AntPants1 · 09/05/2012 20:15

Aim to get flight around lunchtime to get there for early afternoon I think- reine and EMO I'll PM you some flights to ponder. Am so excited. Am THRILLED MiM will be able to make it. Glad the post labour chat went well.

blue I have just taken delivery of grey aggies - they are lovely. Envious of your discount...

Apuski very very well done. Definate justification for a treat!!!

blossoming · 09/05/2012 20:51

Just bought this with 50% off in charcoal. Seemed a bargain.

Dauphin · 09/05/2012 21:10

Oh hell....Hmm......Now of course, I want it more.

Fritzi - have never been to Primark...(haven't lived, obviously), but maybe want something a bit more spesh....

OllieinOrange · 09/05/2012 21:11

Blue and Ants are the Aggies comfortable? Am thinking I should get the grey ones as fed up looking for leather ones. Is there a discount code floating around???
Ants I tried those MD shoes on last week, well tried too. I dont have wide feet but could not get my foot in it. Very odd fit and shape.

If I make Dublin, I would be there for two nights too. DH and I have a night away on Saturday (!) so will have a chat through logistics and dates then. He has a heavy week work wise so not bothering him in the evenings with all my social and kitchen refurb plans. Smile

Apuski great job news. Well done.

Russianred · 09/05/2012 21:37

Dauphin I quite like this sequin jacket. 20% off with MARIE20.

Does anyone have any strong feelings about mint coloured jeans? My coloured jeans radar is on the twitch again. Along with my breton one.

Congratulations Apuski - brilliant news. What kind of treat are you thinking of?

I am reluctant to buy more work clothes as I'm in them so infrequently, but what would be suitable for my bottom half - am wearing blouses/lace tees on top. Cropped trousers, perhaps? Can anyone recommend?

The teaching is going really well Fritzi - it's lovely to be able to dedicate one hour to a student and make tangible progress. One of the girls I worked with today was so pleased with what she produced, she rushed off to photocopy it in order to show it to her Grandma at home. DD is fine, although having a bit of (unrelated) separation anxiety, I think; waking up through naps and the evening calling out for me. You are a very lovely sister to be so considerate. Were it me (and I guess it could be were I to have one more), I would lap up any cleaning help. But I appreciate that it is tied up with all sorts of other things.

Hello lovely MiM - the Lisa top is very you, I think. Lovely. Sounds like the listening service was a really cathartic thing for you Good to hear you sounding brighter.

Off to hunt down non sausage-leg inducing mint jeans (possible?!).

Karbea · 09/05/2012 21:39

Russian very weird that the fc jacket is so much more expensive than the other one.

Russianred · 09/05/2012 21:43

Yes, I suppose so Karbea - I guess the FC one has smaller sequins and is more draped/muted. The IO is a bit too boxy/spangly next to it I think. Not sure this warrants the doubling of the price though.

notyummy · 09/05/2012 21:47

Here is my Zara dress. It doesnt look good in the picture, but I like it on me!

This is my lovely soft top - although the colour way I got it in is sold out online.

I can't see the sparkly jackets online that I saw in store I'm afraid Dauphin.

You have exciting plans, mrsCB. I'm sure you could be fantastic at it. Are you planning to be self employed or to get some experience in a department store or somewhere similar first? How does one find people to style, I wonder. I quite often find myself wanting to style my friends/ colleagues but I would never say anything as they are generally the type of people for who clothes/ fashion, etc just aren't a priority.

By the way, I loved those Autograph sandals in magenta (stunning colour) that you linked to on another thread the other day. I am absolutely not buying at the moment but am looking forward to possibly buying something similarly glamorous for my sister's wedding in October. I have a couple of potential dress options (new Me and Em ? glam enough) and a gorgeous VW Anglomania in a bright pink. Will be asking for advice later, no doubt.

everything- can see what your nanny is finding mat clothes tough as she is so petite. In my experience, they tend to be large to size. TS the best I can think of. Perhaps she could just try a size or two up in normal jeans with a bump band or dresses over leggings.

MIM- birth debriefing sounds like such a sensible plan and v therapeutic too, no doubt. It sounds as if quite a few others here had v traumatic experiences. I was talking to a friend whom I haven't seen for a while at a medical conference today. She has a DD, nearly 1 and opted for an elective CS (she was always adamant that this was what she wanted). I mentioned that I was considering this and she said 'it's the only way' with a totally straight face which made me laugh! I had three straight forward SVDs and I am starting to feel that I have been too lucky so far if that makes any sense. Add to that the relaxed, planned nature of a CS and the fact that I can get sterilised at the same time and it seems v tempting!

ollie- gorgeous DVF the other day. I agree with reine- I want the blue although all the colour ways are lovely.

decameron- gorgeous Goat cardigan. You must be v stylish because if looks far too smart for me to ever wear!

bonsoir- your reference to Liberty print the other day reminded me of some gorgeous Liberty print shorts that I saw at a French boutique in S/pore (can't remember the name). I have always loved Liberty prints and they were gorgeous. However, DD2 was in a strop and didn't want to try them and DH baulked at the price so we had to leave them :( I have ordered all in one waterproofs for her which I feel she may get more use out of)!

fritzi- you sound like a lovely sister. I completely agree with the others that it is harder to recover/ spring back to shape the more DC you have. I popped back with no effort at all post DD1 and was wearing cropped tops and high jeans. I would definitely not do that any more post three! I'm sure she would really appreciate any practical support. How about a bit of shopping/ home cooking. Your mum should be ignored as her views are irrelevant unless she is intending to provide the support herself.

apuski- huge congratulations on the job. You must have really impressed them!

blue- quick question for you. I was thinking of re-ordering the asks aggies in the grey. Do you have a discount code? I think you mentioned 25% off or something down thread.

bloss- lovely cashmere jumper!

Hello and welcome to donna!

loobylu3 · 09/05/2012 22:02

Lots of crossed posts due to me taking about an hour to send!

Same q a ollie, I see.

red-pretty Cos dress and nice colour. I like the look of a lot of Cos things but don't think the shapes would suit me at all. Will maybe have to try but no stores around here, of course!

NY- those Zara tops are great and good quality for the price.

ApuskiMcClusky · 09/05/2012 22:32

Back again.

I'm rubbish at spending money when I am actively trying to it seems (I know, should be kicked off the thread!), and have failed to find something to buy. I need to get my working wardrobe sorted really, I've been struggling to put outfits together I feel good in, so need to have a few more options. I've realised that Maxmara, DVF and Joseph are only marginally more expensive than Jaeger and LK Bennett so might look at some lovely dress investments - as long as I cam wash them!

Thought I'd draw your attention to this, an alternative to Me and Em maybe?

Glad to hear the tutoring I'd going so well Red, and that you're finding it rewarding.

Bloss, I agree that this weather is doing my head in!

Ollie, how's the holiday wardrobe planning going? I haven't even brought out my summer clothes yet with the weather being so rubbish, but we'll be going to Italy in five weeks so I'd better start appraising what I might still need. And NY, I completely failed to corner you for Lake Garda suggestions, we ate staying quite close to where you were so I may PM you for your top tips when I get my head into holiday planning mode.

Fritzi, it sounds like your sister has got so much on her plate, it's great that she had you to worry about her. It does sound like some outside help would be good.

NY, love that Zara dress. I laughed at your story about your dd calling 999! Is that an inevitable parenting experience?!

Am well jell of Dublin talk, I am still to resolve one way or the other with DH. NY, keep me in the loop on the PMs and I'll see what I can do!

Best post this before there are a million cross posts!

pickledsiblings · 09/05/2012 22:45

Apuski, your 'well jell' comment made me smile. Very well done on getting yourself a permanent job with a package that you are happy with and hours to suit. Hope tomorrow goes well for you. Still no job or audition news here but I'm pretty sure we are past the 'no news is good news' stage.

NY, love the flirty Zara dress Smile. Please can you keep me in the Dublin loop too.

Dauphin, not sure what colour you are after for your sequin jacket - gold one here.

pickledsiblings · 09/05/2012 22:50

Oh, a tip for those of you in serious den-building mode: two sleeping bags zipped together along their shortest length Smile.

Russianred · 09/05/2012 22:50

Is anyone around to talk me down from breton-buying? I think this one is a pretty good model.

ApuskiMcClusky · 09/05/2012 22:54

Thanks Pickled. That's rubbish that you haven't heard anything yet, I hope they're just being inefficient. That's one advantage of applying through recruitment agents, they have no shame in haranguing the employer for news if it's all gone quiet. Would you consider phoning for an update?

pickledsiblings · 09/05/2012 22:56

I think it's a bit too boxy and besides that your next one should be yellow and white stripes.

pickledsiblings · 09/05/2012 22:58

I emailed HR today Apuski but still nada.

Russianred · 09/05/2012 23:07

Thanks Pickled, job well done. Some places are just incredibly slack for a variety of reasons, you know. I was really used to schools responding on the day of an interview and this one only got back to me over a week later. You never know.

pickledsiblings · 09/05/2012 23:14

Thanks guys. DH has come up to bed so it's goodnight from me xx.

blue2711 · 10/05/2012 06:45

Just a quick one before the DC wake up. ollie and looby yes I find aggies v v comfortable and love them. Someone asked me I'd they were Ash the other day. I'm afraid the 25% off was just for bank holiday Monday but asos do seem to do 1 day codes quite a lot and I get notifications so will keep you posted. Having said that I've seen some aggie love on another thread so they may well go....

Re. peppermint skinnies - yes I have strong feelings in favour of them! I bought the TS Jamies in the pale pink and then peppermint as an afterthought but actually much prefer the latter. Actually feel quite sophisticated in them rather than just on trend. Gorgeous with cream / white and navy and saw a woman wearing them with a bright pink silk top and looking fab, so I am going to try that next.

Congrats on job apuski, well done you. Some new lovely working outfits definitely deserved.

I actually have two sequin jackets and much prefer the softer, drapier one of the two, I think a very structured, stiff sequin jacket is quite hard to wear without feeling like Michael Jackson (I'm not sure if he ever wore a sequin jacket but this I always the comparison that springs to mind.)

I hate hate hate this weather too. And DD's injections today. Grumpy!

blue2711 · 10/05/2012 06:50

So glad you're enjoying the job red - one on one can be so rewarding. No advice re work ''bottoms' I'm afraid, I can't do formal separates very wel and always seem to wear dresses, though I do have a few pencil skirts that work well.

Hope you hear soon pickled!
