Hi,

I'm getting married in less than two weeks time :D to my lovely gorgeous fiancé.

It's the 2nd time for both of us and we are having a registry office service and then onto a friends gastro pub for the do.

I really struggled with what to wear and ended up getting a candy Anthony 1950s dress. Now it's made, I really don't like it, well actually I just think its wrong, and I think it's going to make me look like a cute little girl, and I want to look like a stylish woman.
I'm only 5ft tall, but I'm 37. My fiancé will look gorgeous in a suit from Richard James he had made.
I didn't sleep at all last night looking at off the peg options. But I'm so confused. I've gorgeous bright blue louboutin shoes so needs to go with them. And I guess can't be long as no time for any alterations.

Zthank you so much, please help me x x

If your dress just feels wrong, maybe you shouldnt wear it. When you are wearing the right thing, you just know its right and it makes you feel fantastic, as you know from your previous dress. If you wear something you have doubts about (which you clearly do have) then it might spoil your day.

Could you hire a dress for the day maybe?

I think the same, follyfoot...

Does that work now.

Yep I think I feel the same, although I do feel dreadful wasting all that money.

I know that sometimes you can have the most lovely thing, but to you it doesn't feel right. I used to have a mini convertible and everyone told me how gorgeous it was, but I just hated it :(

Arghh... I just don't know what to do.

You look beautiful.

I really think it's the underskirt that has to go. Just replace the blue with a white/nude underskirt.

I love it. You look fab, the blue will be the thing that zuzes it up.
your hair is beautiful too.

stick with it.

You look stunning. Not frou frou at all. And certainly not 37!

You look amazing.

Your hair is beautiful.

Gah. I'm sorry, I'm not sure about the dress either.

You'd get a good price for it though, no?

It is beautiful, and you do not look cute, you look gorgeous. The only thing i might do is add a colored sash, maybe picking up you shoe color. And you need a statement bouquet, like just roses or hydrangea in a stunning color.

I hope you find the right way to feel great when you get married.

I feel bad for saying that. The dress is just not my sort of thing, you still look gorgeous in it.

This site has really beautiful and unusual wedding dresses. They do international shipping and should be able to arrange for it to arrive in plenty of time if there was anything you really liked.

It is a really beautiful dress. Are you sure it's not just last minute jitters?

If you are genuinely rejecting the dress, do you like this from Paddy Campbell?

The dress is lovely and your hair looks great. I think if you change it now you might end up with something not up to the job. Am sure it's nerves. I felt the same about my dress but on the day, it felt great.

I would steer clear of assymetric dresses as they can look a bit edgy/bordering on the scruffy.

Note of caution: I always planned to get married in a beautiful Ben de Lise dress that I'd had for years, but on the Thursday before my wedding I suddenly changed my mind and plumped for a dress I'd seen in the sales. Although I didn't look too bad in the end, I really really regretted not wearing my BdL number. I'd stick with the one you have.

or this

i know i'm being contradictory here. i think you can rock the dress. but i think with your figure you could wear something very slinky.

Perhaps if you wore an organza shrug or lace shrug over the dress, you'd make it feel more grown-up?

I like that Phase 8 dress, but I worry it might make me look short as the fabric cuts across if you know what I mean...

fifitot I've felt like it for a while now. I think it's the top of the dress I dislike the most, and the big blue skirt... :(

Are the shops open today?

spamm what colour flowers do you think I should go with? I've said white roses and white peonies for me, but I think they are a bit fluffy too... I can easily change those though...

I just want something neat and structured, and I think it's all a bit... don't know... umm...

Beautiful shrug here

OK, I was ready to love the dress but I agree with you. I'm not sure it is right. I think you look more 60's than 50's and think something more fitted and shorter would be much more flattering, ideally in lace.

Is the blue skirt inegral to the dress or is it an underskirt?

What about something really simple? With beautiful necklace.

Yes, most shops open today.

Gaston I think that is where my head is as well. Girls help me find something.

I like this but I think it's going to cut my leg at the fatest part of my calve (sp?) also not sure the colour is right for my blue shoes.

Swedes no the under skirt can be removed.

Are the shops open today?
