Ooh hopefully I can use it on DDs hair too which is the madness thick bushy mop I have ever seen!

Oh god, I need one of these. Damn the unreliable stock levels Xmas Angry

Hulla · 10/12/2010 20:16

vivian it's the only styling product I've gone back to. I seems to stop my hair reacting with dampness and makes it behave the way I imagine normal hair would when blow-dried, instead of collapsing after 20 mins.

Okay, I'm tempted by this; but in the Youtube clip she didn't seem to get close to the roots - I like to lift mine as much as poss, otherwise I have Lego hair which I hate.

And then I usually curl the ends under with a small brush.

So, can I achieve the desired effect? Also, can you use it from damp?

(Btw, they were demonstrating it in my branch of Boots last weekend, but I didn't have time to stop).

Esmee · 10/12/2010 20:48

I've reserved one at Argos for tomorrow, can't wait to try it!

mistletoeploppy · 10/12/2010 20:57

I got mine this afternoon too! From Amazon - I love it

I've got fine curly hair and it makes it wavy and bouncy and lurvely.

The rotating bit goes both ways so it's easy to use to curl the ends under on either side

OK IMPORTANT QUESTION

Is it easy to use for those of us who have been conned into buying hairstyling things in the past (thinking the Babyliss curling wand) by threads on here and then when got them found that it was in fact impossible to use?

So easy to use for a hair styling kltuz?

panettoinydog · 10/12/2010 21:03

I too am getting worreid that they will be all sold out if yo keep on chatting about them.

Shh!

ChippedChinaTeacup · 10/12/2010 21:21

found them here

Hulla · 10/12/2010 21:40

Curling wand was crap, this is v good. I used it on soaking damp hair.

Vivian not sticky or stiff, normal movement just less soft/floppy. More manageable (only use a small blob on wet hair though or it does go like cardboard).

dingdongDandyLioness · 10/12/2010 21:45

I've wanted one of these for a while and asked for these for Christmas.

Question: is it quite light and compact? We're going away over Christmas for nearly a month, and DH has already put it out there that he's expecting me to bring a capsule toiletries collection, rather than the amount of guff I normally pack.

It is easy to use - I am a total clumsy arse and I managed ok. I have bought every hot brush thingy going and I like this one the BEST.

dingdong - it's bulky but not heavy. A bit bigger than a normal hot brush

panettoinydog · 10/12/2010 21:54

If it's rubbish I will be very very cross with pags

CaptainKirksNipples · 10/12/2010 21:54

Its only 700 watts is that not a bit shit? My hairdryer is 2000...

CaptainKirksNipples · 10/12/2010 21:57

Am interested in it but I too have a habit of buying new things just for fun. I did like the babyliss curling wand though.

If I am able to get volume with products and blow drying is this any different? As someone else said I prefer volume to come from the roots and not just weird flicky curls that girl from the video had!

mistletoeploppy · 10/12/2010 22:05

If you are good at blowdrying with a round brush then you probably don't need it - I can't do it Blush

It IS fun though Grin

CaptainKirksNipples · 10/12/2010 22:41

I loooove new gadgets and stuff, have about 10 mascaras that promise extra volume/length/whatever but they generally don't cost £50! Will ponder some more...

WhatsWrongWithYou · 10/12/2010 22:48

Was me with the roots, Captain Smile. I'm in a quandary - just spent ££ on a Parlux hairdryer (recommended on MN, natch), but this looks perfect to take ski ing next week.

Do I buy one for DD as a present but give it early and force her to take it on holiday for me to use? < ponders >

CaptainKirksNipples · 10/12/2010 22:55

I saw that root booster that looks like a crimper and was thinking that I'd like that too, Santa is going to freak out when he gets my final draft list!

Whatsetc Yes, that's the point of having daughters. You buy stuff "for them" that you really want yorself. I present Exhibit 1 of the Hair curler things raved about last xmas

WhatsWrongWithYou · 10/12/2010 23:40

I know - I'm just getting into that exciting realm as DD is 13 - so much deviousness to look forward to!
