BRILLIANT woman in Cheltenham did it.

It hasn't worked yet and apparently it can take up to 2 weeks to take effect, but should be apparent in a couple of days.

Didn't hurt - was expecting it to be like those monstrous dental injections. 6 injections, no pain, just slight scratch.

Yay! Hatchet-face BEGONE.

Will report back when I start looking like Gisele Bundchen

I never had an E, or any other drugs.

Perhaps obsessive surgery and beauty treatments will be my drug (just say no!)

Everything in moderation, including moderation ;-)

IslaValargeone · 20/06/2011 17:25

I'm glad this has worked for you GetOrf. I had it a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately am one of those it doesn't agree with. Still sporting droopy eyelids.

DiNammic · 20/06/2011 17:28

i thought the first lot disappeared fast.
the eyebrow droop scares me

noddyholder · 20/06/2011 17:36

No droop here thank god
Was my biggest fear but doc says if correctly positioned it doesn't happen.
Mine is the reverse my lids lifted a tiny bit

IslaValargeone · 20/06/2011 17:36

It is scarey, I look bloody awful.

IslaValargeone · 20/06/2011 17:38

Thay all say that. However I have read everything going lately on Botox. Even Allergan say that they cannot guarantee no droop even in the most expert hands.

SimplyTes · 20/06/2011 17:40

Hello, after much thought I have booked myself a consultation this Thursday with Dr Yelland at the Nufffield (reccommended by MNetter) for Juvarderm ultra (a type of filler)!! Anyone had it?

I have wrinkle free forehead and eyes but grooves from cormer of mouth down to chin - too much sun me thinks!!

The consultation will be followed by jabs if I so desire - v excited!! Will update if requested.

noddyholder · 20/06/2011 17:40

If you are prepared to be very conservative with the first dose then it can be avoided. I had to go back after 2 weeks and the results were faint so he topped up but no droop. He said he had never seen it. I do think it is tempting to have too much and some practitioners do give the full vial but I was terrified it would droop so was a bit of a chicken.

noddyholder · 20/06/2011 17:40

Simply I went to him He is fab!

SimplyTes · 20/06/2011 17:51

Hi noddyholder, did you have the juvarderm ultra? His lovely PA, Ginny, said you get a whole vial that can be used, does that mean if he sorts my chin out I can ask him to put the rest elsewhere?

What did you have done? Did anyone notice the prick marks as I have chosen not to tell anyone - nobody elses business, except MN of course!

Very excited as have a big 40th party to attend on Saturday and recently have been feeling v dowdy, have started drinking more warm water and lemon and less Chardonny and skin looks a lot less drab.

noddyholder · 20/06/2011 18:38

Ginny is lovely! I had botox not filler. Lovely coffee in the waiting room! Good luck

LovelyDaffs · 20/06/2011 19:41

I was talking Botox with mums at school today and they said that I didn't need it as was in good shape for my 43 years. Ha ha ha I didn't tell them that I've had it.

Dh and I were working out household finances and Botox is now on our spreadsheet and he was seriously against it originally (my Dr isnt very expensive either), I'd agree about the headaches and general mood too.

SimplyTes · 20/06/2011 20:07

Thanks Noddy, have yet to tell DH so I may well show him this thread!

Have yet to hear from a MN who has had Juvarderm.....would be great to get your opinion............if you are out there!

LovelyDaffs · 20/06/2011 20:11

Report back please SimplyTes I'm tempted to have it on my chin.

SimplyTes · 20/06/2011 20:23

Will do Daffs, its at 9.45am on Thursday so will have report ready by the evening!

Juvarderm is meant to last at least a year so I hope Dr gets it right!

canteenwoman · 21/06/2011 18:18

I have botox and it is brilliant, as long as you go to a reputable place to have it, the first lot i had done lasted about four weeks, i think it was little more than saline, but i now go to a proper clinic every six months, takes about a week to really notice results on myself, although im thinking of trying new vampire treatment!

MrsDaiBreadTwo · 21/06/2011 19:18

SimpleTes I had Juvederm about nine weeks ago. I had a tendency to look very tired with baggy eyes. It was recommended to me to even out the under eye area.

I immediately looked refreshed, however, I definitely had some bruising. I do tend to bruise and scar very easily so I had been warned not to have the treatment too close to any major events. I definitely look fresher but am not sure if it was the botox or the fillers!

Al0uiseG · 21/06/2011 19:32

What's a Vampire treatment????

Tell me more about Juvederm, please :)

TattyDevine · 21/06/2011 20:43

Sounds like you had the tear trough thing done them, Mrs Dai

How long did your bruising last?

MrsDaiBreadTwo · 21/06/2011 20:52

Yes, I had the tear trough treatment. It was probably about two weeks before all of the bruising had gone. It was really easily covered up with make-up though and it was really only on one eye. Absolutely no one commented on the bruising (not even my mother) - I had decided that if anyone mentioned it I would be totally upfront. The only thing that people commented on was how well I looked.

MrsDaiBreadTwo · 21/06/2011 20:54

Oh yes, I had local anesthetic and I absolutely would not even contemplate having it done if that wasn't an option. The practitioner said that she had once had it without the anesthetic and it was unbelievably painful.

Thornykate · 21/06/2011 23:56

Isla you can be prescribed drops to counteract the droopiness; your practitioner should offer you this free of charge.

PM me if you want details of what to ask for, HTH & Apologies for poking my nose in if you are already aware of this!

LovelyDaffs · 22/06/2011 11:30

I had a bit of bruising when I had my crows feet done, I don't think anyone noticed - or they were too polite to say.

GetOrf · 26/06/2011 01:47

A week on - it looks brilliant - and I am not rose-tinted glasses when it comes to my appearance.

Very smooth forehead but not waxy in appearance - it hads lifted my whole face and I look 8 years younger.

Am vv happy with the result.

Plus I DON'T FROWN and look like Norah Batty anymore.

Lots of people saying I look well in a vague way.
