Have just been continuing the clearing out of the shed at new house - a very non-peng acitivty, although satisfying in its way. However, under piles and piles of stuff and crap, I have found a number of sheets of what I am 98% positive is asbestos. There is asbestos in a few places in the house (built in 50s so to be expected) but non free range, as it were, and needing immediate attention. What do I do? I know if it is in sheets it is not the really bad stuff, but it's going to be a shag to get rid of isn't it? Bleurgh, I can feel hours on the phone to the council coming on.
Had my first day volunteering for t'olympics yesterday which was quite fun. Very very glad I didn't take a standing around helping people role as the people doing that look tres bored. I caught sight of myself in a car showroom window in my slacks and appeared to be the same size as the SUV inside.
My Great Plains order arrived and I should have ordered small on the dress - am going to see if they can swap it as it is v pretty and I have to send a couple of other things back as they don't fit. One dress I'm really gutted about - the print is gorgeous but it's huge on top and tight over the hips, not a good look.
I love those snakeskin MJs, oldqueenie, although they look a bit high for me - I need a couple of smart pairs of shoes for work, but tend to go for lower heels as my office has got a flipping spiral staircase that I'm up and down all day so I need a steady base. [Remembers spending most of 1991 at a fave after-work bar with a spiral staircase that I used to skip up and down no problem in heels after 3 martinis. Sigh.]
