would it be any good on shortish hair?

oneortwo · 12/12/2010 21:36

is there anywhere where its not sold out or over priced?
want want want

AitchTwoOh · 12/12/2010 22:21

mine is a short bob, auntmaggie. well, layered. oh look i have short hair... Wink

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 12/12/2010 22:42

How long would it take to do long thick hair.

DO is currently saying no- maybe could redeem boots points.

AitchTwoOh · 12/12/2010 22:46

you would dry long thick hair with the hairdryer until just damp, then jhoosh with the big hair. my hair is fine and short but i find best results in not doing it from scratch. from scratch the mousse i use seems to go a bit hard.

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 13/12/2010 06:08

Well Im planning on getting this today regardless of what DP says!

AitchTwoOh · 13/12/2010 09:17

go for it, sistah! Grin

stnikkilarse1978 · 13/12/2010 14:21

Hmmm well the jury is still out for me. Worked brilliantly on DDs hair but I struggled with mine. Just because of the problem I mentioned before where other bits of hair kept getting pulled into the section I was doing. I did find in this instance it was getting a little bit tangled every now and then.

Any ideas on how to prevent this? Or do I literally have to clip up every single bit of hair away from the section I am doing?

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 13/12/2010 15:14

Have just this minute got back from Argos where I got one for £35. I think DD2 might enjoy it, although she did say she didn't want one!

tiokiko · 13/12/2010 18:34

Anyone who doesn't think it's any cop should get it on eBay or Amazon marketplace quick - when I first started reading this thread (at about 5ish) it was £51 on Amazon.

Just decided I was convinced and that I need one and it will give me fab hair, went on to Amazon and it's now £75.60 plus £4.99 delivery! Shock

Pinkflipflop · 13/12/2010 20:11

I heart my Babyliss big hair too BUT:

It makes my hair look a bit greasy Sad

Hopefully this is because I've just got it and am all new-fangled so I keep going over and over to get the lovely bouncy look again.

Anyone else find this?

FellatioNelson · 13/12/2010 20:21

My Babyliss Big Hair is my new best friend, and it goes on my list with my Tempur mattress and Nespresso coffee machine that I never want to be without, ever ever ever.
It is BEYOND fab.

tiokiko · 13/12/2010 20:36

Aargh stop taunting me with your perfect bouncy hair!

Lulumaam · 13/12/2010 20:39

saw them in wilkos today for around £38

do want one, but also want new GHDs

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 13/12/2010 21:05

Mmm. Just reserved mine at Argos on the strength of this thread . If I have to go to work with a lump hacked out of the side of my hair because I have fallen foul of the spinning brush then I'm blaming YOU LOT Wink

mumto2andnomore · 13/12/2010 21:15

Just reserved mine at argos too so hope its as good as you all say !

Easily persuaded me

pink4ever · 13/12/2010 21:18

I was tempted after saw the advert(as can never recreate bouncy salon hair at homeSad but I have very wavy, very very thick, very frizzy hair. Still worried that hair will become tangled in it.Advice?

myleftcrutch · 13/12/2010 21:20

I need a new hairdryer, but can I get this instead, or will I need both?

PuraVida · 14/12/2010 11:59

back in the late 90s i had a device, it was like a round brush, that blew hot air through the bristles. it may have been made by babyliss

just how different is this? because i used to use that one occasionally (to do my Rachel) but it wasn't revolutionary, and looks an awful lot like this one

pinkestpink · 14/12/2010 12:47

after reading this thread i reserved and bought at argos because it looked to be the cheapest £35?? im easily convinced! havent opened it though im having doubts if i really needed it, if it was going to take me just as long as blow drying? shall i open? i have long thin hair? dont want my hair to get trapped in it? Hmm

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 14/12/2010 13:16

Puravida. I still have one like that but dont use it. Think this one does the lift up hair action whihc I am useless at.

Pinkestpink- not used mine either- am worried it wont work and will have wasted money.

Myleftcrutch Hair needs to be 80% dry prior to using it so think you will still need a hairdryer

LadyBiscuit · 14/12/2010 13:17

I have reserved one at Argos. Will report back later ...

AitchTwoOh · 14/12/2010 14:36

i'd say you'd need a hairdryer as well, i'm getting the best results with my fine hair if i dry to about 95% dry tbh. anything less and it does make me look a bit 'done'. in fact i dry, use the big hair, then dry again just to scum it up a bit. that way i have volume AND texture. Wink

hey all you fine hair ladies, what mousse/product to use? NOT the toni and guy rip-off stuff, i bought them on a 3 for 2 in boots and the nozzles all stopped working after about three uses. grrrr.

flowerytaleofNewYork · 14/12/2010 14:39

I've asked DH for one for Christmas! I am disproportionately excited. Grin

paarrp · 14/12/2010 16:43

oooh - I just bought the last one in our asda and have just had a go on my dry hair - its fab - love it :o

I have a nearly shoulder length layered bob and have fine hair - but lots of it - really easy to use - I imagine it will be great for boosting my hair the day after I've washed it so it won't be so flat in the morning - hopefully saving me valuable minutes in the morning :o
