Stone Roses gig - what do I wear!

Very excited about seeing the Stone Roses at Heaton Park this weekend, but having a total style crisis. So, here I am, nearly 40, 2 dcs, live in jeans and converse (not even skinnies) - and this is probably my last chance to relive my twenties!

Given the fact that it will probably pour with rain, please give me inspiration!

We were in the pit section but about half way back of it so on the outskirts of the moshers. only one glass of 'beer' came near us and missed

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/07/2012 16:44

The Irish Independent has an advert from Phoenix Park saying "please everyone wear wellies"!

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 04/07/2012 17:52

I only got covered in my own piss. HTH. Wink

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/07/2012 10:50

It's chucking it down after bright sunshine yesterday. Rain, piss it's all the same to me.....
Sooooooo excited.

FYP · 05/07/2012 11:50

I'm so Envy

Saturday night was one of the best nights of my life. I had -tears- dust in my eyes when they walked on stage. It was raining though so it could have been rain splashes Wink

Have a fabulous time KenDoddsDadsDog Smile

Hi guys, I hope you had a great time. Sadly a young man, Chris Brahney, who was there on Friday has not been seen since. Please take a look at this thread with links to FB etc and cast your minds back to after the concert to see if you recognise him or saw anything that might help - even on the other days. Long shot I know but just feel for him and his family and trying to think laterally about what I can do to help.

bronze · 06/07/2012 00:21

Fyp I may have welled up a little too Blush

It was amazing and one of my biggest ambitions
I was so chuffed they didn't let me down

KenDoddsDadsDog · 06/07/2012 08:17

Absolutely brilliant, it was the best. Also one of the friendliest gigs I have been to.

lamandler · 07/07/2012 11:04

It really felt like being 20 again, and the most euphoric gig I've ever been to. If you are a fan beg borrow or steal to get to see them before they implode again.

And whatever the weather wear wellies as people just pissed where they stood. I blame pelvic floors and dodgy prostates.

Very sad about that missing kid Sad

Yes, euphoric, that it the word. We ended up walking three miles and having an impromptu singsong with lots of other muddy people in Abrakebabra. Grin

lilolilmanchester · 07/07/2012 17:07

Hi guys - would you take a look at my post further down the page, especially if you were there on Friday and especially those of you who were walking, just to see if you recognise Chris Brahney, who has been missing since.

Don't want to spoil your happy memories, please keep discussing what sounds like a fab night - but am sure you'll understand the need to try and reach as many people who were there as possible who might have seen him after the concert.

oshuk · 07/07/2012 17:49

Further up the page, surely?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/07/2012 18:04

I was at Dublin not Manchester. Sorry he's lost and all.

lilolilmanchester · 07/07/2012 18:30

oshuk, depends which way round you have your thread, it was down from where I was - "earlier" maybe it should have said to avoid any confusion! Ah, sorry KenDodd - just picked up on Heaton Park in the OP... was just trying to think of ways of getting to people who had been there.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/07/2012 18:32

Hope he turns up safe and sound xx

oshuk · 07/07/2012 18:34

Ahh yes, I have got mine set to one page so even if its 900 posts long, it shows on one page reading down like a book I suppose. I did share the missing person link on fb btw. Wasn't there something on the news about his phone being located.

lilolilmanchester · 07/07/2012 21:40

yes, apparently he'd lost his phone, gone back into the park to try and find it, which is how he got separated from his pals.

Phone seems to have been traced to Edinburgh, but that doesn't mean he is there, given that he had lost his phone... just that his phone made it up to Scotland one way or the other.

Very sad, and the longer it goes on, the less likely the chance of a happy ending, though of course that is the hope. His family just really need to know what has happened.. hence the flurry of activity to keep it bumped.

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2012 16:04

thanks to all for helping bump.

Latest from FB page not good news unfortunately:

"It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Brahney family I am writing to you all. The police will be issuing a formal statement soon regarding the body that was found in the Canal this morning. At this time we believe that it is Chris, however formal identification has still to take place.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers that you have sent our way. Thank you for all the support, it has given them immense strength and courage.

Please respect the family?s wishes and ensure that they are left alone during this difficult time."
