My name is Season and I'm a sizzler. I'm on my second diy course of Glycolic Acid 30%.

Sign in here if you're using GA, SA, LA, or MA, or indeed some new hardcore A with a mellow melt and searing sizzle. Smile

Seahouses I think SA is more for acne/oily skin.

Becka I tried the vitamin c crystals but didn't dissolve them enough..it was like rubbing sand on my face. when you mix it with hot water do you use a teeny drop of water? What do you mix it in..it's such a teeny amount .

Read an interesting article on vitc ..bit sciency but vit c seems to be AMAZING for skin. Interesting that it says if your plasma vit c level is already high then topical application doesn't have much effect.

AmazingDisgrace · 24/05/2012 23:30

Have done second 50%GA. Its very stingy but the 11's look reduced, skin smoooooothe and faint nose to mouth lines gone

brighthair · 25/05/2012 03:38

I recommended the sa peel to a colleague. She ran over and hugged me today Blush
Had v bad acne on her back and chest and the peel has got rid of all the spots, she was amazed by it. Now she just has some red scarring but it was really really bad and she had tried a lot of products

brighthair · 25/05/2012 03:47

Before peel - you can see the red marks/spots on chin

After 4 sessions

Rubbish pics but I forgot to do before and after proper ones Blush

FoxPass · 25/05/2012 11:17

Miss Foodie I got the 1.5 mm as it's for my stomach.

thenightsky · 25/05/2012 19:26

3rd sizzle just done... left on for 4 mins. Skin amazingly smooth and some spots that were threatening to surface seem to look less angry and red.

ggirl · 25/05/2012 21:43

becka I tried again wiht my solgar vit c crystal and hot water..could not get them to dissolve ! gave up and applied grit to my face .
How the hell do you get yours to dissolve?

VashtiBunyan · 25/05/2012 21:51

Ggirl, are you doing aid and retin-a at the same time? I want to do both but I had a look on the bravia website at the instructions and it said you couldn't use both at the same time.

I've ordered the acid but haven't ordered the retin-a yet.

VashtiBunyan · 25/05/2012 21:51

That should have been aCid, not aid.

TBH I am not doing either religiously atm.

You can do retin a whilst sizzling but not on the same night . I gave retin a a break and went back to it the next night. I did the sizzle only 3 time s. I just am not organised enought to wash my face early in the evening to allow me to sizzle..such a lazy cow.

I am however am loving euerin hyaluron stuff ..have really noticed an improvement in my skin. Bravura do a cheaper one which i will buy when i finish this one.

I am also using retin a probably 3 times a week.

ggirl · 25/05/2012 22:09

actually you prob can do it on the same night..just i didn't

VashtiBunyan · 25/05/2012 22:25

What does that euerin thing do? I'm assuming after I've stripped all the dead skin with the acid I need to nourish the skin underneath. Is that what the retin-a will do? I have various night cream samples I'm could use up.

Sorry if these are stupid questions.

ggirl · 25/05/2012 23:36

no not stupid at all
eucerin contains hylaraunic acid which helps boost your collagen which helps the wrinkles and just evens out skin tone ..makes skin smoother

retin a has same idea I think ...

vitamin c is also good for collagen boosting but because it is pathetic and dies when it's exposed to light etc it needs to be fresh..hence the crystals etc

it's all mind boggling but I must say my skin looks miles better since the ga peels /retin a and eucerin stuff.

am almost happy to go without makeup now

ggirl · 25/05/2012 23:37

retin a also helps wiht oily skin and spots..good for blackheads and wrinkles..winner!!

SeasonOfTheWitch · 27/05/2012 08:29

ah, it sounds like it's not just me who's seen a big improvement in their skin recently. I have been a bit haphazard with this course of peels tho did do one last week but my skin is looking better and better - not sure if it's the collagen magic starting to happen from the peels or the bravura serum thingy and GA night cream too but i'm loving it!

i'm going to lay off the peels for a few months over the summer so i'm hoping i won't be a haggard old crone by the end of it.

what's the dillio with the vit c - just do it now and then as a treatment?

OP posts:
ggirl · 27/05/2012 10:21

dunno about the vit c seasons...have been reading about it..there are loads of reviews on makeupalley about it but they make up homemade serums with it..I'm still looking for idiot guide to vit c

SeasonOfTheWitch · 27/05/2012 12:22

Wow, just been reading up on vit C and it does sound amazing. Just need to figure out what/when/how.

Hi gals not been on for a while and have also run out of Bicarbonate so haven't sizzled.

Doesn't feel right doing it when it's hot for some reason either!

Skin still more even toned though . . .

ggirl · 27/05/2012 16:07
and he sells the 10%serum already made
WeesaD · 27/05/2012 21:10

I don't know. I am naturally suspicious and sceptical. It's so easy to blind the layman with science to sell a product (after all that's what the cosmetic companies try to do with their nano some, etc isn't it?)
Here's another one with a patent pending product....
From what I've read and understand, the only way to actually change the cells themselves and boost collagen creation is with Retin A, and the problem with that is just putting it on the skin isn't enough as it doesn't penetrate deep enough (used to work for a consultant dermatologist).

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 28/05/2012 11:17

another one here whose usage is sporadic/haphazard, but the peels and hysluronic acid ahve defin tiely improved my skin. Was chatting to an aquaintance at teh weekend, who was talking about something and she said 'people our age, i mean my age, you're obviously much younger' ( I am older than her i deduced form something she said about music she is most definitely not the flattering tye, so i think the stuff has definitely done summat good for me, even if just by deluding me!

Beckamaw · 29/05/2012 18:00

Back with more Vit C info for gg! Grin

You can dissolve in hotter water. I started with water just off the boil. Sometimes you have to stir or swish it round a bit. If you use too much Vit C you can end up with a 'saturated solution' where no more can dissolve. I only use a little bit of the crystals. Maybe you were using too much?

The logic with the regularity is that you use it every 4 days. Just pat some on like a serum. You can use it daily but it stays in the skin for a few days so it's unnecessary.

The premade serums are crap because you open them and expose them to air and they become ineffective. They are also usually very expensive.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 29/05/2012 18:19

Clearly I am total sucker - ordered the electonic version of the HLA from Harrods, has been delivered to DH's work, and he is bringing home tonight ( jsut told me it was a 'large light box')
