Hi all!

Sorry about the rain/hairdo situation Hopefully.

I am eating G and Bs Mint dark choc as I write Verity.

Bloody cold here. And wet.

LUXE56 for 15% off at IO plus free delivery.

red I've got the KG pistol-alikes which I like but don't love. Will probably get black pistols in the autumn. I find I often buy the cheaper alternative to something I really want and am never 100% happy with it. Think the lesson is for me to buy less and get the things I love.

decam shred definitely works and I find it fairly easy to fit into my day cos it's not a long workout.

notyummy · 25/04/2012 15:48

Red - they were a bit rude!! Those threads are always a bit of a bunfight, but the picture was completed on yours when Xenia arrived Grin.

Decameron - good luck with Shredding. I have returned the dres for the size down as it was baggy round waist (difficult to see in pics where it appears a bit spray on!!) Your friend wasn't the lady who was relocating to Harrogate was she? (Understand if you don't want to say.) I remember that episode in particular attracted a lot of vitriol. I remember reading the thread because I have lived in Harrogate and felt I have vested interest.

Fritzi - technically I maybe could wear blue dress to work as it isn't that short at all, but its is quite 'out there' and I think I would feel too Christina Hendricks wannabe Wink Love the paint colour BTW.

Oh my goodness Red just scanned that thread, good for posting on it. Dammit you didn't get to keep the clothes, outrageous. I thought Viv was good at sending signed notes with huge boxes (wedding dresses) as a present.

Blue ooh so many uber stylish wearers of the Burberry. Even if it's wet and miserable may as well look/feel good.

NSG glad someone else knows what the game is Grin

Decameron · 25/04/2012 16:45

Back from ballet and I was only lacking the labrador to complete my Barbour hat, jacket and hunter boots ensemble!

Have fun at Bicester, Blue. Great place.

Thanks for the codes, I tried spree43 and it didn't work, will give your 15% off a go now, NSG.

NY, no, that wasn't her, she was moving just outside London. In fairness, she didn't come across that well on the show but she said they took her remarks out of context and Kirsty's snarky comments didn't help!

MarshaBrady · 25/04/2012 17:08

Hmm it's probably only maternity.

Some friends who were on some show do well on threads here. Lucky them! Not sure they are on here in any case.

notyummy · 25/04/2012 18:22

DH and DD doing L2 6W6P together in the family room at the moment. She has a balloon rather than a weight and is working really hard at the mountain climbers. So cute! Grin

Hi everyone. I'm horribly behind. And have just had the iphone for posting this week.
Love the jacket though fritzi, I can really imagine you in it.
red, that has just reminded me why I just stay on this thread. You write so eloquently though. Well done on responding to them.
Hope it goes well for you suburban. I'm sure you'll look great.
rufus we are colour twins, and as fritzi said a few pages ago, portia is my style twin! Haven't been brave enough to order acid yellow anything yet though!
marsha, I ordered a Burberry trench and it came up really big.
Sorry to hear there's another flood warning verity. You must be beside yourselves.

Loved the heart shaped biscuits story ollie, not so much annie's comment! Gross!
I have the 15% code too, but grumpy beat me to it decam. Like the renoir top a lot. Hate this weather. Wearing waterproofs today and when I went to put on my lovely cashmere lined leather gloves, I found a horrid faux leather pair instead. Someone (mil?) has switched them. By mistake obviously!
Have a quiet night in without dh, and possibly without Jillian. I worked very hard in my time off today and forgot to drink anything. Have a headache, so will take it easy. Hope to find some lovely links!

AmberNectarine · 25/04/2012 19:13

Have purple hand as a result of my adventures with Dylon. You're supposed to wear gloves appaz. Still, also have nice lilac ombré effect t shirt so not all bad. Tomorrow I'm planning on attempting a Marant style tie-dye effect on some old jeans with bleach (Marant ones sold out) - what's the betting I come on saying 'got chemical burns but the jeans are nice...)

red good for you. You write really well and handled that negativity with good grace. It really pisses me off when people on here pour scorn on others. I know you plan to return to work, but my aim is actually to quit in the next 1-2 years and be a SAHM. I'll be 28. Is that my life written off? Or actually will I be doing what fits in best with the needs of my family and my own desires? Yes, my DH could run off with another woman and leave me with half plus future earnings destitute but I married him in good faith so I'm pretty confident he won't. What right do any of us have to judge the decisions made by others?

On a more positive note, is there anything better than watching a toddler splash through puddles in a raincoat and wellies? Almost makes up for the absence of any need for S/S shopping. Almost.

rufus101 · 25/04/2012 19:49

Bloss go for the Zara tee in acid yellow! You'll look great. I loved it with my indigo skinny j brands and navy Zara blazer.
I find it more soothing to be financially independent. I think along the lines of suppose they die though as opposed to them doing a runner! (if he tried that, then he would be dead alright!) DH is very impressed with me at the moment. A little gurrier tried to nick his bike at the weekend. Long story short but I happened to be there and hopped in my car and chased him down. Got him in the church car park and he threw the bike down and ran to safety. (dont mess with me!)

suburbanstyle · 25/04/2012 19:56

Phew am feeling a lot better now. My lovely mum took DD so I could go and buy some new makeup this afternoon. If nothing else this blog has earned me two child free shopping trips. Blue I saw these and thought could be a good floral jeans substitute.

Thank You for all the great party tips, have done a big Sainsburys order including Hoola Hoops, Chocolate Coins and Prosecco. No pass the parcel or slow present opening, seriously FLE that sounds hideous.

Red well done for sticking up for yourself so eloquently. I suspect I shall be gibbering in a corner with gin next Thursday.
Like Blue that article really resonated with me at the time. I had just become a SAHM. Was not a teacher, but really felt that I was the only young, well educated, healthy relationship, no benefits, stay at home by choice mum in the world and was so relieved to find there were others like me out there Grin.

Annie the Topshop maxi skirt you linked a while ago has been reduced to under you £25 budget.

AntPants1 · 25/04/2012 19:58

Go red and rufus. Red so pleased you fought your corner and Rugus get you, fighter of crime!!!

bloss agree that you could do acid yellow.

So had a very successful trip to Westfield. Bought this leather jacket from Mint Velvet and also this scarf (which matches exactly my house of colour colour swatch)

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/slate-leather-jacket/leather/mint-v/fcp-product/1640

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/apricot-tassel-scarf/scarves/mint-v/fcp-product/1646

Thank you NY for the new thread.

verity I really hope the flood passes you by.

Am so over this rain.

GeorginaWorsley · 25/04/2012 20:01

OOh horrible weather.I like rain if I am lay in bed snuggled up reading, watching it but don't like getting wet!
Don't want to go back into boots though, tis nearly May.
Will peruse Zara for slouchy linen tees.

FritziGreenEyes · 25/04/2012 20:06

Go rufus! Saw the acid yellow T in Zara today and thought of you Smile

verity Fingers crossed the flood won't affect you this time.

deca I feel your pain. Took a pic of myself in changing room today and realized I am less slinky 40bumbloglady but a lot more pear-shaped than I thought.

blue Have fun shopping tomorrow!

bloss Be kind to yourself tonight and drink lots of water.

ants Was very excited to read about your Spring-ness yesterday Smile. Treat yourself to some Chanel June nail polish. It will look great on you!

red Would love to see a pic of you from that photoshoot! Bet you looked fab and all the bitchiness on that thread was due to jealousy Wink

hopefully Have you got your hair cut shorter?

I'm invited to knitware sample sale at my friends' tomorrow (where I got the shearling-chunky-knit cardi from last autumn). Wish I could take you all along! Would be so much fun. There will even be champagne and nibbles Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 25/04/2012 20:10

ants Gorgeous leather jacket! You now need the nail polish to complement your new scarf Smile

AntPants1 · 25/04/2012 20:20

Oh fritzi I loved that shearling knit cardigan on you. It is gorgeous. Am very jealous! And yes yes to Chanel nail polish!!! Will certainly track that down know I know what should suit me.

Decameron · 25/04/2012 20:37

Well done, Rufus! How I laughed at gurrier, haven't heard that term in a while.

Lovely jacket and scarf, Ants.

Hope your headache lifts and you find your gloves, Bloss.

Georgina, is there any news about your friend's husband?

Fritzi, have fun tomorrow. I never bothered losing the 5lb left over from DD2 and have a bit of a muffin top. I am alright elsewhere but it is annoying me now.

I am having a large glass of wine while waiting for DH to relieve me so I can go to the nursery mums night out. It started at 7.30 but DH said this is way too early to expect him home. Hmm Anyway, wearing pistols, very skinny jeans and Whistles silk top. If they are all about to leave just as I arrive, I'll be most displeased. I'm sure I'll persuade someone to order a bottle of prosecco with me.

Russianred · 25/04/2012 20:40

Oh ladies you are lovely - Suburban and Blue I'm glad it resonated with you both at the time. Suburban I still feel that way from time to time (the 'only one' thing); I don't quite fit in wherever I am. All of the women last night where of a similar age, with similarly aged children and are all working. They seemed a bit agahst when I said I wasn't. Then I made a really big deal out of returning on Monday (albeit p/t and on a temporary contract) instead of just being relaxed in my attitude. Neurotic much?! Fritzi there is a blurry pic on FB - I'll hunt it down and tag or some such for you. Sounds like you are all prepped for your shoot Suburban - have you decided on an outfit yet? I was very taken with the Oasis bag on your blog btw.

Go Rufus, excellent thief-apprehending skills. I love the fluoro top you bought and have also diagnosed myself as a winter. May take a look on Saturday... Bloss I hope you can apprehend the swapper of gloves.

Will be very interested to hear how your trousers turn out Amber; v creative!

So pleased you found your Roxy Ants - that jacket is bloody gorgeous.

Am v Envy of your sample sale Fritzi; the shearling number is so, so lovely.

Having been caught in many a deluge in the last few days (still without the car) so am very seriously contemplating this raincoat which I think Bloss found for me ages ago and I have been looking at it ever since. I know it's loud and so on, but the number of cagoules I have seen in burgundy/grey/black in the last few days (pass three primaries on the way to pre-school) has made me feel slightly rebellious. Is it too bad?

Will be back - am planning for my first tutoring sessions next week and am absolutely loving it >

FritziGreenEyes · 25/04/2012 20:40

deca Hope DH is home soon. Your outfit sounds great!

blossoming · 25/04/2012 20:41

Wow, well done rufus. You must have given him the fright of his life! I guess people don't expect to be challenged, or followed (by someone dressed in chanel, or whatever!) I did used to wear yellow, before having my colours done. It could work again. And I have a blazer shaped hole in my wardrobe. Give me a few weeks and it will be exam time, so time off for me and loads of shopping. Am so very very bored with my winter clothes.
I have a lipstick crisis too. I have 10s of expensive lipsticks in my drawer that I have liked in the shop, then realised they don't work when I get home, so I have used them once. Wore a Dior one today, which was raspberry, and liked it this morning, but by this afternoon I looked like my mother again. And I've run out of popmode. Why is it so difficult?
And another thing, the kerastase arrived. I washed my hair with it Saturday, and repeated. By the time I dried it, it looked like someone had thrown oil over me. Really embarrassing. Thought I'd used too much, so Sunday, used less. Same thing happened. Had to go to DS's swimming bag and fetch a children's one to redo. Hair looked lovely. So anyone want a Bain Satin 1? Used 3 times?
I have settled on Aussie Mega now which I can get in the Co-Op. Oh the glamour.
Duchess of Cambridge wearing 811s in the DM today here. Still can't get my head round the way they flick out at the bottom. Might do a big jeans trying on session next time I'm in London.
ants, that is one gorgeous jacket. And what a colour! Lucky I already have a leather jacket!

Russianred · 25/04/2012 20:41

Have fun Decam - lovely sounding outfit.

NSG what is it about the Sweeps that you don't like? MrsCB do you still rate them? Am I right in thinking they are the ones that were mistaken for the real deal?

blossoming · 25/04/2012 20:45

I think you would look great in that coat red.
I am feeling low because I spent the day in my craghopper I think. Stylish/dramatic it aint.
decam, hope you make it out soon. Don't be tempted to play catch up though - dangerous game!

Have a great night out Deca.

Enjoy the sample sale Fritzi. What with that and the predicted weather over your way at the weekend, I am tempted to move!!

Well done Rufus.

Really like the pink jeans.
Red, I think that yellow raincoat would be lovely on you.
Bloss, I used Aussie too when I run out of Kerastase.
I'm now on my second glass of wine, better apply makeup while I am still able! :o

Decameron · 25/04/2012 20:50
