I'll probably zoom up on the train though could join the 176 contingent.

Cremolafoam · 20/08/2013 18:44

Standard Crepey Night Out

'Back of the bus' behaviour on the 176( singing and being riotous)
Mrs S and Crem boking up tequila on pavement
Crem telling everyone to Feck Off ( loudly)
General lurking on S&b boards for forseeable future
Blush

Hi all, checking in from the Lakes here. Mountains appear and disappear several times a day as the rain comes and goes but we've been lucky enough to stay reasonably dry on walks and boat trips.

Dd has sulky friend to stay, who only cheers up when talking about or eating food, the more unhealthy the better (steak pie and chips with no vegetables or salad please).

In crepey news, I had to give up on Catbells: the middle-aged middle ear couldn't cope with the rocky scrambly bit and I got horrible vertigo .

Ddog hopped off the Derwentwater steamer today, onto the jetty and straight into the drink. I keep trying to tell people she's intelligent. Of course she couldn't get out. Dh hauled her out by the scruff of the neck and she wagged her tail politely, as though nothing had happened, then shook herself all over me.

Have had a quick catch-up. Sympathies to those having hard times - will be back in touch soon.

Blackduck · 20/08/2013 21:56

I do the loooong tube journey home with iPod jammed in ears... (Still sure I didn't do enough of bill last time so feeling guilty....)

motherinferior · 21/08/2013 07:49

I suspect we should have done a bracing Lakes trip. Kids keep insisting they are "bored". I rather love being in the sunshine and quiet, but slightly wish in all honesty I was here in my own.

beachyhead · 21/08/2013 08:23

Alto, that v. funny about ddog Grin

I may journey home too, last train at 11.15pm from Waterloo - is that do'able? I can't remember what time we started/finished last time....

dd1 has gone to visit an IT savvy relative today to build her own website. I'm so excited, I bought her a domain name for her birthday and now she's going to have her own website Smile

Good luck to anyone else waiting for results tomorrow.... Up bright and early to collect them from school eeeek......

bigTillyMint · 21/08/2013 09:34

Beachy, only if you start earlyWink
What will her website be?

MI, mine were moaning about being bored at times in Turkey until our friends arrived. I would have happily put them back on the next plane and spent the time in solo heaven! We are (yet again) thinking of trying to find a much cheaper version of Mark Warner for next time...

Well I'm more than happy to start early!! What time are the first cocktails being shaken??

Dd1 is just setting up her website to show photographs, art work, inspiration blog kind of thing...she has an unusual name do I wanted to grab the .co.uk while I could. Obviously she can't get married and change her name now Grin

I shall venture home on the last train south, with all the other tipsy people!

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2013 14:41

Oh yes cocktails early repent later.
(un-plans everything for Saturday following.)
Will we need to book for eating ? If eating is the plan.?
Ill need soakage.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 21/08/2013 19:00

Yes we will need to book for eating, but maybe a bit nearer the time?
Not sure if we can reserve a space for cocktails.

Wilbur did a fab job on the Benugo Bar at the NFT with space for drinks as well as table to eat..... Where is Wilbur?!

Beachy, website sounds fab!

Just been hearing about DC of friends who got their A/AS level results... Were they harder/marked harder this year?

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2013 19:14

I hope that is the case BTM as dd is having to have her eng lit paper remarked. Completely shock result.
We are all Shock

OP posts:
motherinferior · 21/08/2013 19:33

Oh Cremo. Quel horreur.

bigTillyMint · 21/08/2013 19:37

Oh Cremo, same for friends DS, doing AS English - I think he is getting his remarked, as are quite a few others. Shock results, not at all in line with course work.

bigTillyMint · 21/08/2013 19:38

Could this be similar to the English GCSE debarcle last year?

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2013 19:38

Oui petit catastrophe.
English teacher is askance ,
Dd can't understand it at all.
From an A* to a D wtf
And it was the Gatsby paper a novel that dd knew backwards ( bizarre child loves Fitzgerald)
We are really WtF???

Well we have ordered up her exam script for forensic examination by English dept.
could be she missed a question
Could be she wrote a brilliant answer but was too creative and missed the pertinent points
Could be she fucked up royally
Could be the markers were negligent
Could be the grade boundaries were unbelievably high and all were marked down( grr)
She got 1 off a top score on her course work .
The whole thing makes me furious with the system.
We are lucky in that she can resit in Ni in January .
