My name is Season and I'm a sizzler. I'm on my second diy course of Glycolic Acid 30%.

Sign in here if you're using GA, SA, LA, or MA, or indeed some new hardcore A with a mellow melt and searing sizzle. Smile

get thee to bravura and buy the Glycolic acid 30%. might be worth checking with them re the rosacea tho. i'd prolly get the 10 or 15% night cream too - it's brilliant and great value.

and get a big pot of bicarb from sainsburys too.

Am well behind the times....so can someone tell me if this comes with instructions on how long to use the 30% acid for at the start and how often etc? And what's the difference between LA GA etc....which is better??? Thanks.

MissFoodie · 22/06/2012 10:36

30% GA
just done peel 4..........and, er, still no difference.........????
pores look a bit "cleaner" but still there.......

SeasonOfTheWitch · 22/06/2012 12:51

always yeah, well the bravura one many of of use comes with full instructions, anyway. If you look oop thread there's links which explain the different types. briefly - GA is good for lines and pigmentation, SA is better for oily, acne-prone skin but will also help with lines and LA is for sensitive skin. They'll all exfoliate and should make your skin look cleaner and more glowy etc. Start with the lowest % of whichever peel you go for unless you have skin of leather.

MissFoodie weird! maybe your skin is already too good?! No difference to fine lines? It's that that I noticed most.

I'm going to do another SA 10% on my nose tonight.

OP posts:
MissFoodie · 22/06/2012 14:13

will persevere, maybe a do a 2nd course, then try the 50% - have you tried it yet?

alwaysrunninginheels · 22/06/2012 17:12

Most noticeable on fine lines you say season.......flexing the credit card now!!!!! Sounds great! Mmmmhhh maybe 30% GA starting point??

SeasonOfTheWitch · 22/06/2012 19:59

No, I haven't missfoodie as i was supposed to be having a break over the 'summer' Hmm

always yy, that's what i used first. get the night cream too if you can. great value and really effective, imo.

OP posts:
alwaysrunninginheels · 22/06/2012 21:09

Have your link to the night cream please?? Didn't see many creams at all!

SeasonOfTheWitch · 22/06/2012 21:15

here you go: www.bravuralondon.com/glycolic-acid-15-night-treatment-50ml.html

tis a mare to find. there's a 10% one too. i've used both.

alwaysrunninginheels · 25/06/2012 22:52

Thank you. Ordered and waiting with glee to get started!!!!! Have high hopes......

NoGoodNamesLeft · 30/06/2012 00:47

Ladles and gentlesmells, I have sizzled! (I was BubbleBobble and posted for advice further up thread.)

Ok, I didn't ackshoeally (it's a word) sizzle, but I did my first peel tonight with 10% salicylic acid. I did it for slightly longer than a minute as I set my stopwatch when I started applying it as per instructions, but wasn't done at the 1 minute mark. More like 2.5, oops.

It stung a bit, but no more than the garnier salicylic acid pads I used to use. I've gone for this one as my post chemo skin is supposed to be more sensitive, even though I've not noticed anything, and I've had good results with salicylic acid products in the past. Plus, I have redness, large open pores and slight acne still, so it seemed like the best choice for my skin type too.

I want to do it again! Must I wait a week, reeeeallly? Bah.

SeasonOfTheWitch · 30/06/2012 10:23

yay nogood! was wondering about you. i deffo noticed that SA stung more on application compared to GA. the GA burn is when you neutralise but obv you don't do that with SA.

i hope you find it helps. deffo do wait a week tho - it's meant to make the effect more erm.. effective Grin

i'm going to get back on the GA 30% tonight. i've noticed that my 11s are creeping back altho i'm still happy with the rest of my skin, thanks to the 15% GA cream i think.

Which peel would you recommend for GordonRamsaychin deep gash-like lines plus one very deep side-of-the-mouth line which gives me a lopsided look?

NoGoodNamesLeft · 01/07/2012 13:14

Puffyankles, I am new to this myself but someone more experienced should be along shortly to help. At a guess, I would say the glycolic acid.

Just reporting in - I was out all day yesterday and completely forgot to put suncream on. Luckily the sunshine was intermittent and I've not burned or reacted.

My skin definitely feels smoother and I've noticed that my open pores across my cheeks look smaller and some old red acne scars around my jawline have noticably faded. If this is the effect I get after one peel, I am dying to see what happens after the next one.

I'm even contemplating getting a stronger solution for my back and shoulders as I have some acne there (I am a paragon of loveliness, me) and a very weird skin condition that results in little white scars randomly appearing, like raised freckles with no pigment. Even a team of dermatogists couldn't tell me what they were, hehe. They don't bother me because they really aren't that noticeable, but I'm curious to see what effect a peel would have on them.

MissFoodie · 01/07/2012 23:46

i've done 3 peels with 30% GA, due a 4th tomorrow, no difference for me I'm afraid....had previously done 10% SA but had bad peeling

SeasonOfTheWitch · 02/07/2012 08:37

nogood That is very very naughty re the sun! You MUST use it from now on or you'll fry your poor skin!

Sounds like you're already getting a great result. I really saw a difference after just one too.

re the white scars - i think my sister gets the odd ones of those on her legs too. She tans A LOT tho (we're like total opposites with me with my glow in the dark white skin!) so I assumed it was something to do with that.

I just can't believe this missfoodie! maybe you need the 50%? How many mins are you on? I think I started at the maximum (3 mins?)

puffy try the GA 30% but not sure how well it'll work if the lines are deep. worth a go tho.

OP posts:
puffyankles · 02/07/2012 09:03

Thanks Season and NoGood.

Lines are Marianna Trench deep but will try the GA 30%. Slightly nervous of my chin falling off.

MissFoodie · 02/07/2012 09:57

6 mins!

NoGoodNamesLeft · 02/07/2012 11:46

I know, I am a naughty person. I have loads of different sunscreen too because I have to use it if my chest isn't entirely covered by clothing. I have mini bottles, roll on bottles, spray stuff, loads of it. I had a brain fart and just didn't bring any out with me.

I think I might start thinking of sunscreen as a primer and putting it on with my make-up. Does it still work if you do it that way? I don't wear heavy foundation, usually just concealer and powder.

SeasonOfTheWitch · 02/07/2012 11:55

get thee to the 50% now missfoodie

nogood yy, that's what i do - i use a spf15 as a moisturiser on grey days and a spf45 on sunny days and then put make-up over the top

OP posts:
NoGoodNamesLeft · 05/07/2012 22:03

I have been norty again and did my 2nd one a day early. I'm going away tomorrow for the weekend and didn't want to take it with me.

I've noticed that the SA seems to bring out spots that have been brewing away under the surface. It happened with my 1st peel too, but then they dried up and disappeared quite quickly.

How often are we allowed to do a course, btw? It's six treatments and then a break of how long before we can do another?

puffyankles · 06/07/2012 12:30

The bottles arrived today!

Did a test on the back of my hand and the skin did not fall off so a good start.
Am going to try the peel tonight after leg wax and Oven Briteing the oven hope I don't get mixed up

before pic

SeasonOfTheWitch · 07/07/2012 11:45

Grin at the before pic puffy - maybe the oven cleaner might be a better bet. How did peel 2 go?

nogood only one day early is prolly ok, i've done that before. yeah, it can deffo bring spots to the surface but hopefully that means lovely skin thereafter. i think it's a month between course. think it says on the leaflet.

I restarted my 30% GA this week. 4 mins. Am actually wondering if I should try the 50% tho.

OP posts:
puffyankles · 07/07/2012 11:53

Did the 10% GA last night, left it on for one minute, fizzed a bit with bicarb. SlatheredDior serum on to the deep lines. Face did not fall off.
Now, I might be a little impatient but why was I not looking like Angelina Jolie, hmm, hmm?
No difference at all this morning although I was wafting and draping myself over the sofa waiting for complements.

Do I have to wait until next Friday to do it again?

NoGoodNamesLeft · 08/07/2012 21:52

Yes! Wait. It's hard waiting though, isn't it?

I am so pleased with how my skin is looking. Even my DP has commented on how smooth it looks and how my acne scars have faded.
