.....but we are still Stylish (if not Beautiful).

This moving lark is ruinous on the waistline - dp and I have eaten out or had takeaways every night this week (and it shows!). We are having a night away tomorrow (shush don't tell ds), just somewhere where you don't have to navigate an obstacle course of boxes to go to the loo, and you can sit in a comfy chair :)
Then one last whizz through Monday and we'll be good to go.

I looked at those low carb threads too...I'd die as well, I like my carbs too much, but do find rubbish bread makes me bloated....

wilbur · 24/08/2012 22:53

Right, I have to go and pack for camping (must be mad, mad, mad in this weather). All the kit and eveyone else is done, but I so far have only my swimsuit and a fleece that I usually take skiing. Which between them just about cover the UK summer.

Cremola - I have worn to death a pair of black flat Next fake patent shoes this year from their comfy range and am thinking of replacing them with either these (not sure how comfy they will be) or these or these which look mega comfy. I will have to go into a store and try them on though as Next can be a bit random on width I find which is an issue for me.

Think of me on my windy hillside tomorrow night...

beachyhead · 24/08/2012 23:08

Cremola, I'm a big fan of Jones so you could try....these... Congrats on your dd... It will be me this time next year, but I KNOW I won't be opening those results....

Very strangely quiet here - ds has a chest infection so dh has taken the girls to a festival for the weekend and I have gallantly decided to stay home and look after the sick one... Frankly, with the rain forecast and the general mouthiness of dd2, I think I'm quids in.... The fire is lit, for the first time this year, and I'm happy as Harry Larry Grin

Cremolavelodrome · 24/08/2012 23:57

Thanks Beachy and Wilbur
. I like ALL of thoseGrin
Good luck with the camping Wilbur

bigTillyMint · 25/08/2012 09:50

Good Luck with the camping Wilbur! We haven't been once this yearShock and the DC are campaigning to do another package hol next summer....

Beachy, have they gone to Reading? Hope they leave (and you Wilbur) before Monday- have you seen the forecast?!

I have some very, very comfy Clarks flats that I wear almost every day at work. They are bright pink patent leather and one of my lovelies used to stroke them every day!

TheReturnOfStropperella · 25/08/2012 11:32

Cremola, congrats to your dd. It must be a lovely feeling to get those results.
Hope Wilbur's camping goes OK. In my guides to the delights of this area I always forget to mention the cheapskate wet weather joys of the local Dorchester Plaza cinema (tickets only £2.50 during the week, £3.50 at w/e) and the retro fabulousness of the Electric Palace in Bridport - but there is currently a festival of culcha going on in Bridport, so no films, only music there this w/e unfortunately. Sunday's weather is looking pretty good here. Might even be going to the beach again, although I have to admit that we do have wetsuits Grin

BD, glad to hear you have completed your packing marathon and I hope you have a lovely night away with no fish fingers sandwiches. Grin Good luck for the big day on Tues.

Herbs, hope your legs have come back to life Grin

We are planning to paint out bedroom though. < oh the excitement>

Blackduck · 25/08/2012 18:40

Ruby block Rightmove....

We have had a lovely day (in between the torrential rain), I saved 170 pounds by not buying a dress and a coat :)
Had a swim, and now contemplating dinner (although I still feel stuffed from breakfast and lunch - serious diet in order on move). We also looked at bathrooms....

Ds now has an Internet connection so I am getting regular emails...

Gold star for shopping abstinence Smile

bigTillyMint · 25/08/2012 22:40

Cremola, we have just finished painting our bedroom, but waiting for the wallpaper to arrive, the man to measure up for a carpet (yippee!) and the new furniture to be delivered. It's a slow job!

I like looking at houses, but have no wish to move from our house - I knew it was the house for me when we drew up outside to view it more than 13 years ago

beachyhead · 25/08/2012 23:14

BTM - no they have gone to a festival in Northampton called Shambala - family friendly and a bit hippy....there was one workshop on how to make your own nipple tassles and how to twizzle them... I did ask dd1 and her friend to go to that one, but she has squarely declined (although she did say there were quite a few nude people around Confused...

DD2 who is only 7, is probably having a whale of a time....

DH will be VERY stressed.

This isn't our forever house either, the one we are about to leave probably would be in a different location. We just have 'about 10 year' houses Grin

bigTillyMint · 26/08/2012 07:43

Beachy, I'd wish I had known about Shambala - the DC are at the out-laws caravan, just a few miles away. DS and Grandad would have loved the nipple tassel workshopWink

Actually, this is the house I've lived the longest in nowSmile

motherinferior · 26/08/2012 10:53

MI good on ya doing the job app. Dh is on the living room floor applying for jobs ATM Hmm
I work approx 4 days a week and it is The Magic Formula especially if you can spread it over the 7 days.
Never been to Cornwall - but would live too.Smile

Blackduck · 26/08/2012 11:39

Hi all - welcome back MI!
Dp definitely wants to retire to the sea, so possibly Cormwall...
Had a lovely night away, but the degustation menu nearly killed me (glad I didn't have the snails ).
Final push here and all done....mega cold feet, but I guess that's normal.
I am thinking of requesting a reduction in hours as my commute will get longer, but I guess I'll see how it goes first.
