Sigh. It's 8.50pm. Dd still awake. Won't sleep and making up ailments if try and leave room. she will be a nightmare at school tomorrow.

One so sorry to hear your news. Thanks poor you.

QueenC love the VW on you. Very very foxy!Wink I did love the blue one though. Pity about the creases.

Sleep congratulations!!ThanksWine

BrandyAlexander · 05/09/2013 20:53

Dry, oooh when?

Mominatrix · 05/09/2013 20:57

Evening all. My typing is going to be worse than usual as I stupidly craved open a bottle of Vinho Verde, which is much too easy to drink. Hic. Well, it is the last gasp of hot weather, and vinho verde doesn't keep well (that's my story and I'm definitely sticking to it).

Anni: I'm not on Pin, but just started on Instagram. re navy merino v-neck, it is boring, but it can be jazzed up with accessories, and will last forever. OK, I'm not helping, but navy is a staple colour in my wardrobe.

Sleep - well, I'm going to do a marathon but stop a fifth of the way into it Grin. In my defence, it was my lunch and the mash was mostly celeriac, and the choco cake was made with yoghurt?.Sod it, just felt like it! congratulations on the course - I want to apply to a masters in something else, but will have to wait 2 years when DS2 is more settled in school.

foxy: can't have flagstone without underfloor heating! Would also avoid wood due to all of the water hazards in a kitchen, and also wood is very unforgiving of things like dropped plates/glasses and the occasion stiletto. What about a different tile AND underfloor heating?

DryWhite: love the sound of your kitchen. Mine is currently white, stainless steel. and wenge brown. Very minimalistic, and easily looks cluttered, so I need to be constantly on top of clutter. Yours sounds so much softer and calmer!

OneLittleLady: Ouch, sounds very painful and so sorry you won't be able to continue your drum lessons. What have the doctors said about the prognosis?

Amber - could you link to your blog? I'd love to take a look at it.

I picked up my clothes from my tailor and and very, very pleased with what she did to my leather trousers - they are now very much like the Marant ones, but cost me only a net £15! No, after this trend I won't be able to wear them again, but she breathed new life in them, and the leather is really too superb to lie abandoned on a shelf. She also unpicked and restitched my leather leggings, which look like new again. I love her!

DS2 seemed to enjoy school, but could only talk about what he had for lunch and all the playing he did. Hmmmm. Well, at least he is happy?

BrandyAlexander · 05/09/2013 21:02

mom, what did the tailor do to your leather trousers? I picked up my leather trousers again a few days ago which were hand made for me 10 years ago in Argentina. Fortunately/unfortunately I was size 10 then, and a 6 now. They look like I have crapped in them. Was a bit gutted as I used to look foxy in them! Now wondering if they can be restitched?

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2013 21:03

mom prognosis is good, won't cure the underlying condition but should at least put a stop to most, if not all, the random shoulder dislocations.

shopafrolic · 05/09/2013 21:08

So my Dad just called to tell me that for the last 8 weeks he's been undergoing tests for lung cancer! The good news is he hasn't got it! I don't know whether to laugh or cry! They didn't want to worry me apparently Hmm

novice, on one pair, she cropped, narrowed the leg, and added zippers and on the leggings, she unstitched and restitched the knee area. If I were you, I'd take them to a very good tailor to reporportion to your new size. If I was looking at the work you need to get done, I have another tailor (actually very near where the MU is) who is used by many of the Bond Street designers. This company was able to take a suit which I purchased at 5 months first pregnant (didn't think I'd get back to my normal size) and brought it down to my normal size (French 38 down to a 34).

libertychick · 05/09/2013 21:16

Bloody hell shop!!! Thank goodness he's ok...it's quite sweet they didn't want to worry you...
one the thought of your op makes me wince but great to have a solution at last
Mom Amber's blog is here

Mominatrix · 05/09/2013 21:16

Thank goodness shop that your Dad does not have cancer. Parents are funny it that way. I agree, not sure if one should get annoyed or happy about the good news. Probably both. Wonder what we'll be like with our own children?

Mominatrix · 05/09/2013 21:19

Liberty, thanks for the link!

Annianni · 05/09/2013 21:19

Blimey Shop Shock
Glad he's ok.

Dry pm!

shopafrolic · 05/09/2013 21:22

They didn't want to say as another family member is also quite seriously ill so they didn't want to add to stress levels. Anyway, definitely relieved but they must have been so worried!
Lovely things on the Outnet, I'm liking the new I&I pieces.....
Marsha did you see my PM?

I love navy Mom.
I just think the shape is a bit blah on me.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/09/2013 21:41

Mom very Envy of your good tailor. I have several items I'd love to have altered but don't have anyone I know of locally. I used to have a brilliant lady where I lived before, but that was 20 years and many miles ago. Love the sound of your customised leather pants.

Anni - can't see anything from you on Pin, but I think I may have just found (and followed) you. I am the world's most inept Pinterest user though. Bloody useless.

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2013 21:48

Oh god shop at least your Dad's ok. I can understand how you might not know how to react though but at least it's good news

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2013 21:54

Grumpy I'm the same.....ok on my Pinterest but can't seem to get on secret boards (despite some huge and kind efforts by Anni to get me on) I'm ok with that...can't be brilliant at everything Grin
Blimey shop what a shock/ relief.....
Mom I love my kitchen, it is v relaxing but I'm constantly having to tidy the tops whole house to keep it calmSmile it's going to be even better by end November....can't wait!

Annianni · 05/09/2013 21:55

Grumpy on your pin screen, there's a box on the top right of the screen, next to it is 2 pin symbols.
If you click on that, the invite should be there.

There's a strange comment on the mnv pin board, blue dress photo, from me... It's not from me, it's from Dry :o

AmberNectarine · 05/09/2013 21:58

Mom I don't think I'm a million miles from you geographically - Would you mind PMing me your tailors details? Have loads of stuff I'd like alternations to (Freda leather leggings, Wang jacket) but no decent ones round here that I know of!

QueenC it is BarryM's finest 'grey'.

One I had the special pleasure of being awake for my surgery (breastfeeding and GA not a good mix appaz) and heard the filing taking place. Boak is not the word.

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2013 22:00

Ugh, that doesn't sound nice at all amber I'm glad I'll be asleep. They've decided GA is the way forward because they have to dislocate my shoulder to get inside the socket and I may 'struggle too much' as they are trying to pop it out if I'm awake Hmm

libertychick · 05/09/2013 22:00

Is it ok to admit to being ever so slightly excited that it's only 16 degrees tomorrow so I can actually wear some autumn clothes? Grin decisions, decisions...

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2013 22:02

16 degrees? YES!!!! the opaques will be coming out, it's time to put my legs away. I feel sure the town will rejoice at not being blinded by my milk white legs Grin

libertychick · 05/09/2013 22:04

Oh Amber you poor thing...I once sat in on a minor surgery session as part of a learning day (they like to get us NHS manager types onto the front line occasionally) - true to cliche I fainted on the second patient - he was having a cancerous mole burnt off and the smell was horrendous.

libertychick · 05/09/2013 22:06

One I have planned a meeting in London on Tuesday specifically so I can get to House of Fraser and stock up on Wolford opaques Grin

santamarianovella · 05/09/2013 22:08

shop thank goodness your dad is ok ! i cant understand it either,my mom underwent treatment for her thyroid, including radiotherapy, without telling me,she said she didnt want me to get distracted from my finals! it still hurts.

grumpy whats your pin?

Annianni · 05/09/2013 22:14

Hurrah!
I think Dry's cracked it on Pin :o

They gave me a GA for Ds2's section... That'll explain why breastfeeding was a total nightmare afterwards.
Bloody midwives never said a word about it!
Grr...
