Blackduck · 23/08/2012 11:53

Cremona :) :) :)

Money was transferred today, so assuming our buyers pull their finger out (here's hoping), maybe in new house by lunchtime on Tuesday....

Cremolavelodrome · 23/08/2012 12:01

Wow BD THAT'S GREAT!
Hope you can get some much needed rest this weekend.Smile

herbaceous · 23/08/2012 12:06

Crikey, what a lot of big news going on down today. And some sad news too about Mrs S's karmic circle.

I'm 'working' today at home, with DS in nursery. It was closed for two weeks and I nearly went mental. Miss him, but this is so much easier. Yesterday's delights included him shouting 'DON'T TALK TO ME' to a kindly stranger who said hello to him, and getting into every bed in Edmonton Ikea, playing with every kitchen, etc etc, hiding, running off, etc. Knackering.

In S&B news, I've bought some terribly 'young' short things from Uniqlo's sale for our holiday. These are they. Rather 'fun'.

For yes - we're off to a family friendly group of apartments, around a pool, in 180 acres of olive and almond groves, 30 minutes from Malaga, at the end of September. Cannot Wait.

Cremolavelodrome · 23/08/2012 12:23

Herbs they look comfy and I love the raspberry colour!
V jealous of September hols- sounds like bliss.Smile

herbaceous · 23/08/2012 12:32

I also got them in the blue. And a grey stripey maxi dress. All in a 'large', as Uniqlo are a bit snug, but they all seem a bit big. Especially by the time I've lost my 10 pounds for my holiday. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

bigTillyMint · 23/08/2012 12:42

BD, so exciting!

Oh, and I meant to say I got the Seasalt dress in blue, plus a top and a shirt. The sizing is a bit odd as I ordered all size 10 (maybe a mistake after the AI holiday) - the dress and top are pretty fitted across the top (wide back rather than well-endowed!) and loose around the hips whereas the shorts I sent back were far too fitted around the hips!Confused

Herbs, I often feel like saying that to people (admittedly mainly my own family rather than friendly strangers!) and IKEA is there for children to trash if they don't fancy Smegland - don't worry about it! Mine still beg to go for the hot dogs!

I now need to lose 10lbs too, but cannot find any enthusiasm for a dietSad

Cremolavelodrome · 23/08/2012 12:55

I'm low carbing to lose holiday flaberoo.
Failing miserably tbh.
Like the uniqlo dress. Was always a bit sorry I missed out on the orla kiely t shirts - they looked lovely but sold out in about 10 seconds at uniqlo.Sad

Blackduck · 23/08/2012 12:57

BTM I ended up buying the seasalt dressing blue too (and a 10) - I can get into it, but if my bust grows another mm I am stuffed :) skirt and trousers on the other hand are huge/comfy :)

Blackduck · 23/08/2012 12:58

Oh Herbs Envy of olive groves ....

bigTillyMint · 23/08/2012 13:04

Cremola, I can't do lo-carb - I love my carbsBlush

BDEnvy re the skirt/trousers! And Herbs' hols in September (when it is cheap too!)

herbaceous · 23/08/2012 13:39

And fewer of Other People's Children. It's our last chance for a September holiday - next year DS will be in school, a fact I cannot begin to comprehend.

But only cheap-ish. Especially once the utter rip-off of Ryan Air flights is taken into consideration.

I'm trying to low carb, which goes OK during the week but tits-up at the weekend. I'm also doing My Fitness Pal, with a similar kind of success. My weight in general seems to fluctuate by about 4 pounds each week, taking me on an emotional rollercoaster.

I'm also doing wii fit, but it's so easy it's hardly burning any more calories than filing my nails.

Cremolavelodrome · 23/08/2012 13:42

Tbh my low carbing is not That Low.
Have basically reduced the amount I have been eating by 75%
And can only sustain for a couple of months. Am getting by on a lot of ham and salad.
Miss my potatoes and pastry.
I WILL resistSmile

bigTillyMint · 23/08/2012 16:53

Herbs, as he gets older, you will want Other People's Children around so he has someone to play with and leaves you in peace for a whileWink

Wii fit Good for fitness if you are an OAP. Maybe!

Blackduck · 23/08/2012 17:14

Totally agree on 'the other children' thing - particularly if an only.....I shall be actively encouraging every new friendship I can when we move!!
I have been doing the garden today and looking at how over grown it is and thinking 'not my problem' - is that awful?

bigTillyMint · 23/08/2012 17:16

No BD, I would be doing the same! But then, I am no gardener, just like sitting out there!

wilbur · 23/08/2012 21:24

Brilliant Stropps thanks for the Weymouth tips - forecast has got slightly better so perhaps the beach will be possibility.

Agree about the garden BD - although I would go a step further and dig up anything worth taking. I wish I had taken some of my irises with me, they were so beautiful and are silly prices at the garden centre. Exciting you'll be in on Tuesday though, looking forward to the first posts from the new pad.

Cremola - very well done to your dd, esp since standards have been stiffened this year. Hope the champagne lunch was fun.

CointreauVersial · 23/08/2012 22:51

Greetings from sunny Bruges.

Moules frites - check!

Chocolate overload - check!

Imminent bankruptcy - check!

bigTillyMint · 24/08/2012 11:00

OMG Cremola just found your post - so pleased for your DD and youSmile - hope you are not too hungover today! What As is she planning to do?

CV moules frites etc sounds gorge, but suspiciously not lo-carb!

I have just seen the DC onto a train to Milton Keynes, hopefully meeting nanny and grandad sometime now, and am now on the Southbank with a coffee having got tickets for DH and I to see London Road tonight (only one reutrn for the Curious Incident by the time I got thereSad)

Blackduck · 24/08/2012 11:25

Ds doing last day with my folks (V&A) and then handed on to dp's folks tomorrow. He went from crying every night (misses us), to not wanting to come back - mind you if I was being taken out for lunch everyday (and I don't mean MacDonalds, it was here yesterday) I wouldn't be cry either! Meanwhile breakfast was fish fingers in a pita chez Blackduck, and no plates.....
The only place to sit currently is the bed, and I need to do one last random box and we are done (I hope!!) have a good weekend Crepeys...

Cremolavelodrome · 24/08/2012 12:21

On way into school now to do an A level choosing exercise with Dd
Thanks for all messages of congrats for dd.- she is still lit up I inside. So wonderful her hard work paid off!

Music
And a one year GCSE in ethicsand philosophy which is q randomly offered after school lol

Will let u know how we get on laterSmile

Phew

herbaceous · 24/08/2012 15:52

Realisation 1: If I want an exercise regime that was effective, yet didn't take too much time in each day, but can promise results by holiday time I already had it in the form of the dreaded Shred. I've just done a session. Didn't feel too bad at the time, but now I seem to have no muscles in my legs. Not sure I can fetch DS from nursery later.

Realisation 2: since I haven't really been eating bread, due to half-hearted low-carbing, I haven't had indigestion. I've always been a slave to my Zantac, so this is something of a surprise.

I've always been very 'stuff and nonsense' about food sensitivities/intolerances, so it would be rather embarrassing if it turns out I have one.

bigTillyMint · 24/08/2012 16:16

Oooh Cremola, sounds like a good set of choices. Do they all do 4 A's nowadays? I did do 4, but one of them was General Studies, so that doesn't count!

Herbs, Grin re Shred!

Cremolavelodrome · 24/08/2012 19:46

Herbs- v intéressant ré bread and Zantac.
I am on lansoprasole and am also lowish carbing ATM. Am thinking of getting India and nerys book to help along but had an amazing baby spinach bacon and blue cheese salad for dinner while watching dh and dd devour a curry chip:(
Still it was nice and I feel righteous.
Am v scared of those low carbers tho on other thread. 0-50g per day would destroy meGrin
Dd doing 4 a levels as suggested by school. Actually wanted to do 5 but dh talked her out of it as she volunteers for cruise youth panel and has A Life
Grin
She saw sense. We've all got enough stress on.

On s&b front I need work shoes . What would you suggest Crepesses ? Must be black comfortable and smart. No heels
