Cake and Wine for novice

Decameron · 31/08/2013 22:38

Shop, I would like to meet you guys but won't know until nearer the time, if that's ok? We are trying to buy in Ireland, hopefully finding a house before Christmas, and going to be back and forth for the next few months.

Cool boots, Marsha. Think I have gone off Burberry a bit so my wallet thanks you. Matches' own line Freda had some nice peacoats last winter so will wait to see what comes up there.

Thanks Linus, I couldn't resist that bargain scarf.

Glad you got your clothes back, One!

Decameron · 31/08/2013 22:41

Umlauf my feet went straight down (and I had cankles towards the end, ugh) and I was back in my normal size within a couple of days so hang in there!

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 22:51

Oh. My. God. Idly browsing for skirts and the outnet viv westwood tartan anthracite came back into stock in an 8! Not sure whether it will be big enough as it looks quite small to size but have ordered anyway. Eeeeek!

this one

OneLittleLady · 31/08/2013 23:00

very nice foxy am Envy as I'd love some VW tartan. You say it looks small but the VW skirt I have is a 12 and I can get it on AND fastened and I'm by noooooooooooo means small round the hips

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 23:11

thanks OLL! I agree it's a classic so hopefully worth the ££ as still pricey at 54% off or whatever it is. that's also encouraging re: size. I so hope it fits. waist skirts are just not that comfortable for me, I need it to be a little lower. fingers x.

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 23:31

oh novice, sorry CP was hard ((((hugs))))

Annianni · 01/09/2013 00:44

Umlauf, my feet have gone from. 5/6 to a 6.5 through 2 pregnancies.
Was gutted to have to get rid of my shoes.
I had a lot

I may have ordered that bargainous scarf.
Not sure on the hearts though, will have to try it.

QueenCadbury · 01/09/2013 07:33

Morning. So much to catch up on.

mrsR congrats on your sultry winter diagnosis!

No shopping from me as we're still at friends. We've had a lovely few days but looking forward to being home now. 2 weeks of eating lots and drinking every day has now taken its toll. Feeling bloated and sluggish. I have a massive ocado order coming tomorrow full of healthy stuff!

Apparently it's going to be warm this week. I'm bored of my summer clothes now though Grin

Mominatrix · 01/09/2013 07:37

Morning all! So much to catch up over just one day.

Marsha great shoes - a total workhorse pair. Sorry about your experience at the Regent street Burberry - I could have warned you about that particular branch. I do feel sorry for the staff - they get busload (yes, there are tourbusses which stop there) of Oriental tourists which get dumped there. I would imagine that dealing with that sudden mass influx of people on a daily basis would put a dent in their customer service skills. Bond street is MUCH better. Better luck on your next trip. Have you seen the J crew pea coats?

Well done on the decluttering Novice - it is amazing how stuff just accumulates. SOmetimes I think that frequent moves (as I have done in my adult life) are good for limiting the acquiring of Stuff. Beautiful dress, though. I need to start thinking about my big dress for the season. No clues yet.

Umlauf, luckily my shoe size did not change, but my whole body got stiffer and I can't wear the crazy heels I used to love anymore. Have to limit myself to 100mm, and no more 120s for me.

Shop, your house sound gorgeous. I sway from loving period houses to adoring modern ones. Ours is a typical London hybrid - period in build with some original features with very modern living spaces.

Not sure what today holds for me - it is my birthday (35th again Wink) and DH has something planned in cahoots with DSs. wonder what it is? Have a lovely Sunday - just a couple more days until veryone is back to school!

Decameron · 01/09/2013 08:00

Mominatrix, happy birthday! Hope you have a lovely day.

QueenCadbury · 01/09/2013 08:04

Happy birthday mom

LinusDKD · 01/09/2013 08:23

Happy Birthday mominatrix!

Sleepwhenidie · 01/09/2013 08:26

Happy birthday Mom, have a lovely day!

In Auxerre having breakfast at a lovely hotel en route to the ferry. Journey yesterday was horrific, we will never travel on last Saturday in August from
south again. Very naive of us because French roads are usually so clear and fast but we sat in a jam from Nice to Lyon, a scheduled just under seven hour journey ended up taking 10 with only two loo stops and snacks in the car Sad. Luckily the DC's were incredibly well behaved, got on with each other and almost no tantrums. Thank god for their iPods though, otherwise we may all have been getting different modes of transport home from this point!

Lovely boots Marsha.

Welcome home Novice, de-cluttering is great when it's done isn't it! I am looking forward to getting back to what will feel like a brand new house, it was left so pristine for any rentals, we got one short one, hopefully more to come in future holidays.

carrie74 · 01/09/2013 08:35

sleep poor you, hope today's travel much simpler.

mom happy birthday!! Hope you have a good one.

novice sorry CPs wasn't so easy this time. We were looking at booking for a weekend soon: the kids usually love it so much, and we both like the time and space to be active.

Knackered here: 1:30 bedtime, followed by nightmare from DD at 5:30, eventually sending her back to her room 30-40 mins later. Gt back to sleep, but DS was awake from about 7:30 (I couldn't bring myself to open an eye to check the time), playing on the Wii downstairs, shouting out his triumphs [weep].

Lovely evening a friends' last night though. Wore dark denim skinnies, a sheer black blouse (layered over a plain LS T from Baukjen), then the gilet over the top, and orange ballet slippers. V casual evening, so clothes to match.

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 09:32

Happy birthday lovely Mominatrix! Have a lovely day.

Sleep ah awful, hope it's better today. Although great your dc behaved.

Foxy I love that skirt. Love it! What a spot, I like skirts a bit lower too hope it's good.

Carrie gorgeous outfit.

Yes think Regent St one is geared for tourists, horrible place, Bond St should be much nicer.

foxysocks · 01/09/2013 09:38

Happy birthday momintrix!

Carrie outfit sounds lovely, sorry you didn't get much sleep. I didn't either but it was because am worrying about stuff outside my control. Not helpful.

Thanks marsha, I LOVE it but am aware it could sit too high. I would have preferred to try a 10 at least but they haven't had one in stock for the month or so I have been stalking it.

BrandyAlexander · 01/09/2013 10:38

Morning everyone, thank you for your kindness.Smile Not sure what went wrong at CP, i think dh got v grumpy about the dcs being well... the dcs, and it both upset me and peed me right off they he was being such a twunt. He thinks it was a great holiday though.Hmm

Happy birthday Mominatrix! Hope you have a terrific day. Thanks

Great luck Foxy!

Sleep you poor thing.Brew

Carrie, great outfit.

So, shopping wise, there are three things that are going round in my head. The Pucci lace dress I linked yesterday. this Burberry Brit coat or the double breast version - cant find the link! Did Mig link it? And finally, shoe boots. I think the nicest ones I have seen are the LKB ones but can you ladies cope with another whole season of me moaning about LkB boots?Grin

More decluttering today for me. Think I will finish our bedroom and top of dcs wardrobes. Then maybe the disaster that's my dressing room.ShockShockShock

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 10:44

Novice sorry to hear about CP. It's so annoying when stuff like that happens. Dh is the same thinks any shape of holiday is a great one.

I love that one, I think I need single-breasted. Yes I think it was Mig, but not sure which site it was on. Far Fetch?

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 10:51

Momin the J Crew peacoats are lovely. Think I need to try on, saw the new store in construction yesterday, will be good when it's here. If I can't find anything in store somewhere else, I'll check them out some more.

Novice LKB sound good. I really like shoe boots.

foxysocks · 01/09/2013 11:34

marsha what happened to your outnet clearance peacoat? wasn't that a navy one?

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 11:38

Foxy Yes the Gryphon one, I still have it but it's really thin material. Not a winter coat. 70% cotton (looked at label my memory isn't that good Grin).

BrandyAlexander · 01/09/2013 11:54

Marsha what was the coat you were all last winter?

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 11:58

Novice this Stella M green one. I do love it and it's still in great shape but I've had it for two winters now and I can't face a third. Especially since the last winter was so long.

And green is a strong colour so it gets a bit samey. I'll still use it on the odd day but would be lovely to have something else too.

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2013 12:01

Also a Vanessa Bruno off-white one from Koh Samui. Thick and double-breasted. It's nice but feels a bit bulky. Bit old now too.
