blossoming · 10/05/2012 06:57

perfect beach body?

Russianred · 10/05/2012 07:03

Morning all. Am very sleepy - DD up from 1-3 and finally settled in bed with me, proceeding to grunt and be a general bad sleeping buddy. Ds up at 5.30 ready for action. Aargh. Have a friend's 3 yr old here for the day after childcare fell through. Might they occupy each other with no fall-outs? Doubtful.

Blue thanks for mint jean advice - there are some Baxters, which always fit me well, that i like the look of. Hope Dd not too miserable with her jabs .

blue2711 · 10/05/2012 07:13

I'd just been gazing in awe at Miranda too bloss!

suburbanstyle · 10/05/2012 07:15

Morning,

blossoming Grin I was about to post that link.

Red Sorry you got no sleep, hate nights like that. I have some mint jeans from Primark which I love! I had to size up to stop them being sausagey I couldn't get the 8's past my knees. Agree with blue, they feel quite sophisticated. I am looking for something mustard to go with them now to look like this.

Congratulations of the new job apuski.

Being the sheep that I am my mouse is hovering over the aggies.

Hopefully · 10/05/2012 07:41

I think Miranda looks just the teensiest bit too skinny in that picture - am sure she is usually less bony. She is gorgeous though.

Apuski congratulations on the job! Great that it came off after all the millions of interviews.

Red hope your day isn't too hellish.
Have just realised we are going on (camping, UK) holiday in about 10 days. Need to get planning - clothes and packing! Last time we went camping we had one DC. Think I might have to send DH on the train to fit everything in....

AmberNectarine · 10/05/2012 07:50

DM are just obsessed with my body double...

FritziGreenEyes · 10/05/2012 08:03

I didn't get on with Aggies at all but think I'm in the minority Wink

OllieinOrange · 10/05/2012 08:32

Bloss I saw that MK pic first thing this morning and thought ''Bloss will like that" She looks amazing.

Red So pleased you are finding the coaching sessions so rewarding. Think Amber has that Cos top? I like it - v similar to my Massimo Dutti one. NYs nice Zara top comes in a yellow stripe???
Apuski Holiday wardrobe planning is at a standstill. Torrential rain here today which just doesnt isnpire me to sort through summer dresses etc. Turns out DH has only paid for two items of check-in luggage (grrr) so it really will be minimal packing for this trip! Will try and do the WIT thing of sticking to 2/3 colours - white, navy and grey (god I'm predictable!)

My ipad has decided it won't let me access Mumsnet Angry Says Safari could not open page as server has stopped responding. Always does this with the John Lewis website but MN is a website too far.

Oh, and my washing machine has made the whole of the top floor (Dutch fact of the day - Dutch houses usually have washing machines in the attic/top floor) smell of cheese and onion crisps - I kid you not. What is going on?

FritziGreenEyes · 10/05/2012 08:45

ollie Maybe your washing machine indulged in a late night snack!? Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 10/05/2012 08:59

apuski Congratulations on new job!

pickled Hope you get some news soon.

red Sending you sunshine so your DCs + friend can play outside. Saw some peppermint skinnies in Zara this week. I wore pastel coloured trousers in the 80s (complete with colour-coordinated tops and a crazy perm!). Can't wear them second time around. I'll leave that to the spring chickens on this thread Wink

blue Maybe DD will have a long nap after her injections and you can have a nice treat?

ollie Can you get yourself in the mood for holiday by self-tanning, painting your toe-nails and maybe starting on sorting out the boys' holiday wardrobe? I found these packing bags invaluable for our trip to SA. Packing and unpacking is a doodle: We each have a colour and it makes packing and finding things in a suitcase so much easier!

OllieinOrange · 10/05/2012 09:18

Yes Fritzi it def seems to have had late night munchies! The smell is really strong. Most strange.

Those packing bags are such a good idea - thanks for the link. Have already made lists for the boys, just procrastinating about my packing.

Pretty pink MD top - thought of you MrsCB? here

FritziGreenEyes · 10/05/2012 09:42

Has anyone ever bought Notify jeans? Can you recommend? How is the sizing compared to JBrands?

Emo76 · 10/05/2012 09:48

isn't Miranda gorgeous! Genetically blessed indeed but never looks trashy. Very natural beauty.

Music fans: I am going to see the Happy Mondays and Inspiral Carpets tonight in Brixton. Never know what to wear to these things - jeans and sensible flat shoes/boots a must!

ollie Muji do some good net bags which I use for packing

Decameron · 10/05/2012 10:23

Emo, I'm jealous, have a great night!

Agree with Hopefully that Miranda Kerr looks a little bit bony but then again she is a supermodel and not a mere mortal.

Blossoming, I have that Pure Co sweater in navy, I like it but DH calls me Chandler when I wear it. He's such a riot. I don't see the 50% off? Very cool shoes indeed.

Looby, I am mostly in skinny jeans or dresses if it is warm, not stylish at all! I can get 20% off the cardigan and then another £25 off so quite tempted. I think Hopefully wore the Me&Em to a wedding, you could dress it up easily. Are you really going to be sterilised? I am giving it serious thought and going to mention it to the GP next week when I am in for something else.

Very odd about the washing machine, Ollie! Did one of the boys stick something under it, maybe?

NY, really like that dress and top. I never have enough time to look in Zara. I've put the date in my diary and will work on DH closer to the time.

Brew for Red, you must be tired. I think you need a breton top to perk you up.

Well done, Apuski. I'd be in DvF and MaxMara all the way if I could!

Pickled, it is very rude that the company have not got back to you one way or another, when you gave up your time. We always got back to people asap with a decision.

We have had the most hideous lino put in our bathroom yesterday. I was cross yesterday as we pay a lot for this place but today, I had to laugh as it is so ugly. DH took DD1 to the bathroom last night and she kept saying, Dad, we have to move to Dublin, it's just awful. He thinks I put her up to it (I did, ha ha). It worked as he told me to call a few estate agents in Ireland. Perhaps I can get a job as the tea lady in my dad's office, like I used to do when I was 13. :o

notyummy · 10/05/2012 10:49

Emo - flares and baggy tee shirt Wink? Or jeans/converse/fitted top? Would say flat sandals but the a. it will probably be raining, and b. you will get your feet squished.

Agree Miranda is slightly on the thin side, but not terribly so. I think I could cope with those worries if I had her looks Grin.

Well done Apuski - excellent news! I love that dress you linked too as well. Very wearable for a number of occasions. By all means get in touch re Lake Garda. I am very jealous! Such a beautiful place - DH is still in a major come down from the 'big trip' and was talking last night about trying to sneak off to Italy or France in the summer holidays....if he is allowed to because of Olympic security issues that is!

Ollie - cheese and onion crisps. Very odd. Def no secret munchers...? Or a poltageist with a junk food problems...?

Red - sorry about the lack of sleep. I feel drained after a long day yesterday and I have had more sleep than you. Hope they behave for you today.

Pickled - It could still be good news. I think I would ring if I was you. I would just say that I was very interested in the position and keen to hear any feedback on how may application and interview had gone.

Hopefully - 10 days camping! Fingers crossed for the weather... I have to admit we are camping wusses. DH and I did enforced hard core camping at various stages of our military careers and it is not really associated with 'fun' for either of us. That said, I know kids love it so we bought a tent last year and did 2 weekends away which were fun. DH has firmly said that anymore than 3 nights is not ever happening though Grin. We may be going to http://www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk/index.html this festival with friends and camping but will definitely purchasing the added 'posh loos and showers' option! I would like to do a yurt, but I don't think they can afford it and then we wouldn't see much of them so we will get some use out of our tent.

Fritzi thanks so much for the link, the shop looks excellent. Will have to check out where if is in relation to where I am staying (can't recall the name. A nice trendy part I think!)

Apuski congratulations!!

Pickled it may still be on the cards.

In the park, back later.

FritziGreenEyes · 10/05/2012 11:38

marsha If you are staying in a nice trendy part, there will be great shops and nice little boutiques galore. Wink

I hate camping! DD can sleep in a tent with friends in the garden when she is older. That is as much as I am wiling to compromise.

notyummy · 10/05/2012 11:42

Hopefully - have just realised you are going camping IN 10 days rather than FOR 10 days. Doh! How long are you going for?

OP posts:
blue2711 · 10/05/2012 12:16

I'm with fritzi on the camping!

Inspired by someone on this thread I have been watching the entire Dawson's Creek box set during quiet times cuddling DD on sofa. Not sure this reflects well on me.

Love that blog mrscb and v chuffed when DH said, 'she looks like you there!' in her pink trousers, leopard shoes and denim shirt combination. ( she doesn't but I enjoyed the compliment).

My best friend has her 20 week scan today so waiting anxiously and with excitement to hear that all's ok and whether it's a girl or a boy. Need to some good news after a hideous run of bad news for a number of close friends.

Karbea · 10/05/2012 12:27

I ordered the cheaper of the two fc sequin jackets and it's just arrived, love it. Bit annoyed I ordered it from John Lewis (as their delivery is excellent) before I saw the 20% off on the fc website, derrr could have saved myself £30 :(

AmberNectarine · 10/05/2012 12:41

I have a very similar Breton from Cos, red, as ollie rightly points out - am wearing it now in fact. Cos has gradually become my go to for basic tops actually, great quality, nice range of colours and just a slightly more stylish edge than Gap, H&M etc. Prices not too scandalous either, c.£15 for a T-shirt which beats £35 in Whistles (though I have a few of those too...)

pickledsiblings · 10/05/2012 12:57

So, received 2 old-fashioned snail mail rejection letters this morning - one for me and one for DD Sad. Still, we can commiserate together whilst watching Dawson's Creek later. Her audition was for a choir that will sing in St Paul's at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration event there. They sent a little gift which is a nice touch.

I hope your friend has good news at her scan Blue.

Decameron · 10/05/2012 13:06

Karbea, return the JL one and reorder!

Sorry to hear that, Pickled.

pickledsiblings · 10/05/2012 13:07

Karbea, John Lewis do a price match. You just submit a request form online and link to the website that has the item cheaper and they refund the difference.
