Golly - I feel sorry for Verity - she missed out on the belstaff boots - perspective ladies :)

you are so right tracey!
Seriously, the boots are v nice so I hope you manage to get hold of the verity
If you have got some kind of ongoing health complaint and are not happy with your GP, I would definitely search for someone you prefer.

bonsoir- blanket prescribing of benzodiazepines for stress/ anxiety/depression stopped decades ago here! I think in the 1970s, a lot of postnatal women who were finding it hard to cope were put on that sort of medication- not a good idea at all!

I thought The Magdalene Sister was a fantastic film- so sad and though provoking.

ollie- I am still at level 2 and finding it challenging, especially all that plank pose work and the strength section of circuit three. I can manage the leg bits fine but my arms suffer a lot!

Bonsoir · 21/02/2011 22:06

LOL looby, I think Freudian psychoanalysis has also gone out of fashion in the UK!

I must go to bed - I went to sleep far too late last night, thinking I would lie in, and was woken by the workmen in the apartment below me drilling into my bed (or so it seemed).

Morning lovely ladies!

I'm feeling much brighter this morning, thank goodness.

Looby and exhausted I'm fairly sure I was suffering from side effects to the dihydro yesterday - won't be taking that again in a hurry!

Everything good luck with bidding on your MOAM dress.

Verity I've got those grey Belstaff boots - they're lovely and I've been wearing with dresses and opaques too. Will keep my eyes peeled for you and do the 'beep-beep' if I see them Smile

Roary thank you - will PM you now.

exhaustednurse - I have tried dress up (Vanessa Bruno navy silk top) and dress down (Breton, Superdry checked shirt) with my Houlihan's. Dress up is definitely the more successful. I cannot wait for warmer weather so I can try them with Tod's ballet shoes.

MarshaBrady · 22/02/2011 10:00

Zembo glad you are feeling a brighter too Smile.

I am experiencing the same level of stress Wink Exhausted over the Liberty stuff. Now I think I will take the Sessun one back as even though it is a deep lovely navy it is a bit uninspiring. The APC soft yellow tshirt is nice but just a tshirt. And the two together were £200 and I think I could get something more exciting. (I only really threw the tshirt in to get the £30 off). But now have to go back in, ach the faff. Much prefer friendly courier guy picking it up!

It is nice to look at links on here, really nice. Plus I don't say to people in rl 'today I am wearing...' much as I would like to Wink.

I really love this Marant print, but would like the same print with a dress.

MarshaBrady · 22/02/2011 10:03

Plus I love the print on the scarf but I am not sure I really am a legitimate scarf person. Not sure it quite fits. Possibly not neat enough or something.

MarshaBrady · 22/02/2011 10:04

(me, not neat enough... not the scarf)... over and out!

notyummy · 22/02/2011 10:21

DD has a playdate this morning with a friend she has not seen in ages (cue much excitment!) and they are downstairs playing with this. She'll be joining us on this thread soon!!

Apparently it is quite retro...a friend of mine bought it for her when she was hospital and said she had always wanted one when she was little but was never allowed. She now has 2 boys so reckoned this could be her only chance to buy one and live vicariously!

OllieWollieWoo · 22/02/2011 10:21

Ants - great that you liked the scarf - I know its shallow but i still get a buzz when someone buys something I've linked too! I love enabling!

Ahhh - caught got out AGAIN by my mad SIL. She is visiting close by with her daughters (they have half term, we dont til next week) and has just rung asking if he can pop in at the end of the afternoon, so said yes and then of course she says she wants to stay for dinner! Said I was already making spag bog for DSs and she said not to make it with bacon in as she prefered it without. Flippin cheek! Well, bacon is going in cos my two wont eat it without it! I should have said my sister was here already - damm it! Its all cos she is too tight to treat her 2 to a meal out - really irritates me!

Rant over!

Sister arrives tomorrow with Boden sunglasses, Phase Eight top, black DP 7/8's, MM's Janice dress and some Cadburys mini eggs - so will grit teeth with SIL and think happy S&B thoughts!

notyummy · 22/02/2011 10:59

Annie - You are a Kiwi I think?? I hope your friends and family are safe.

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2011 11:01

Morning ladies.

These Gap wide leg trousers are lovely and a little bit like the Derek Lam ones Annie linked to (bottom right). I tried them on and they were such a nice fit around the bottom and waist, all I need now are Roman's legs Smile. I have sent them back [sob].

Marsha, you sound in need of guidance on the 'what to buy' front. I will attempt a spot of psychoanalysis and say that this is a reflection of your career dilemma and the lack of clarity there. Get one sorted and the other will follow Smile.

Exhausted, using the same psychoanalysis that I used on Marsha above, you sound to be coping admirably with your work situation. Well done! I can't believe you are going to organise a house move as well. Perhaps the houlihans will see you thorough the challenge.

My lovely yellow (but not very citrusy Fritzi) BR bag arrived and it makes me smile. Sent back 10/26 items from my huge Gap/BR but most of those were DD's tops (and the lovely wide leg trews). She is slight on top but too long in the body for a size down. She looks great in DS's H&M striped t's so I think I may get some of those for her.

Well done Tracey for getting the ball rolling so quickly with the house.

Zembo, good to hear you are feeling better. You are lucky to have Looby and Exhausted looking out for you.

Have good days all.

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2011 11:03

OWW, you make me laugh. Your 'rants' are always so tame. Off to have a look at the Boden sunnies now.

Hello ladies!

Lots more lovely links to look through, things have been a bit manic in RL, and I've not been near mumsnet much.

I'm in a state of panic - an interim role has come up with a company that is the main competitor to my current company (who is making me redundant as we speak), doing almost the exact same role. Pay is vv generous, commute just over an hour, only option would be fulltime, and I would need to start in about a month. I still have to have a final interview, but the match is spooky so I think I'm in with a good chance as long as I don't stuff it up.

But I'm panicking about childcare, leaving my little baby, the prospect of going back to do a big job when I've been in baby mode, and the sheer exhaustion of fulltime working. It will probably only be 3-6 months.

So I am distracting myself from the 'how the hell?' questions and instead looking for an interview outfit. I think a suit, probably navy. Would probably spend up to £300-£400 I guess? Shout if you see anything.

And my other distraction is thinking of possible names for the limited company I would have to set up - could just use my surname, but people always spell it wrong so I'm not sure it's the best option.

Sorry, it's all very 'me me', I will calm down and engage properly!

Oh Annie it is sad. I haven't seen the news, only on the radio. Poor NZ.

Pickled. I am very sure what I want from my careers I just need the space/time to implement!

As for clothes, yes well blinking Liberty doesn't have the same lighting as my home. I am sticking to delivery now.

Very pleased your BR bag is lovely. Am still looking for a non-naff small one.

blossoming · 22/02/2011 11:13

Yes ollie, think happy thoughts. And breathe. It'll be like Christmas in your place tomorrow!

exhausted, morag, the Boden top is going back too! It's just too cold for me to fathom summer wear!
exhausted, I'm sure lots of us are the same. Why buy ten cheap items when you can get one expensive, beautiful, well made item? That's my philosophy anyway. But my Rl friends/family are completely different.

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2011 11:15

Just caught up on the news. How Sad. Glad your friends and family are OK Annie.

blossoming · 22/02/2011 11:18

marsha, we're in the same boat. I'm either going to start fake tanning or give up and wait for spring proper.

Haven't seen news yet so forgive my ignorance. Will look now.

ApuskiDusky · 22/02/2011 11:20

Oh no, I've just looked up the news on the BBC website. Our neighbours are visiting family in that area Sad.

Apuski, this thread seems to work like a charm for jobs. Can we help you with naming your company, please? Maybe I should apply for a ft job I have my eye on (but do not have the traditional experience for due to being SAHM for 9 years Shock). Not sure if I really want it though Confused.

bloss, any more news on your job situation?

pickledsiblings · 22/02/2011 11:25

Apuski how awful Sad
