Bum! Just join a thread and lock it down! So I'll start the next one.

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 16/07/2013 20:20

I am in a revolting period-related funk.
Just feeling overwhelmed and sad.( not me at all)
I am SO fed up waiting for the hysterectomy . It's purgatory. Nearly a year.

Dh has been slaving at the front garden and most of the grass is now stripped. My hero.
Weeps into tea pathetically .Sad

Good luck with interview MI.

motherinferior · 16/07/2013 20:33

Oh Cremo I am so sorry.

I do not think I will get this job but will make creditable attemptGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/07/2013 21:39

Sorry Cremo. Sad

I am not sure how my interview went. The main panel member was inscrutable, the chair was over excited and bouncy and the third member (who was DH's old boss) kept asking me questions about "upselling" and "strategising". I managed to avoid rolling my eyes.

The interview dress made me look like a fat frump, and I managed to pick up quite a funky top to go with a straight skirt, and looked reasonably presentable.

Other style and beauty news - I have managed to buy a pair of jeans that a) fit me properly and b) stay up. Less style and beauty is the fact that they are from Pruner.

wilbur · 16/07/2013 21:51

Sympathies, crem, I hope tomorrow brings some relief. Blardy hate hormones, I do, I feel they are like some kind of reverse Ecstasy some days, sucking the joy out off the world. At least you have a nice new garden to gaze at while you can't be arsed to do anything else.

Stropperella · 16/07/2013 22:31

Crem, hope the waiting is over soon. Sooo agree with Wilbur about hormones sometimes sucking the joy out of the world.

For the first time ever, ever in my whole life ever - I have gone a little bit brown almost all over. This is because I have been throwing caution to the wind and wearing my teeny-weeny bikini and Not Caring. The last time I wore a similar bikini I was 12 and I started Caring Far Too Much. That lasted for several decades (not exaggerating). If I look in the mirror for more than about 3 milliseconds, I will regress. So I don't look in the mirror. I put on the small garments and rush out into the sun and say "oooh, my tummy feels nicely warm". Grin Sadly, tomorrow I will not be able to continue this important therapy as I have to work.

Upselling, MrsS? Are you sure you didn't do a tiny little eye-roll?

Stropperella · 16/07/2013 22:31

MI, good luck for your interview.

CointreauVersial · 16/07/2013 23:05

MI, best of luck with the interview.

QQ, I'm sure your DS will be fine at Thorpe Park. DD1 and three mates (all 12) went recently sans adults; my only fears were that they would succumb to sunburn or sugar-poisoning.

I've had a really nice day; DD2 went to a friend's after school, so DS and I went shopping for shorts/shoes/teeshirts for his depleted wardrobe. He was absolutely lovely all afternoon; I just wanted to hug him, and kept thinking "why aren't you like this all the time?" He 'fessed up to having a girlfriend for the last two months (I did know, but hadn't dare ask); he was chatty, funny.......ahh, I know he'll be vile again tomorrow, but days like today give me hope.

We got home to find DH asleep on the sofa (he had a ridiculous 17 hour Shock working day yesterday, then was back in the office at 7am this morning), and dragged him to the pub, where we sat in the garden, ate BBQ food and chilled out, just the four of us; twas lovely.

Blackduck · 17/07/2013 06:19

Good luck MI
MrsS you never know. - I got this job when the main person was inscrutable (seriously thought it was a 'no')
We are crawling to the end of term here. Latest news is ds's class teacher for next year is only coming back for a term / the head must be demented what with three resignations and a couple of retirements I think 50% have gone..... All change!!
But now ds will get Amalie teacher which I think could be a good thing.

bigTillyMint · 17/07/2013 06:39

Sympathies, Cremo.

CV, we have to cherish those moments, eh?Smile

BD, that does sound like all change, but it's good to get new blood and a male teacher should be a pleasant change!

Blackduck · 17/07/2013 08:38

The head has obviously done a deal with another school - the guy who is coming in (obsentisibly for a term) is act deputy head and then they will 'advertise' (clearly hoping he will get it). His school are employing an NQT to replace him - looks like he had made it plain he was looking so this really suits everyone. Apparently he is well liked. Ds has him on Friday so we'll see how it goes!

Excuse my spelling - on iphone and no glasses!! (a real crepey moment....)

bigTillyMint · 17/07/2013 08:55

All sounds positive BDSmile (not the glasses moment!)
Am just waiting to see how many will haemorrhage from the DC's sec school this summer - hope it's not as many as last year, though the replacements all seemed at least as goodConfused

herbaceous · 17/07/2013 10:07

The head and executive head of DS's school are both leaving over the summer. I guess maybe it's nice they're all new starters together!

In a desperate pre-holiday move have been following a couple of Tracy Anderson workouts on YouTube. The woman has the hips of a 6-year-old. And massive boobs. Not Right.

Also ordered this 'retro-inspired' bikini from Marks in a variety of sizes. Looks super mumsy on the 'real'-sized model. But less so here. And bloody awful on me, I'll be bound.

bigTillyMint · 17/07/2013 11:16

Like the blue spotty version top, but I don't do big pants as I haven't got the top half to balance them! Unless they are boy-shorts/boardies!

Blackduck · 17/07/2013 11:22

Not sure on the pink...blue is nice....

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2013 13:05

Blimey, those are some big bottoms. I'm also of the boy-short persuasion.

DS was still nice this morning (is there something in the water?)

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/07/2013 13:45

I could wear a bikini like that. It would almost hide my stretchmarks. Grin

wilbur · 17/07/2013 14:18

Like the blue version, herbs, not so keen on the pink. I think the top is a very pretty, flattering style and looks robust enough to knock anyone's knockers into shape and I think the big pants will work with it.

Glad you had a nice time with ds, CV, it's lovely to be reminded there's a good kid in there somewhere.

Hilariously, we have just got out the inflatable pool that ds2 was born in (Birth Pool in a Box!) and it's still in reasonable shape. Am planning to get in it when dh gets home and start yowling and panting on my knees. He will probably have some kind of trauma flashback Grin.

And MrsS, I asked dh the retailer wtf was upselling. He explained it was trying to flog madam more that she was planning to buy originally. He had the grace to look a bit sheepish.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/07/2013 14:23

But this was an HR job! Confused

motherinferior · 17/07/2013 14:50

I like that bikini, Herbs.

bigTillyMint · 17/07/2013 14:53

How did it go MI?

motherinferior · 17/07/2013 15:04

Drop me an email and I will update you...

Blackduck · 17/07/2013 15:28

Had did it go MI?

Upselling and HR? How? puzzled........ :)

Blackduck · 17/07/2013 15:29

How!? FGS!

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/07/2013 16:31

"How would you upsell your strategy to the director?" I interpreted this to mean "How would you explain what you are doing to your boss?"

motherinferior · 17/07/2013 16:52

oh GOD yes, I think you are right.

I do not want to go to DD1's school play. I want to veg at home. I am HOT and Bothered.
