My name is Season and I'm a sizzler. I'm on my second diy course of Glycolic Acid 30%.

Sign in here if you're using GA, SA, LA, or MA, or indeed some new hardcore A with a mellow melt and searing sizzle. Smile

cybbo i keep meaning to tell you that a gravy mark i had on my collar boneish area has nearly gone.

check out the pre-sizzling pic of me with the blue dress on at the bottom of my pics and compare it to post-sizzle ones. it's still there but only about 25% as dark as before.

Just to let you all know that I did 2 minutes on Thursday, same again Friday, same again Saturday and 3 minutes on Sunday with no visible ill effects. My skin is looking fabulous. I'm going to leave it a full week, using plenty of sunscreen and face oil at night and then do it weekly for 6 weeks! If all goes well, I plan to repeat the six week course 3 times a year.

CalamityKate · 24/04/2012 00:43

Right!

What is this stuff, where do I get it and what are the chances it burns my face off??

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 24/04/2012 01:06

I wish you would all stop talking of your extreme peeling. This Shock face is making my lines worse. I really will have to get Boris.

Calamity see what these ^^ crazy people are doing, think you can be safe in the knowledge your face won't fall off.

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 24/04/2012 01:06

Bloody Boris! I meant Botox of course!

mumto2lovelygals · 24/04/2012 07:55

I did my 3rd peel for 5 mins last night and wow what a difference. Skin feels really soft this morning and brown spots faded. Scares the hell out of me when you put the neuatraliser stuff on and it literally does sizzle!

Thanks Season, god S&B costing me a fortune but I look 10 years younger (in my own head anyway).

sansucre · 24/04/2012 08:13

Reporting for duty!

Did my 2nd SA 10% peel on Sunday night. 5 minutes was as much as I could bear as I think this one sizzles far far more than GA, of which I've done 2 peels previously.
(Indeed, I found the neutraliser sizzled infinitely more than the GA did!)

I still have blackheads but think I'm finally making so progress with them. Skin much softer and clearer too although am peeling quite heavily on both nostrils - not a good look.

Best of all though, I got complimented on my skin for the first time in almost 5 years and it's generally considered that I have a glow about me. I'm happy with this although of course, I'm curious to see what the next peel brings. Roll on the weekend!

SeasonOfTheWitch · 24/04/2012 08:47

we need some kind of compliment-count gadget - do you reckon MQ tech would oblige?

i wish this wasn't anonymous - i would love to see everyone's results.

solomum i was puzzling the Boris typo for ages - thought you meant you would use that Boris book to do your Shock faces, dorian grey-stylee Grin

calamitykate lots of us got ours from bravura but you can get it from ebay etc. tbh it's so cheap anyway i'll prolly stick to bravura as i feel more confident i know exactly what sizzle shizzle i'm getting. www.bravuralondon.com/skin-peels.html

you'll also either need the neutraliser or get some bicarb (same stuff) and prolly some oil (eg sweet almond oil) for afterwards if your skin feels a bit tight. some of us rate the hyathingie serum but i haven't tried that yet: www.bravuralondon.com/treatment/dry-mature/hyaluronic-acid-serum-99-50ml.html

don't forget your sunscreen wherever you're sizzling, everyone. (i'm using the paula's choice spf45 at the mo)

Yes, at the moment there aren't too many though. I seem to get small batches often. My skin looks nice today though Smile

CalamityKate · 24/04/2012 09:31

Thank you Season! Do I want the 30% or the 50%?

SeasonOfTheWitch · 24/04/2012 09:38

sansucre I had peeling on nose every time after 20% SA, but, after 6th session definitely a lot less peeling, guess previous peels have melted away all that dead skin Grin

TheGruffalosbitch · 24/04/2012 10:16

Phone playing up so will try again. I'm on week 4 of my first course, I understand that after week 6 u take 2 weeks off? Then what? Do I just start all over again? Is it a continuous treatment or should I limit it to a few times a yr? Help I'm confused. Plus has anyone used it on stretch marks have u seen an improvement?

TheGruffalosbitch · 24/04/2012 10:42

Sorry should have mentioned I'm on 30% GA

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 24/04/2012 10:51

Stretch marks, you say? I shall add them to the list of hands, feet and knees.

I may advertise on Gumtree for someone to come and paint my whole body. Maybe I can apply it like a spray tan? Grin

hotsauce · 24/04/2012 11:04

I found this thread on Sunday and it sucked me right in. I ordered some 30% GA from Ebay on Sunday night and then read the Daily Fail article yesterday and had a bit of a wobble.

I have always had bad skin, I still get spots now but my main concern is my open pores, I look like an orange Sad. I am pleased to say though that I do not have any wrinkles or grey hair though (I'm 42).

choceyes · 24/04/2012 11:45

I have dark asian skin and have a few pigmentation marks (acne when younger/a bit of darker skin above the mouth). Do you think this would work for me? Get more even toned skin?

WeesaD · 24/04/2012 12:32

Choceyes, I don't think anyone here can advise you on that, and I think it would be wrong to.... I think the best idea would be to read the (long) document on peeling that someone posted a link to - please can you post it again!!

bopfactory · 24/04/2012 13:14

Just done my first 2 minute session (apart from the patch test of course Wink) with the 30% GA... how long is it before you see any actual peeling? (if any). Definitely felt 'the sizzle' when applying the neutralizer, and skin felt quite tight straight afterwards so I've applied sweet almond oil.

Seems OK but I'm wondering if I'm going to be all peely tomorrow! Or if I'm not, does that mean it hasn't done its job?!

Whitershadeofpale · 24/04/2012 13:39

bop I think most GA sizzlers aren't getting any peeling until they do a longer peel a few weeks in, (if they peel at all) but us SA burners seem to peel worse at the beginning with it decreasing as the weeks go on.

I'll be doing 10% SA 5th peel tonight for 6mins.

I'm already using MD formulations continuous renewal complex every night. It contains 12% glycolic acid. Am just wondering if it would be safe to try a salicyclic acid peel as well or if it would be asking for trouble?? [cowardly emoticon]

blobtobetter · 24/04/2012 15:14

I did 8 (actually 10 as I got caught up in Silent Witness) minutes SA and my skins doesn't look any different really. I have a couple of tiny peeling bits (over spots generally) but my blackheads are still very much in residence.

Not sure if to go up to 20% or to swap to GA.

I was so hoping for something that would make an improvement!

CalamityKate · 24/04/2012 15:56

Right I've ordered a bottle of 30% and some of the neutraliser. I've already got some Sweet Almond Oil. I can't wait!

Does it come with instructions?
