Will this do?Smile

Ha, QQ, you said what I wanted to say - but you can speak with authority on these matters. Very well done to your ds.
BTM, nope, being married is definitely not good enough. Get your wills done asap. Ex-h and I had wills updated 2 years before we split, which meant his estate was far easier to sort out than it would have been otherwise. Needless to say, I insist that dh and I have up-to-date wills with all eventualities covered. (House is in my name, but dh does get to stay in it if I snuff it before him).

QueenQueenie · 23/08/2013 21:59

Loving the way you are all more interested in Ds1's results than my ankle boots... this is S and B you know!
But thanks for your kind congrats...

bigTillyMint · 23/08/2013 22:00

Hmmm, our problem is who to name as legal guardians, but as the DC are getting much older now, I guess it is less of an issue. Maybe DH and I should think again. Should we go through a solicitor or DIY do you think?

And I think I have done both same day and different days for exchange/completion.

Cremolafoam · 23/08/2013 22:02

Ooh ankle bootsGrin
Points and admires- linky?

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/08/2013 22:19

Wills, ankle boots and GCSEs. I can't keep up.

DD1 seemed much happier tonight. Thank God. DH driving back next week after the packers have been, with DD2 and the cats.

Cremolafoam · 23/08/2013 22:44

Mrs S I'm glad dd is better today.
You've got enough on your plate as it is. When is your last day at work ?

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 23/08/2013 23:27

The 6th. And I have three job interviews that week as well. AB wittering that my handover notes are insufficient. If he wants better ones, he can write them himself. He also wants to sit in on all of the meetings with my contacts. I have said that if he does, then there is no point in my going too, as we don't need three of us. Although am a bit sad, as most of the meetings were going to be my opportunity to say goodbye to people I've worked with for the past four years. Oh and a large number of these people he has never met before.

Cremolafoam · 24/08/2013 10:30

Those are great boots QQ - love them . Am now browsing that site .
I'm after a knee length pair this seasonSmile

Mrs s AB is going to persist in being an arse until the eleventh hour isn't he. ? I'd be inclined to do the least possible for the the next fortnight and
Exit stage left.
Hope the wretched interviews go well for you . They'd be lucky to have you IMHO .Smile

I would very much like a pair in this sort of style but I fear that I probably shouldn't buy more boots, as like BTM I have many pairs these days. I have just got my Art ankle boots from last year re-soled and re-heeled and I think I should refrain from buying any new footwear for myself. The hideous expense of buying new school shoes for ds's extraordinarily wide feet is looming.

MrsS, just when I think AB can't be any more of an arse, he manages it. Very good luck for your interviews. I am in total awe of your staying power in terms of dealing with the mountain of stuff that is your lot at the moment. Good that dd1 is feeling better and I hope that dd2 will settle in quickly at her new school.

In the 3 weeks that dd has been away, I have realised I need to try and change the way I react to some of her behaviours, i.e. stop trying to change her and change myself instead (which may well also result in her doing things differently). I am already putting this into practice and it does appear to be the way forward. We certainly could not have continued as we were before the summer holidays as we were stuck in a stalemate position.

Ruby, sorry to hear that your ds was disappointed with his results, but it's good that they were at least OK. Presumably this means that his plans for what comes next are unaltered?

bigTillyMint · 24/08/2013 11:17

Stropps, Granny boots! I remember a similar pair the first time round!
Also good to hear things are better with your DD - got any tips?Smile

Yes ruby, hope your DS is still OK for his onward plans? I am so dreading this.

We will be ankles a go-go on the 20th. I'll wear my new DM biker ones.

Blackduck · 24/08/2013 13:06

Oh Stropps those boots are lush....

I am trying to not buy any more clothes or shoes - have waaaay too much...

I currently appear to have no hot water - the immersion clearly does not work - arse...

MarieOfRoumania · 24/08/2013 17:19

I need an entire new wardrobe.

Apart from work clothes.

(Tis me, MrsS)

motherinferior · 24/08/2013 17:23

Have arrived home to reminders about a battery of health tests from eyes to cervix....

MarieOfRoumania · 24/08/2013 17:56

DH is preparing to drive back to London next week with DD2 and the cats. I have made lots of jokes about his pussy wagon. He's not overly amused.

motherinferior · 24/08/2013 18:13

We arrived back to various cat, er, effluvia plus the drain dripping AGAIN. On the other hand at least you can drink to excess in our house without having to negotiate life-endangering staircases. Holiday house was gorgeous and spacious but had a lot of stairs that were essentially ladders.

CointreauVersial · 24/08/2013 18:32

Why the namechange MrsS Marie? (I'm easily confused)

What a dull day. I got a bit stir-crazy mid-afternoon so we popped to the DIY store and had a snoop around the new Lidl in Dorking. When a trip to see a new supermarket constitutes the highlight of the day you've got to worry. Blush

I like those Ash boots, QQ, although my Topshop Mightys from last year have been reheeled and are ready to go for this winter, so I probably can't justify more ankle boots. But I'm like BTM, going straight from sandals to boots with nothing much in between.

So when's the move, Ruby?
