Of course Marsha... now which bag? :o

Do they still do those carlton shoppers that old dears use for bingo and shopping?

Wow, what a coat! And so bargainous!

Willow bag arrived today and is even more beautiful than pictured. Lovely smooth bridle leather and it smells delicious (v important). Perfect size too - big enough to lug everything without overwhelming me with hugeness. Baukjen goodies came too (thank God DH wasn't here when the postie arrived, Russell & Bromley and 2 boxes from Baukjen!). Glitter shoes absolutely gorgeous, if a little roomy. However, slipped in an insole and - perfect! Beats swapping for a size down only to discover they're a bit tight and then you never wear them.
Also had an impromptu trip to Meadowhall (long story) to discover new Victoria's Secret store open. It's as good a specimen as any I've been to in the US and the prices weren't bad at all. Bought some new undies, slinky yoga pants and a slouchy, snuggly sweatshirt for lounging. Happy.

Great shopping Grumpy. I love the smell of new leather.

Asos boots arrived today and I am so happy! They are great, took a bit of wriggling to get them on but great fit, very comfy and as Anni said previously very good quality - can't believe they are £20 - bargain. I have decided to return the Topshop tan chelsea boots I just don't love them as much Smile

I also bought black suede almond toe wedge shoes today in M&S. Can't find them on the website to link - again it was instant love! I have been looking for a mid heel, non frumpy work shoe for ages.

holy moly, you guys move fast now! Will attempt to catch up with a couple of pages...

Liberty those asos boots look really useful.

Grumpy what did you get from Baukjen? I really like the look of their a/w stuff.

The Joseph coat is a bargain, reduced to under £1k Shock

Morning. Had a lovely night out with my friend last night leaving dh in charge of 5 kids (foxy I can recommend the river cottage). Wore black jeans rolled up, black ballet flats and navy top with numerous bracelets and loved my outfit.

grumpy glad you got that bag as it was my favourite from the links.

mignonette · 15/08/2013 08:06

Linus that razor bracelet is perfect for me, colour and style, everything.

Grumpy That is a gorgeous bag. Lucky you. I love the smell of leather in the morning to paraphrase.

Anyway I am back to work today and it is allocation meeting day so hope I am not weighed down with any new clients but as I have missed four, probably will be. I have too many as it is. Am as anxious as if it was my first day. Heard last night that somebody has been suspended from another CMHT for re-using a syringe barrel on a different patient [shocked] because they had run out and couldn't be arsed to go back to base.

So I am wearing my new Great Plains sweatshirt here layered over a cream Gap T shirt in case it gets warm. I have added an old indigo denim weave asymmetric kilt from TopShop bought in 2003. On my feet are my navy &Other Stories block heel sandals. I have my yellow Merci clutch folder and a tan leather shopper from Zara that is two years old for work stuff. I feel smart yet not stuffy.

Foxy You should definitely get the Big Bird coat. Oh yes you should. Pair it with those Celine mink Birkenstocks.

rotfl at you guys

I actually posted two links on the other place - not completely out there, but things i would NEVER wear - and no one has even expressed surprise that they are on my wish list. waaah.

the YSL shades arrived and they are PERFECTO. suit the width/shape of my face really well and come in a fabulously eurotrash white leather case, love it.

Ooh I like new AW13 cute bags from Orla Kiely: this and this. Cute!!

And this MBMJ one too

Report
Negroni · 15/08/2013 12:10

Gorgeous shades foxy.

I can't wear slipper shoes either, makes me look frumpy and like I should be teaming them with a dressing gown. Can't wear v pointed flats also due to quite wide feet. So am stuck with ballet pumps even though I was never a ballerina.

Saw these penelope chilvers slipper shoes in red magazine which I wish I could wear, though. In fact love all the slippers on her site!

And confusingly these MBMJ slippers are called ballerinas?!

Do like his ankle boots though in tan suede and black suede

annoyingly this dress is gorgeous but absolutely massive in an 8. wtf is that all about?!

it's OOS in a 6 on JL and the main whistles site - has anyone see it elsewhere?

Hopefully I bought the Coco shirt in off white. Lovely, drapey fabric and the gold glitter slippers which I am in love with. They're not bright gold, more coppery bronze and twinkly, rather than full-on sparkly. A couple of years ago (when it was still Isabella Oliver) I bought the most beautiful olive green silk shirt with a tie-neck. I think it will be one of those things I have forever. Their stuff's not exactly avant garde, but good quality and understated design.

Negroni I love those Penelope Chilvers slippers.

just catching up after a busy time with DMIL (and DH and I are finally going to have some time away together this weekend, just for a night but I can't wait). Love those boots libertychick

I am still waiting for my marant-alike jackets to arrive ...

GrumpyOldHorsewoman just saw your post about the zara jacket. I would need an XS/S (I am tiny up top, dumpy below and about the same height as you!). But thank you for thinking of me. I have been in some unsuccessful bidding wars on ebay for that jacket and it might be worth your while putting it on there?

I have decided to ban myself from the shapeless black leggings that have somehow weedled their way onto me in my weakened state Grin and I am in the market for some slim (skinny?) boyfriend jeans (I don't need to add inches to my saddlebags). As this might be a disaster and I might just wear them around the house, I want to start off cheap. What are your views on these: www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2742012

You're welcome Scripsi. I have put it aside to join the bunch of ebay stuff - it just doesn't look right on me. Weirdly, the sleeves are very tight (and I have quite skinny arms) but it's broad across the shoulders and sticks out a bit. I remind myself of Michael Jackson in the Thriller video when I wear it.

Would appreciate thoughts on how to wear this linen sweater. I think Grumpy has it too?? I love it but haven't worn it much...some inspiration would be great Smile

Planning a wardrobe revamp this weekend - going to dye this silk top bright pink and also thinking about dying this jumper - maybe emerald green?

Report
scripsi · 15/08/2013 13:07

Ha! at MJ. That sounds like it would not look great on me either tbh. Perhaps this will mean that the monsoon one is a keeper (if it ever turns up).
Congrats on bag! I haven't been to a VS store in the UK, I assumed they'd be much more expensive than in the US, but love their yoga pants (which I use for being very immobile Hmm) I shall have to seek them out.

I really need to sort my wardrobe out but half my clothes are missing in actin as my younger sister has 'borrowed' them. They may never return as she borrows things and then swears blind that I gave them to her. She always takes my really nice stuff as well as she says I don't wear it so someone has to Hmm

Also, scripsi Have you seen any of the aforementioned zara jackets in a medium or above on ebay? Having looked it up after Grumpy mentioned it, I quite fancy one but I'm not very good an e-bay, I never know where to start looking!

Report
scripsi · 15/08/2013 13:10

sorry xpost with liberty: I would love the silk top in bright pink and the jumper would be great in emerald (though I have never dyed a thing in my life).

OneLittleLady

I just search on zara quilted jacket.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zara-BNWT-Floral-Printed-Quilted-Jacket-Size-M-/171077501165?pt=UK_Women_s_Coats_Jackets&hash=item27d50380ed

They are going for significantly more than their clearance price unfortunately.

But I think that Grumpy has one in medium which is destined for ebay?
