Trouble is, the asbestos is leaning up against what should be the potting bench in my shed, so I do need to move it eventually, if I am to fulfil my gardening plans for this house (which is where this thread started, in Herbs' dry shade, I believe). Not going to touch it for now though.

BTM - I am a driver for some of the people who are here to work at the Games - the drug testing overseeing people, official press and photos, the various sports federations who have to check the tennis nets are the right height and the wrestlers are not too heavy etc. Quite interesting, and I get to wave at annoyed cabbies from the Zil lanes.

It has really worked . I made the mistake of Sterilising the bottles and it killed the yeast. Oops!

I was a volunteer at the Sydney games and it was brilliant. We all got free transport ( oyster card type thingy) I was in catering ad we had a blast!

Hasn't it been a blissful day, crepeys? Lunch outside, great BBQ cooked by DH this evening, after which we quaffed wine beside the fire pit (and tried to prevent the DCs setting fire to each other with burning sticks).

And I managed to wash and dry all the post school trip laundry (although it is so long since I've had my rotary clothes line out that it took me 10 minutes on my hands and knees to find the bloody hole in the lawn).

I did some weeding too, Cremola. I didn't need to kneel down to pull mine out, though - a machete would have come in handy.

BMW - even DS would be impressed!

Yes, twas luffly yesterday - DH tackled our garden yesterday and I had a snooze on the sunlounger (and got a bit burned!) before the Tour.

We are off for a family day out today - cycling and the beach. I wonder if we will make it into the car before a DC starts whinging/arguing about something?!

Hope everyone is out enjoying the blue skies. :) I did get to go out and walk the dog, but am mainly staring at the computer screen today. Still, mustn't grumble. It's all for the sake of lovely, cold, hard cash. A posse of elderly rellies (my mother, uncle and aunt) have descended to take dd and ds out to the Boden-on-sea cafe at the v. naice beach. Dd is being an evil teen today, but I hope she has not been evil to the old rellies when they are being kind .

Leek & potato pie
Chickpea curry
Some peach jam as the peaches in our grocers were really cheap.
Big load of pesto which I have frozen in ice cube trays.( get me!)

I have had a tedious yet productive day working on the joys of statistics. The tedium was relieved by constant emailing of MI, who very kindly responded to my rants and wails without telling me to MTFU.

Cremolafoam, I have had to lie down looking at that list. I thought I was productive in the kitchen but that list puts me to shame. Although I have made macaroni cheese tonight, which I hate doing because it creates a lot of pannage and washing up and I hate making cheese sauce.

Strops, the Romanians have a saying, which is "Time passes, salary comes" which I find quite soothing at times. Does it help you at all?

All the other inmates of the Inferiority Complex have had a lovely day, including the Olympic Torch (at which they got VIPped as were guests of one of the Important People involved) and a trip to the seaside. I rewrote three feature articles and planned my section of the recalcitrant Jan/Feb (yes, I said Jan/Feb. The three features were for the Christmas issue) issue of the mag wot I work on. Oh, and I took a pair of shoes to be mended. What is wrong with this picture???
