Samantha Cameron - words fail me

Why has she dressed so badly for this US trip? From the old mac she wrapped round her at the airport to the utterly hideous curtain she appears to be wearing at the state banquet tonight. I am embarrassed for her. Michelle Obama may be twice her size but she is ten-times better dressed.

I think Sam looks shy and overwelmed.
I don't think she is some little wifey submissive type at all.
Her hair lets her down I agree,sort of spaniels ears ish,just hanging there.But always lovely and shiny.
I like Sam,yes she may have 'come from money' and the aristocracy but she is obviously talented and she has certainly not led a charmed life.
No aristocratic parents or all the money in the world can take away the pain of losing her son.

I used to have a party dress a bit like SC in the 70s. It was green. I was 6. Personally, I think SC is ghastly, whatever she's wearing.

There was noone more ghastly than the dreadfulness that is cherie blair. Omg what a mess, no class, no manners. Awful. Sam is a class act compared to her

chipstick - you are right to remind us that Sam Cam is a superstar in comparison to Cherie. And really, I would like to support Sam Cam - I don't want to slate her. I just think she hasn't yet mastered her look and poise in international gatherings - Work In Progress Smile, but we live in anticipation. Cherie was just never going anywhere...

Sam has a lot of potential indeed, and she is lovely and slim so can get away with so many looks.

Michelle O does look hefty tho - and she always seems to stand with her fists clenched (a bit like George Bush always used to as well - same media adviser???) and jaw pursed as if she is spoiling for a fight. Her evening dress as stylish, but spoilt by a massive tacky looking neckace.

Michelle O was simply stunning in that blue/grey dress. I stopped and made the Shock face when I saw her on the news this morning.

I thought Sam Cam was meant to be terribly fashionable in an 'edgy' sort of way??? (well, edgy for someone married to DC which isn't very edgy at all but that's another discussion.....)

I like Sam cam but I agree her hair let the outfit down, I like that she seems pretty and natural and not all coiffed and primped and over styled.
Ok maybe she didn't get it totally right but you know I think she s doing ok.

Edgy and Sam Cam are disjoint sets. Edgy is left-wing, out-there, not-a-bit groomed, unfriendly, verging on the ugly and has no place in the Big Society.

I wish I looked as good as either of them. And am faintly disappointed that two amazingly bright women are reduced to clothes horses to support their hubbies. Anyone know what Angela Merkel's husband even looks like, never mind wears to international diplomatic events?

I am probably in a minority but I really didn't think SC looked that bad at all. I liked all of her outfits and thought she looked good in the pink top most of all. The VB dress was nice but something about the fit was not quite right. All the horsey comments are just mean and unecessary.
MO has a scouse brow but otherwise looked good.

MO is a really beautiful woman but she usually looks as if she's dressed in the contents of a Quality Street tin.

Yes, this thread is all fluff and not exactly highbrow, but that is just bitchy and unnecessary.

I am not a fan of the Cameron's politics but I actually quite like SamCam.

LOVE Bonsoir and Verity's outfits, she'd look fab in those.

SamCam would have looked fab in Anna Wintour's chanel or she'd really suit the Victoria Beckham evening stuff.

Agree re. her hair doing her no favours.

I don't think she photographs terribly well - suspect she's a lot prettier in real life.
