BRILLIANT woman in Cheltenham did it.

It hasn't worked yet and apparently it can take up to 2 weeks to take effect, but should be apparent in a couple of days.

Didn't hurt - was expecting it to be like those monstrous dental injections. 6 injections, no pain, just slight scratch.

Yay! Hatchet-face BEGONE.

Will report back when I start looking like Gisele Bundchen

Well I have just dragged myself out of bed after a night of coughing child and I am going to book a consultation.

I have always tried to fight the vanity thing but long chats with dh and ds yesterday involved some reflection upon how sad it is that I have kind, happy insides and yet my face wears an air of fuck off.

There is a good clinic locally -two actually - so I will make appt next week.

You all sound uplifted in both face and mood. It sounds very nice. And dh just wants me to be happy. Bless.

LovelyDaffs · 26/06/2011 07:34

You won't regret it Pagwatch, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. At 43 some of my wrinkles are quite deep, so it'll take a while for them to go, but I look so much better. Dhs concern was that I'd be expressionless, but it doesn't work like that. Let us know how you get on.

noddyholder · 26/06/2011 07:39

It is amazing he way it makes you feel happier shallow but true

2sugarsandadog · 26/06/2011 07:58

Crikey. Was wondering if 46 was too young ....

Thornykate · 26/06/2011 08:17

Pagwatch if you take arnica orally for 5 days before your appt it will minimise any bruising too although there isn't usually much anyway Smile hope you enjoy your treatment!

Al0uiseG · 26/06/2011 08:47

Yes, it's the best mood lifter I've ever had, better than Fluoxetine without the horrendous side effects. It's banished my pmt moods completely.

TattyDevine · 27/06/2011 11:16

Yay I've just come back from my appointment with Glancey. (She's a bit Wildensteiny wouldn't you say?!? Grin )

She's done a lovely series of injections and I'm going for top-up in 2 weeks. Told her about my darling Ravi who I think got his botox and saline a widdle bit mixed up last time. She says she has a lot of people from Zen Clinic coming to her.

Anyway will update. Should see it kick in by Friday I reckon, certainly by the end of the weekend.

otchayaniye · 27/06/2011 11:22

oooh, oooh bookmarking this as it's a present to myself after this birth. Are you in London Tatty? Looking for somewhere in London

TattyDevine · 27/06/2011 13:41

I'm not but my Glancey does a London clinic I think hold on

Here's her contact

Her credentials are excellent.

I'll let you know how I get on. Should have a good idea by the weekend but going for a "top up" or follow up 2 weeks today so if I get topped up the true results will be apparent then.

Its a lovely clinic, very discrete, professional, and friendly.

TattyDevine · 27/06/2011 13:47

Otchayaniye, whoever you end up going to, if they do your 11's right you will love it. It will give you a new lease of life.

For the same yearly cost of a gym membership (if you have 2 areas done up to 3 times a year) (that's how I justify it to myself anyway!!! And you only have to turn up 3 times a year for 15 minutes to get results!!! Grin )

otchayaniye · 27/06/2011 14:07

many thanks - I'll come back to this in a few months. I have a derm friend but he's in the States. Good luck!

SimplyTes · 27/06/2011 14:45

hello, i had juvaderm last week and I am very please, the lines have almost disappeared and now I just have one small bruise which only my mum noticed so I told her what I did.

DH v cross as I didn't discuss it with him and we haven't mentioned it since - not v healthy I know but I can only apologise to him, for what its worth the appoitment was in our family calendar!

Mr Yelland (surgeons are know as Mr not Dr can't remember why) used 2/3 of the "stuff" and I am back there next week to get the remaining 1/3 injected. It hardly hurt at all (my DS2 was 10lb 3oz and I had a natrual birth so a tiny prick in my chin is nothing!)

Anyhow good luck to those going for it!

Al0uiseG · 27/06/2011 14:54

Whereabouts did you have it? Apart from your chin. Amazed that it didn't hurt. How lovely for you :)

SimplyTes · 27/06/2011 14:57

Nowhere else - I have had lines going from the corner of my mouth going to my chin........they really are no longer there! He left my dimple as said it was a real part of me, anyhow I love the dimple!

Nuffield Hospital in Woodingdean, v close to Brighton.

LovelyDaffs · 27/06/2011 15:50

Mr Yelland used to be on 10 years younger didn't he?

SimplyTes did it hurt? I have the same lines, but also a huge crater line between lips and bottom of my chin, which I'd like to have done.

I'm having microdrermabrasion laager this week, so will see how much difference that makes but fillers are calling me.

livvyliv · 27/06/2011 16:28

Hi
I had Botox for the first time last week(tues)on my 11s and tbh they're still there.my forehead is smoother in the middle but frown lines still there.should I have noticed a difference by now?
I have a follow up appt in 2 weeks but thought most people don't usually need a top up.IS that the case?

LovelyDaffs · 27/06/2011 16:30

It took exactly ten days to work on my 11s, but they are quite deep so although I don't have movement they are still there to some extent (but not as bad). You need a little patience.

noddyholder · 27/06/2011 16:39

Mr Yelland is fab!

TattyDevine · 27/06/2011 17:49

Are they simply still there in a "shadow of things gone by" kind of way or are they still actively there in that you can still frown?

If you can still frown, you could probably do a top up, but if you are completely immobile and they are a shadown of past frowns they might go, or you could have some filler to smooth them out (which lasts longer and will last much longer in conjunction with Botox.

Mention at your top-up for sure.

winefairy · 27/06/2011 18:24

So envious of all those that can get to someone recognised or recommended. After much soul searching, I'm really keen to get botox on my hideous forehead wrinkles (damn you, frowning) but don't know of anyone of any repute in Edinburgh or even Glasgow. I'm sure there are many but how do you find them?

And good luck, Pagwatch. Know exactly how you feel.

dearprudence · 27/06/2011 23:23

I want to know how you find a reputable practitioner too. How do you know they're any good?

Al0uiseG · 29/06/2011 11:03

Tatty How're you looking today?

TattyDevine · 29/06/2011 11:23

Good! I've got a lovely lovely brow lift from it. Its not quite kicked in to the extent that my forehead is totally smooth yet when I raise my eyebrows but its nearly there - I reckon by tomorrow morning. I can still frown though it feels weirdy, but I don't think she will achieve full freeze on the 11's and will have to top me up Monday week. But I was expecting that - its a bit of a strong old frown!!!

Grrrrrrr Hmm haha Grin

TattyDevine · 29/06/2011 11:30

Just to add I've got two (one on each side) subtle "comma lines" about 1.5cm above the outer arch of my brow when I raise my eyebrows which we decided to keep, as the alternative was to have some brow droop and I dont want my brows lowered in any way nor risk brow droopage.

I suppose I could have them filled but they are subtle and add character (and hopefully believability) and movement to the forhead. And they don't abruptly start or stop as such.

Al0uiseG · 29/06/2011 11:39

Oh that's good, I've got used to the lift now and want a bit more, I can see how the addiction starts tbh. Really tempted by cheek fillers too.

I wonder where it will all end? Wink
