CV, I have just added you and some other Crepeys. Just working my way through the list Grin

TheReturnOfStropperella · 26/07/2012 23:30

BTM, you are too kind Grin - I think that might have been a wibble line rather than a rib you sighted Grin. Dd took the photos and you should have seen the ones I rejected. But hell, I will sally forth in my teeny two-piece and take my place among the less than beauteous on the sands of Weymouth and I shall be crepey and proud.

CointreauVersial · 26/07/2012 23:31

Altogether now:

She......Wore......An....Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Red Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.......!

Stropps I am mightily impressed - you look fab. I wouldn't even dare to wear something so small! Cute dog too :)
MrsS as AB thinks you unworthy of contract renewal I'd tell him where to stick his summer projects. (I have a bloody list a mile long, and zero enthusiasm....)
Meanwhile house move appears to have stalled, will get dp back on to it on his return on Monday.
Happy Friday all...

Itwillendinsmiles · 27/07/2012 10:15

I'm saluting liberation and the confidence and the don't give a fuck attitude that comes forth!

Can't join the synchronised menstruation quiche as I'm on more days than I'm off despite the mirena...

I'm going to a local music festival in August so thought yesterday I'd cycle the four possible routes in advance... all went well 'til the final journey home along the canal towpath... which got narrower, more overgrown and of increasing gradient with alternating mud and deep ruts! I did fall off once but luckily due to the overgrownness not in :0

I definitely won't being going home that way in the dark!

Thank you MI Grin Dh is having a good snigger Grin

Have put a few more pics on profile now. And yes, I am supposed to be doing some gardening. It's just that more important things keep getting in the way...

bigTillyMint · 27/07/2012 12:12

Has everyone left London? Well, in our corner at least it is eerily quiet Confused

Am I the only crepey who needs an enlargement app to study Stropps photos properly? Smile

Blackduck · 27/07/2012 12:25

I was expecting more of THE bikini, but there were pictures of children :)

TheReturnOfStropperella · 27/07/2012 12:53

Yep, children and weeds. That is my life :) Well, that and chasing deadlines and shouting at dh for not taking his meds properly ("it says WITH FOOD") and then whining about feeling ill.

Shock at the idea of an enlargement app. But BTM I deliberately made the key photo v. small so the Awful Truth would not be evident Grin.

Itwillendinsmiles: your cycling recce sounded a little.. uncomfortable.

herbaceous · 27/07/2012 13:15

I love your bikini and chutzpah, Strops. And that I could see it, and am thus a friend.

Once I start doing the shred again, I too will wear something like that. All I have to do is actually do the buggering exercise.

DS's nursery is closed for the next two weeks. What the blasted heck am I going to do. He drives me bonkers by about 3pm each day. We're going to the Olympics on Tuesday, and may have to do swimming some other days, as that seems to wear him out pretty effectively....

bigTillyMint · 27/07/2012 13:28

Herbs, remember that boys are like dogs and need exercisng frequently every day - I have 2 of them here ATM (DS and his BFF) and they are on the way to the pool now for as long as possible Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/07/2012 19:23

I played tennis today, first time in 5 years. Only one casualty - managed to hit a spectator in the face with a ball. Moral of this story is, don't sit on the edge of a tennis court to eat your lunch. Especially when I'm playing. My coach didn't call me "La Violente" for nothing. (She was OK, she didn't take it in the face full whack, it sort of fell down from the sky and smacked her on the nose.) Blush Playing again next week. Twice. Grin

motherinferior · 27/07/2012 20:11
Grin
MrsSchadenfreude · 27/07/2012 20:16

It is Friday night and we have No. Fucking. Wine. DH decided to start drinking again this week, so instead of me having half the bottle a couple of small glasses and putting the vacuvin in the bottle, he has been drinking the Provencale Pink as if it were Fucking Tizer. Can you still get Tizer? Well you are all crepeys, so you will know what I mean. There is also No Pimms and Very Little Gin. I am searching the cocktail cabinet with feverish anxiety, but do not fancy Napoleon Mandarine or Blue Curacao. It's a great pity you can no longer send out a small child for a bottle of wine (or jug of beer as it was in my day).

motherinferior · 27/07/2012 20:32

In other news, my book came out today. No, really, cease with the flowers and champagne, honestly, it was nothing (this is dangerously close to the truth as my co-author did most of it. Admittedly this is part of her day job and it isn't part of mine).

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/07/2012 20:46

Can you write one of those for my mother and her generation, MI? Although given that my family is full of political refugees, immigrants and furriners, you wouldn't think she would need one, but she does.

I am still raging about the lack of alcohol in this house. And sulking because I Have Nothing To Drink With My Dinner. DH unhelpfully suggested Badoit with a slice of lemon.

TheReturnOfStropperella · 27/07/2012 23:27

Congratulations MI!

Commiserations MrsS. (Bad MrS for knocking back the PP as if it's Tizer - but that did make me laugh)

I have tried to watch the Olympics thing. But I got bored by the time the Ghanians entered the stadium and I am certainly not staying up until they get to Zanzibar or wherever. Also - Dizzee Rascal - WTF? Am I too old to get these things any more?

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/07/2012 08:48

Yes, many congratulations on the book, MI. I'm afraid the lack of wine made me sour and churlish last night. The bloody caviste is on holiday for a month, so it will either be Monoprix or Nicolas to replenish stocks.

I should be all Pollyanna-ish and be glad that I haven't got a hangover. But I'm not. (Must order more gin.)

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2012 10:06

Congrats MI Smile

MrsS, I cannot believe you allowed your wine stores to become so depleted. Living en France too Shock!

Well, I'm feeling all Pollyanna-ish and enthused about the Olympics after a lovely evening watching the opening ceremony round at friends - I even (silently - wouldn't want to scare the locals) cheered the womens rowing pair on as I sweated my guts out (well, the fizz!) on the treadmill earlier Smile

Stropps, you is clearly dead, man! Dizzee performed at the big torch concert at Hyde Park (that we went to!) on Thursday, innit. Don't particularly like him, but I'd rather him than Paul bloody McCartney. Again!

motherinferior · 28/07/2012 10:27

I am quite yearning to add this to my collection of satchels...

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/07/2012 10:32

BTM - I didn't realise he had been drinking it. Went to my wine stash - nothing there. Angry

As it's Saturday, here's some style and beauty stuff for you:

My American beauty/blingy friend (who is sadly leaving Paris for good this week) raves about Filorga stuff, particularly the sleep and peel night cream/mask. I have seen from the website that it is now available in Marks and Spencer in UK, and it looks to be cheaper than it is in Paris.

And Strops, Nuxe have now brought out a perfume based on the Huile Prodigieuse body oil. It is (imaginatively) called Le Parfum Prodigieux and is retailing here at 45 euros in the parapharmacies.

Finally, I have to say that I don't get all of this "must have" about Mulberry bags. Yes, i think the Alexa is quite a nice casual bag, but wouldn't pay over a thousand pounds for it (or indeed any bag). I got a lovely Coach bag in the outlet mall near Disney for 240 euros, and I have to say that is my top limit for a bag. Or am I just tight? Grin

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2012 10:43

Likey, MI Smile

Am off to Bluewater with DD and her bff next week, so I will look out for the night cream/mask.
240euros for a bag!!!! DH would divorce me if I spent that much Grin I do have a few cheap bags though! Sounds like a bargain though - is that why you go to Disney so often?Wink

Blackduck · 28/07/2012 12:43

O yes congrats MI and cute bag....
I don't get these expensive bags (in any sense), most expensive one I own was £50!
Peace and quiet here -ds at birthday party for the afternoon.

Loved the Bond and the actual Queen at last night's ceremony......now we're seen everything, but ds thought she should have really parachuted in :)
MrsS I suggest MrS needs to replenish stocks pdq.....

CointreauVersial · 28/07/2012 18:23

MI - nice bag, but the word "mini" worries me. I don't do mini when it comes to bags. Congrats on the book; I'm sure you did considerably more than you claim to have done.

MrsS - I'm appalled at DH making you suffer a dry Friday night. Leave the bastard. At least you didn't resort to creative cocktail-making with the Blue Curacao (well, we've all done it.....)

Well, I am exhausted, and a little crispy around the edges after a day on Boxhill watching the Olympic cycling. We walked from the house (about a mile across fields) and had a great roadside spot courtesy of a mate who is member of Headley Cricket Club. We watched Wiggo, Cav and the boys whizz past nine times while quaffing Pimms and eating sandwiches; shame they didn't win.

Yesterday was a full day at Chessington; DD2 and three mates as her Birthday treat, with DD1 and I as chaperones. It was great; hardly anyone there, so no queues (the Olympic effect apparently), so we did all the "big" rides several times. The girls spent the entire day demanding sugary snacks and debating who was going to sit next to who on each ride, but a fun time was had by all, and I didn't lose anyone.

Olympic Opening Ceremony was great - even Dizzee Rascal (sorry Strops). Some dubious fashion choices for the team uniforms, though.

I am going to do bugger all tomorrow; I am officially cream crackered.
