I have just had botox! <stares in mirror>

BRILLIANT woman in Cheltenham did it.

It hasn't worked yet and apparently it can take up to 2 weeks to take effect, but should be apparent in a couple of days.

Didn't hurt - was expecting it to be like those monstrous dental injections. 6 injections, no pain, just slight scratch.

Yay! Hatchet-face BEGONE.

Will report back when I start looking like Gisele Bundchen

I have wooden blinds at the front of the hosue and bedrooms.

Nothing for the sitting room, We have great big folding window things and they look nice, plus we are not overlooked.

DP keeps trying to sneak in VILE cushions. He bought home some leopardprint ones once Hmm. Not having it Grin

showgirl barking

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 10:59

PredictableDullard · 20/06/2011 11:11

its only teh daily mail getorf!

basically it is waxing your entire body.

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 20/06/2011 11:22

i feel sorry for DP

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 11:25

Oh is it! God knows didn't want to go to showgirlpussies.com or something.

Oh I can't be doing with extreme waxing. It's bad enough getting eyebrows threaded.

stallion don't feel too sorry for him, he gets his own back trailing cement through the house and leaving piles of drill bits everywhere.

DiNammic · 20/06/2011 11:26

but you sound a bit like his mum ( tis me)

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 11:31

Oh I am not that bad. We have discussions about what goes on in the house, but you should hear him harp on at me about the state of the car (a shit tip) and leaving all the lights on and windows open and (in the winter) the heating on full blast all the day long.

Oh god we sound like a barrel o'laughs. We are not as wankerish as we sound, just usual domestic niggles.

MayorNaze · 20/06/2011 11:43

oh gosh

this is like the big hair thing

you are all at it

i went away for a bit, i return and you are still all talking about it

i do look so very old...

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 11:53

I didn't get the big hair at first. I thought it was a pile of shit, I looked all early 90s news reporter.

Then someone on here said that you need to use it when you hair is 95% dry, not from wet. That works.

I now waltz through life with a permanent hair tossing action, it's all full and bouncy.

Al0uiseG · 20/06/2011 12:02

Bouncy hair, unlined faces and showgirl waxed bodies. We are so going to get told off by someone soon.

I for one am not going back to the days of corrugated perms and housecoats though.

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 12:05

I am just making up for lost time.

I looked like something the cat dragged in in my late teens and 20s.

Crap make up, glasses by Olive from on the buses, home haircuts and dye jobs, godawful clothes.

Don't see the harm in squandering a bit of money on frivolities.

Alouisereg I have just booked in with Glancey next week. Hope she's good! Nice to know you are happy, that's something. I'll let you know how I get on!

psiloveyou · 20/06/2011 14:29

Envy I had mine done the day before you GetOrf. No change at all I'm still a hag.

DiNammic · 20/06/2011 14:32

my frown line is so severe i reckon i need filler

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 14:38

ps the woman who did mine did say it takes up to 14 days to take effect. Have you got an aftercare appointment booked for then? I have one for 2 weeks and if it is not howI wanted she will top up some more for free.

Di it may well have such an effect that you would not need filler, the woman who did mine is in late 40s, she said she had two deep grooves and thought she would need filler, but the botox was enough on its own in the end. She had a very smooth (albeit not freakily so) forehead.

psiloveyou · 20/06/2011 14:52

My doc said from 4 days but that it could take up to two weeks. It needs to work soon though. If I don't come away from the mirror soon my house will fold under the filth and my dc will starve.
I have got a follow up appointment on the 30th. Same as you more for nothing if I'm not happy.

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 14:54

I think however in 2 weeks time I will look perfect brow up, and wreck of hesperus from brow down, am afraid I will tell her to botox my entire face Grin

OP posts:
DiNammic · 20/06/2011 14:55

hmm.

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 14:56

Oh G'waaaaaaaan

have a look on google and see who's near you

You can go along for a consultation for free.

If you don't like the effect it is reversible.

What's stopping you?

You'll be asking for a Nefrettiti lift soon

And you'll go to the dentist and she'll say "open wide please" and you'll mutter "I fucking well can't"

Al0uiseG · 20/06/2011 15:57

Haha! Glad you've booked in, she does look a bit scary but she is very lovely. :o

I wonder if it's like going to the hairdressers when they pick up a hank of hair and mutter "who did this to you?". She might scrutinise your skin and slag off the previous needle wielder!

noddyholder · 20/06/2011 16:06

It is the strangest thing suddenly seeing yourself as you were about 10 years earlier! You soon come to get used to it and just expect it and that is why before you go there you do have to accept that it may be costly as you will want to repeat it.

Al0uiseG · 20/06/2011 16:12

My friend described it as like having your first E. It's amazing and lasts for ages, subsequent ones don't last quite as long :o

GetOrf · 20/06/2011 16:14

I keep going to the loo all the time to inspect my face in the mirror.

If you never hear from me again it is because I have crashed the car on the way home, as I have been looking in the rear view mirror instead of watching the road Grin

Oh I sound so VAIN don't I but it is great.

And I can justify it. I had started smoking again from the stresses of the last couple of months (10 a day) and stopped at the weekend (I can give up smoking at will). So, 10 a day at a cost of £4 a packet is £120 a month. Will pay for the botox habit easily. Plus stopping smoking will also contribute to the vanity habit as smoking causes grey hag effect.
