I have just sent an emollient email to a client instead of following my true urge to say 'don't be such a dozy fcking cow, it's not going to work that way and if you'd read the fcking BRIEF I sent you four fcking months ago you wouldn't be making such stupid fcking suggestions now please just f*ck off'....

BD - tell him to grow the fuck up. Angry

I am very hairless too, usually. I have no hairs on my arms. I wax my legs every three months. But I have a small tuft growing out of my chin now and FuManchu's moustache from the corners of my top lip.

Oh crepey outrageous indignation Grin

Yes Ruby (welcome back) he's alright just not engaging brain. Trouble is colleague has no small children (all grownup) and everyone else with children in the dept is married to another academic hence the ability to swan off for the summer.

I have written him an email indicating this is not on. We will go from there...

Otherwise could be looking at the first crepey divorce (if we were married of course...)

Ahem, a question for pet-owning crepeys: what vacuum cleaner do you have/ would you recommend? In the market for a new cylinder cleaner, as we have 2 flights of stairs. Have just got my money back for a cheapo one that lasted precisely 3 months. As did its predecessor. Prior to that, I had a Miele, which did not last very long either. We are a grubby family. Grin

Miele Cat and Fucking Dog. We got ours about three weeks before the last cat pegged it, so I got two more to get my money's worth from the vacuum cleaner. V good at sucking large clumps of fur off the rugs. Our cats are long haired and shed it quite madly, causing DH to say with monotonous regularity, "It's a wonder those fucking cats have any fur left on them." Also works well at hoovering beds. Not that the cats are allowed on the beds, oh no.

We have a Miele C&FD. It has proved most efficacious and long-lasting - I bought it in 2002 and it's still going strong.

BD, your DP needs a kick in the slats. DP here is turning over new leaves, counting calories on My Fitness Pal and talking about getting a bike. We shall see.

I also have a Miele cat and dog, two real dogs and a Miele washing machine that the delivery man told me would last me until my children left homeGrin that was in 2004 and its still going strong.

Have to join in with singing the praises of Miele (even though it must surely be a new depth pinnacle of crepeydom... My miele washing machine and dryer are fab, especially the dreyer. They make me very happy after previous experiences with crapola zanussi / ariston and other such things.

Report
MrsSchadenfreude · 06/08/2013 21:27

Ah, we always go for Bosch for washing machines and dryers. Had a bad experience with a Zanussi once, and it has been Bosch all the way ever since. Think the dishwasher is also Bosch.

I have a dyson, it is, fankly, shite, my Panasonic (half the price and the man in the shop told mt dysons were rubbish) was way better, when it breaks I will by the Miele Cat and Fucking Dog (it really should be called that..)
Washing machine - AEG (good German engineering - sphad since 2003 and survived the move - usually the death of washing machines....

Blimey what a boring post :)

Choir - summer time, and the living is easy.... Love it!

I had a Dyson, which was also shite and eventually blew up in a shower of sparks. Then I had a Miele but not a C&FD (which was, on reflection, possibly a key error) and that also blew up in a shower of sparks after 2 years. Then DH convinced me to buy a Henry Turbo. Which is jolly good and practically indestructible, but weighs a bloody ton and I have had several bruising experiences involving stairs. So then I bought a cheapie from Lidl just for doing the stairs, which gave up after 3 months. I swapped it for another one, just to give Lidl a second chance, but it also gave up after 3 months.

This is too much crepey vacuum history, isn't it? Still, since my post asking you all about your machines, I've now come full circle and have just about decided to stick with the Henry, but sentence DH to doing the 2 flights of stairs every other day for 3 months and see how he likes it, as he got v. crabby earlier when I said I'd fancy a Sebo (pet variant, whatever it's called. Angry

My handyman used to work for Miele, and says its not what it was, with all the metal components now plastic. Just paying for the name, apparently.

Herbs, that's what I reckon. Plus the Sebo pet thingy is £190 and the Miele C&FD is £250 or thereabouts. Can't really afford either of them, if the truth be told. I'd probably just better rip off the stair carpets and get a broom. Grin
