everybody. Am impressed at the speed of this thread and have some serious reading to do to catch up.

Anybody having surgery under LA I advise an Ipod if you don't need to respond to instructions (Neurosurgery for example) and a handkerchief with something nice smelling on it to be kept near your head to help minimise the somewhat 'earthy' scents of surgery.

Liberty We do like to torture the managers by pretending they need to witness surgery Wink....I used to be the MECT nurse (ect) when working on one psych unit and detested it. Used to be perplexed about the pressure placed upon patients to get up and go to OT when they'd had a GA and were also suffering short term memory loss. Any other surgery and they'd be told to go and rest. Used to get into some very heated 'debates' w/ senior psychiatrists over it.

Today I have been eyeing up lovely woollen throws in Herringbone and subtle checks for my sitting room. I also love this grey waffle sweater. I'm counting the days till woolly tights time. These Merino ones are my go to pair and these chevron ones in brighter colours have been ordered also. I'm always after wool tights so any suggestions of good thick, non wrinkly pairs would be appreciated. I like any colour really apart from creams/pinks.

QueenCadbury · 06/09/2013 14:10

shop hope you're ok.

dec surely sheep are durable in the rain Confused

mig good to see you back.

It felt decidedly chilly this morning and felt very odd to be wearing full length jeans, socks and converse. Glad it's not hot though as have the hangover from hell after book group last night. Not sure how I ended up drinking so much!

I forgot to mention earlier in the week that grazia are doing 25% off at jaegar.

Decameron · 06/09/2013 14:26

Sounds like a good night, QC!

Hope you are feeling better, Mig.

I'm not looking for something waterproof, just want to make sure it won't look shabby within a year as it is not 100% wool. I have the money put aside, thinking it over.

mignonette · 06/09/2013 14:35

I never get sick so this has been hubris for me Grin but poor DH has lost his voice and has just walked spluttering through the back door after being rained off.

Queen I am going to buy one of the Jaeger 'Jennifer' bags, those totes in bright primary colours. Whether it'll be green, red or blue I know not.

Rain and grey-dom here. Took the dog out for a walk and even he sniffed at the air and wasn't very keen. When a Springer does that, it must be grim. So have put on my old leopard calf hair Clarks Desert boots here with black Helmut Lang cigarette skinnies and an old Boiled Wool/Cashmere envelope neck pale blue sweater (M&S from 2002) with a camel coloured tank underneath. Warm and snug for the BBQ I am supposed to be attending later (Ha).
