I am so Envy now. I have thick, frizzy horrible hair and listening to all these stories is just well, upsetting.

Thanks Rubena, I am far too miserable to pay £60 on ebay for one now, only to find it is back in asda in two weeks time for £35.

panettoinydog · 31/12/2010 11:41

john lewis in edinburgh had them yesterday.

I got one for christmas. I like it.

TotorosOcarnina · 31/12/2010 11:44

grrrr, why have all the £35 links gone up to £45??

just found this thread and WANT ONE!!!

Rubena · 31/12/2010 11:51

Colie - if you go to Very website you can get one from them for 44 for delivery within 2 weeks

JakeBrake · 31/12/2010 13:17

Is it only fir thick hair? Hair average here

colie · 31/12/2010 14:48

Thanks Rubena. Think I will order once kids are in bed. A wee happy new year present to me.

JakeBrake - I think everyone with all hair types has raved about it. Think I remember from the reviews that everyone raved about it.

CointreauVersial · 31/12/2010 22:16

No, it's not just for thick hair - mine is quite fine and I am getting swishy AND full of body!

I used it for the third time today, and practice definitely makes perfect - I am wielding it like a pro now.

By the way, all you eBay watchers - be aware, I saw some listed which were a non-rotating type (maybe an older model). You want this, and NOT this.

Wouldn't want you to pay lots of money if it's not the real deal!

VeryStressedMum · 01/01/2011 09:55

The protective cover is a bit hard to get off, I'm pulling it down to get it off and I assume to get it back on you pull it down from the top of the brush. I did try to pull it up to get it on but I almost pulled it apart.
And what way are the grooves supposed to fit?

kerstina · 01/01/2011 14:56

Just want to thank you all for your recommendations i now have one at it works for me as i could never be bothered to blow dry my hair with a brush. I am not one for hair gadgets and would never have even thought about buying one of these if i had not read this thread.!Smile

NanBullen · 01/01/2011 15:37

well i got one for xmas and am very disappointed Sad I can do better with a hairdryer and barrel brush. I have very fine hair in a chin length bob and I think the bristles are too soft. They just make my hair too flyaway with no body.

ah well, at least i didn't buy it.....

minibmw2010 · 09/01/2011 11:56

Ladies I got one yesterday from Boots after reading through this thread (tried to find one before Christmas but couldn't) and I'm so pleased with it. I have really long thick hair and just couldn't get a good finish with a brush and normal hairdryer. I doubt I could use it every time as it takes a long time, but for special occasions its great. I think I'll take it with me on holiday soon instead of normal hairdryer. Was £45 in Boots.

pagwatch · 09/01/2011 11:57

oh thank god

pointy likes hers.

I can unclench

I bought one on the strength of this thread...I am not normally a hair gadget person and I don't usually dry my hair much, just leave it to dry which takes hours. ANyway, I bought this the week before Christmas and took in on holiday and used it every day...and it was lovely. My hair is longish, cut in layers, quite fine though I have a lot of it. It makes a huge difference and it gave me more confidence.

I don't use it on the days I leave the house at 6:45 to get to work because I don't have time but on the weekends I am enjoying swishing my hair and feeling generally a bit more 'groomed' than normal.

thanks for the recommendation!

FreeButtonBee · 09/01/2011 15:55

Also love love love the big hair. I have super fine hair and lots of it. Now i just blsst with dryer and swoosh through with the big hair. Much more volume than normal and really smooth. I also seem to get an extra day out of it; normally i have to wash religiously every two days but am stretching to three now and day two is still great, rsther than a greasy mess. Result!

mrsshackleton · 10/01/2011 10:55

I got one at the weekend and - being totally uncoordinated - am unable to master the technique, it's making my hair all flyaway

Any tips on how to do it. Please {grin]

Finally got mine at the weekend and tried it yesterday for the first time - love it, love it, love it. I finally have GOOD hair!

Absolutely delighted and never would have heard about it if not for this thread.

colie · 10/01/2011 21:28

Think I need tips too. Got mine on saturday and used it that day too. My hair has got quite long and think this maybe ruined the effect. It really needs cut so will have to make time for hairdressers and then try again.

Can anyone recommend products to use on hair prior to using it. thanks.

ullainga · 11/01/2011 11:16

haven't tried the big hair but I bought one of those some time ago, maybe worth to check out? www.amazon.fr/Babyliss-2735E-Cheveux-beliss-c%C3%A9ramique/dp/B001NYP7JG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294744197&sr=8-1

  • it has the Big hair rotating brush, but also straightener, small curling brush and diffuser. it's ceramic and ionic and 1000 w instead of 700.
Freyfreysmum · 11/01/2011 13:18

I have fine blonde hair, wondered if anyone with thin hair has used?

CointreauVersial · 11/01/2011 13:29

Freyfreysmum - I have fine hair - works for me! I use the same products on it as I normally would - mousse or Paul Mitchell Super Sculpt.

Mrsshackleton/colie - all I can say is keep practising! I found it easier to do the tricky bits on the lower heat setting, so the barrel rotates slower.

Emo76 · 11/01/2011 16:25

Has anyone had any luck buying one of these online recently? Apart from ebay that is!

Emo76 · 12/01/2011 13:49

For anyone in SW London wanting one of these, I have just purchased one from Asda Clapham Junction for £22. They seemed to have a few, in the upstairs electronics section. I got one to stick on ebay too as I think they've got the price wrong!

5DollarShake · 12/01/2011 14:17

Just saw them onAmazon for £34 + VAT and so bought a second one. Blush I have seriously never been so impressed by a hair product.
