Recent trends which you didn't 'get'

I'm trying to put 3 month old dc to sleep and am pondering over recent styles and trends that I just didn't see the appeal of. One that comes to mind is 'peplum', it will date quickly and looks quite tacky IMO.

Anyone else want to share their thoughts on recent styles/trends that just don't cut it.......

Not really clothing but Cath Kidston nappy change bags. Every time I see one I think "oh not again". Actually, pretty much Cath Kidston anything. I've probably upset a load of people there.

See through bags and purses. What's that all about?

Onesies almost don't even count as a 'trend one didn't get' they are just sooo off the style radar.

Dresses/tops with the shoulders cut out. Why?

Dresses that look normal in the front but when you see the back there are stupid cutouts so you can't wear it with a normal bra.

Another maxi dress hater. I'm not sure I have ever seen any one look good in one. I always feel like getting out the scissors and chopping the skirt off at the knee.

A bit dated now but: city shorts. If you wore those to my office you'd never live it down. So I figured they are supposed to be casual wear. So why make them in suit type style. Just don't get it.

Hahahahahahahaha to the panda 'face of the minge' skirt.

Saw a girl in vertical stripey black and trousers the other day. Like a barcode. Really not good.

However, I do quite like my top with the shoulders cut out. Makes an otherwise boring black tshirt a little bit more interesting.

Skater dressers - they will make you look fat, old and cheap. And did I say with elephantine legs?

Cut out the middle man and wear a sumo costume, it'll probably have been made with fewer nasty man-made fibres too.

A second for stripper shoes.
Was at a work do a while back and a girl there had to hold on to a friend the whole night because she couldn't walk in them. Also I don't think they are very flattering, they look out if proportion with the legs of the wearer imo.

I don't get the wedge trainers. I know they are fashionable and make you look taller.

Dip-dye hair. Just looks like you've not done your roots for a reeeeeeally long time.

Leggings as trousers. NO. Leggings are in place of tights. No one wants to see your arse and/or pants.

Oh and onesies and thick dark eyebrows, as mentioned above.

Ha ha- there was a woman wearing Aztec print leggings as trousers with a cropped t shirt and gladiators at kids event today. Made me smile thinking about our list of no no's!

This isn't really a fashion trend, but I've never got that where people have their nails painted all the same color aside from one nail on each hand. x

I second skater dresses. What a fashion disaster. Awful on everyone. Even worse when worn with stripper shoes.

I don't really get false eyelashes either, reminds me of my old hand-me-down Sindy dolls from the 70s (to me in the 80s).

HD brows, fake eyelashes, thick foundation and mahoosive bun on the top of the head.

I have seen this on so many young women of a certain ilk. I think it's the ugliest look I have ever seen.
