needastrongone · 03/09/2013 22:30

My pinterest board, so far anyway.

I need to glam up a bit clearly. Haven't got round to that bit yet, I think that I am still in holiday mode.

Hello, too tired to catch up properly but wanted to chip in a few links:

This New Look jacket is great, good fit, quality seems good - Brown not really my colour but someone should buy it!

So light, so warm, so flattering, this will be on my back all winter Love it! Got it in black, v tempted to get another colour too.

If anyone sees a red blazer like this one please let me know - bit cheaper would be good - for my little sis Smile

MU sounds great - really hoping I can make it. Will catch up properly when I can...

needastrongone · 03/09/2013 22:38

trying again, it's time for bed

shopafrolic · 03/09/2013 22:57

I've only ever posted a pic to this thread from my BB or my laptop so perhaps it's an iPad issue?
Lying in bed looking at my Vince sweater hanging on the front of my wardrobe - love it.
Marsha I've PM'd you a link for London stockists.

Thanks Shop that's really nice, thank you!

Bit late, back tomorrow. Night.

shopafrolic · 04/09/2013 07:21

Morning Dry
Dull day planned today, supermarket and playdate.... Yawn. Today and tomorrow are meant to be hot though I think? Best get the legs out!
Marsha I never answered about coats. Sorry. I've got my Maison Scotch camel. Coat, my grey wool collar Sportmax, various Barbours and tweeds for the country stuff, my Muubaa biker and the old black leather from GAP I wore to last MU which I put a faux fur gilet over when it gets cold.
Have wonderful days everyone.
Sleep how do you feel about your hair today? I wonder if Meg is a lurker? :)

OP posts:
Sleepwhenidie · 04/09/2013 07:47

Hey Shop...mmm, not so sure I like the hair. DH still mostly a no - "well it's alright, but certainly a step towards de-glamming" was the comment later on last night Hmm. I need to see how it washes but at the moment I feel like running back to the salon to get highlights put back in! But I think the darker bits will fade a but then it may be better....

That alarm at 6.50am was a killer this morning, glad the kids are back to school but Sad at the early starts! Third disturbed night in a row again too, which probably isn't helping my mood Hmm.

I keep looking at the shearling gilet here although of course they have now sold out in my size Hmm. Those of you who have them, do you wear a lot? Do all of you think they are a good buy now or possibly next year they will be a little bit passé?

Drywhiteplease · 04/09/2013 08:07

That's nice shop, it is a nice place but a bit chilly!

Legs out ladies!!!Grin

Have a good day

shopafrolic · 04/09/2013 08:41

Sleep oh, I wouldn't like the de-glamming comment either! Have any of your girlfriends seen you to give an opinion? Or you could stick a pic on Anni's private board on Pin?
I wore my gilet loads last year when it was really cold (not shearling though) - I liked the fact that I could sling it on over a leather jacket and get the warmth without losing the leather IYSWIM. I doubt they'll get passé as they seem to reappear year after year don't they?

McNally · 04/09/2013 08:48

Change in hair always takes a while to get used to (especially for men I've found). Am sure you look great sleep, the examples you pinned we're lovely, but easy to get highlights back in to lift it if you don't grow to love it.

The Temperley dress arrived. I haven't had a chance to try it on yet, but it kind of reminds me of a child's party dress, so I'm a bit Hmm. Also should probably be spending on stuff to wear everyday rather than yet another dress...

BrandyAlexander · 04/09/2013 09:08

Dd started in reception this morning. I hardly slept last night as i am nervous for her. She looked so cuteSmile so my first school gate styleGrin a burnt orange cowl neck top by kaliko, gap always straight jeans, kg ballerinas and Chloe Marcie. Did I pass the test?!

Sleep, I cannot imagine you looking anything other than glam! Men and change?Shock

shopafrolic · 04/09/2013 09:16

Wow! Big day Novice - your outfit sounds great. Were your couple crush at the gates? :)

OP posts:
Annianni · 04/09/2013 09:20

I'd probably cry at the de-glamming comment Hmm

I agree and I'm nosy add a photo on pin please Sleep.

Congrats on the house Novice, and great outfit.

Fab news on your course Foxy.

Lovely sweater Shop.

It makes me realise how many lurkers there are out there, when I offered to forward the gap voucher and I get loads of pm's off names that I've never seen on s&b before!?

kalidasa · 04/09/2013 09:27

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I think you're right about bravissimo for my problematic bra size! Even though I'm sure they're still changing I'm going to have to buy a few more bras as I just don't have enough. I have tackled the first stage though and done a big clear out of all the bras that really don't fit, and also the hideous maternity ones, which I'm going to hide in the loft.

The New Look jacket looks interesting liberty. I haven't even been in New Look for years.

I have managed to sign up for pinterest and I am following a few of you but I have yet to venture into posting anything myself, in fact I haven't really worked out how to yet. When I do, I am here:

pinterest.com/helixaspersa/boards/

I've got a new jacket arriving today so if I like it I'll try and take a photo for you all.

I've got to go to a wedding on Saturday and am struggling a bit to work out what to wear.

Sleepwhenidie · 04/09/2013 09:32

Argh. Feeling rubbish about the hair now. Our nanny liked it a lot yesterday but we do, after all, pay her. She laughs at all my jokes too Wink. Will wash it and try and post a pic later. Be gentle!

Fab news about course Foxy, when does it start?

Novice did you cry? Sound like you would have been most stylish mummy at the gate, tears or not Smile.

Random question but what are your thoughts on capes?

Off to GAP later to get kids stuff and check out what's new to use the discount on.

BrandyAlexander · 04/09/2013 09:33

Thanks Shop and AnniSmile

No, couple crush were at pre school and aren't going to the same school. I am devastated. I will have to find a new couple to stalk!

Hello lurkers! Do feel free to join in. Everyone is lovely.

I realise that I told a whole bunch of people about the house before my mumBlush and I still have only told one of my siblings. Mum's first question predictably was what is wrong with your current house?

Next week is the start of new school year for my charity's adopted village school. I have a call later with the headmaster to check that they have the uniforms, shoes, rucksacks, belts, books, pens and pencils for all 200 pupils (its gone up). Yeah!

BrandyAlexander · 04/09/2013 09:36

Sleep, thank youSmile no I didn't cry but oh I definitely wobbled! Our nanny was trying to hold it together when we left her. She forgot to take photos at the front door when we left so she's upset. Dh just said " she can take pictures tomorrow!"Hmm

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2013 09:38

Everyone back at school and pre-school today. Very sweet. Ds1 adores his school. The school where he used to go, the little pre-prep, they had their first day, made me have that moment of awww.

Momin I so envious re the tweed Marant coat, I had my eye on one in Liberty but missed out on it. Wonder if it's the same one. Canada Goose sounds very warm.

Santa I have a theory that the Marant stuff isn't photographing very well and it's all nicer in rl. For the wool jackets and probably for the dress too.

Liberty really hope you can make the MU, be great to see you.

Decam need to up my coat numbers!

Sleep good one MegM! re -hair, I'm sure you are still very glam but if you are still not keen after a while, you could add highlights. I like that shearling gilet, but I don't have one.

McNally it's very pretty, but might feel too sweet and girly. Depends on how you feel about it I think.

Anni that is strange!

Welcome to pin Kalidasa.

Gorgeous day and the peace and quiet is rather sublime, espresso in the sunshine I think.

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2013 09:39

Novice well done on first day. And congratulations on the house!

Sleepwhenidie · 04/09/2013 09:42

Anni gorgeous pins you've been adding. I started to add comments then realised I like pretty much everything Grin.

shopafrolic · 04/09/2013 09:56

Marsha I'm feeling left out Grin

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/09/2013 09:59

Haha! I just saw your name on threads I'm on and my first thought was damn I didn't include Shop! Grin

How's this week going? Is ds in nursery today?

Decameron · 04/09/2013 10:01

Kalidasa, maybe start by repinning looks you like?

Santa, I agree, coconut water is bleurgh.

Sleep, I am sure your hair is gorgeous now, don't mind that husband of yours, but I do like it blonde (from your FB photos). I like that gilet too.

I like capes on other people but found them quite annoying on me, maybe because I wore it when I was pregnant and couldn't wait to get rid of it.

Novice, forgot to say say good news about the mortgage and hope your DD has a good first day at school. They are so sweet in reception. DD1 starts year 1 tomorrow. She hasn't said much about it but she is looking forward to wearing her new Lelli Kellys!

Marsha, I am a coat down, I decided I look like an undertaker in the black CK one. I have now created a need for a black or navy coat.

MrsRadicchio · 04/09/2013 10:09

Ah Novice I think I will be a wreck when DS1 starts school - little baby growing up. Good news about the school you are supporting increasing its numbers. Will you get to go out there sometime?

Sleep I too am sure your new hair looks fab. Probably just a case of getting used to it (how about waiting for 3 weeks then if you still feel the same, get some highlights put in again) and also maybe needing to wear different colours / make up?

I love capes but like Decam not on me. More of a shape thing for me as I need a fitted top half.

Having decided I didn't need a new coat, I really like these:
check
check2

One of them is by Per Una!! I think I am tending towards number 2 though.

Someone asked about autumn shoes, I think I am going to try to wear my slipper shoes and brogues - I have loads of them and never wear them, just end up going for comfy trainers instead.
