I am unbelievably tired and I don't really know why. Maybe all that cooking from the other night, and I was out last night, but not home late. Or perhaps the overwhelming amount of admin I have to do before leaving France?

DH is in a decline as we have just found out that our neighbours have got planning permission for a 40m extension, the full width of the garden. Those of you who have seen my "garden" will appreciate that this will make us feel even more boxed in I am dreaming of a bolt-hole on the coast....

She's such a nice girl too. Really working on the anorexia but relapsed last year. Grim.

I am working this pm. Out and about in a continuation of yesterday's epic saga. Interesting stuff and giving me cause to think about changing jobs. I really liked what I did yesterday, even though bits were upsetting. Better than sitting in front of the poxy computer all day. Hmmm.

I have also been fretting about how to get all of the "initiatives" that HH gave me last week before I leave, as AB says I have to put them in my objectives for a final appraisal. When HH gave them to me, I said "You are taking the piss, aren't you?" He backed nervously away!

BD there's a fantastic recipe for broad beans and peas in one of the river cafe books... sort of stewed (which sounds yuk) but truly delicious. Will try and find it.

In the river cafe book it's not called a soup and it's not. I add crispy pancetta if I'm pushing the boat out!

I cannot think of anything remotely delightful about broad beans. They taste funny.

I have done cancer and transgender, and now I'm off to eat Chinese food in some no doubt grim place with DP and the Inferiorettes...

Just read your outraged post on the Boden thread Mrs S and it made me laugh out loud. I picture the perennially (?sp?) smug "Johnnie B" reading that thread with his head in his hands, rocking back and forth and keening

I have several Boden dresses, QQ, and they are all great for work, scoopy neck, but not revealing great expanse of bosom. I had expected this one to be similar, but on closer inspection of the picture on the website, it does reveal a wide expanse of skin and ribcage on Johnny's tit-free model.

I had a remarkably frum wardrobe when I lived in TA, QQ. It was just easier than way, although not a little hot in the summer, if I had to go and call on someone who would be offended by the sight of my knees or the fold of my arm near the elbow.

I was thinking more of the rocking and keening than the :modest clothing" Mrs S! No hope of modesty in bosom exposing Boden dress though, ven with a wig on.

And god yes to ready skinned broad beans

BTM - a 40m extension?? Do you mean 40ft? Across or deep? That is indeed a pain, but I guess it goes with the territory.

Well, I stayed up last night to collect some brownie points DH from the station, and dropped him and DS back there this morning, as they were off to watch the Emirates Cup. DD2 and I went shopping, and I got my hair cut - the same bob, but I asked my dishy 20-something hairdresser if he could "funk it up" a bit, in an effort to keep me from the clutches of mumsy. So it's cut higher at the back of my neck, with longer front bits iyswim. If you squint you can't see the grey bits. DD2 liked it, anyway.
