Recent trends which you didn't 'get'

I'm trying to put 3 month old dc to sleep and am pondering over recent styles and trends that I just didn't see the appeal of. One that comes to mind is 'peplum', it will date quickly and looks quite tacky IMO.

Anyone else want to share their thoughts on recent styles/trends that just don't cut it.......

Everytime I see a girl with those bumshorts I try to imagine a teenage boy (or a grown man) who would think that was perfectly normal casual wear in summer. And I just can't!

Not much space for the male organ in those kind of shorts of course. But the poor fanjos of those bumshorts wearers must be suffocating too...

round the pool/beach as a swimsuit cover up. (Only came back yesterday so still pining for holidays here).

Mind you, the amount of sub 25s (imho of course) who looked like they were wearing badly fitted bravissimo bikini tops was also astounding to me. I spent the week pointing out ill fitting bikinis and young boobs to my husband. Oh the irony.

Big yes to crocs and skater dresses. No to anything sleeveless, shoulder cut outs, shorts, baseball caps, anything neon.

According to MN no one is supposed to notice or point at you when you wear a bikini abroad, only when you wear a swimsuit.

To be fair a lot of teens would probably rather not be wearing stupidly short shorts, but that was the inly denim shorts DD1 and I could find anywhere. She refused to buy any, having some longer ones from last year.

Yes to insanely high shoes with platforms under the soles.

The path to the local church is cobbled, watching Wedding guests is very funny. Absolutely no point in a posh dress if your wobbling about like a weeble, you do not look elegant.

And you can point all you like, I have owned one bikini aged 21 and despite being a shapely size 12. I hated it. Swim suits all the way.

WTF is with all the teens in woolly beanie hats when it's sunny (for once)

Saw plump teen today in pleather skater skirt, cropped top & beanie. 'twas truly awful.

This may be a bit old, but as they were still in shops last yr, I have to mention short sleeved jumpers. WTAF?? I hate having cold arms...what's the point of a garment such as that?

Ugg boots - especially in the summer teamed with shorts!! I just want to scream - bet your feet frigging stink!!!

We have just come back from holiday and were having a little game of Fashion Faux Pas in our hotel one night (upgrade on people watching) and spotted some teen girls about 17/18 in the super short crotch eating shorts. It was a buffet restaurant and everytime they stood up they would have to poke around the back to their arse and then around the front and pull out their shorts from their arse and crotch. The funniest bit was some poor teenage lad about 15/16 alone with his parents who was sat staring with eyes popping out of his head, jaw slack open and then momentarily pulling himself together before witnessing the girls short hunting (up their own arses) yet again and them him drooling all over again. 1 and half hours we watched this over our dinner.

Another funny fashion faux pas was a very tall but very slim woman in her late 40's who wore a playsuit down to dinner (with porn star shoes) pretty much every evening. However, the ultimate amusement was when she turned up one night and was sat on the very next table to a family with 2 girls under the age of 10 wearing the exact same neon coloured aztec print playsuit . The little girls looked cute in theirs - the woman just looked daft!

Yes. Also warm jumpers wth 3/4 sleeves, so if you want to actually be warm you have to pair them with wristwarmers.

Peplums, ombre hair, geek glasses, Aztec prints ( I am not a lover of patterns in general)
