Ok just back from a night out partying and dancing. Hair behaved itself. Still full of volume and shine.someone was asking about weight. It's surprisingly light. Well worth it and I will probably use it more than my ghds....

Don't know whether to get this or root boost now. Dilemmas!

EarthMotherImNot · 11/12/2010 08:28

Would they work on shortish, top of a shirt collar length???

mistletoeploppy · 11/12/2010 09:36

Yes, probably better on that sort of length than shoulder length like mine. The barrel is big though - about mini-coke-can size or bigger

pagwatch · 11/12/2010 09:42

pointy

why cross with me especially?

I and Mr Babyliss always try and tell the truth.
ad i just like to see well groomed pointys on the board... a woofer should always look her best with a glossy shiny coat

Ok, have no less than 5 styling apparatuses (apparati?). Is this thing really The One? What does it do that is so great?

stnikkilarse1978 · 11/12/2010 14:51

Well I picked mine up this morning and have so fa done my DDs hair. I was very impressed! It is very light and although big it is easy to hold. Her hair which honestly is the thickest, frizziest, waviest hair I have ever seen (hairdressers are always shocked) has come out nice and glossy and smooth but retained it's thickness. It was very easy to use and it is true that it doesn't tangle up the hair or get caught up. It really is worth the money. You could use it from wet or just towel dried but it says if your hair is long or very thick to 80% dry it first - just because it would take a long time I think. For hair above the shoulder I can see how easy it would be to do it from damp so can take the place of your hairdryer.

The only things I had problems with (but being my first try I presume I can improve on) were that due to the size of the brush and the length of the bristles it is hard to do a section without some hair from around it getting pulled in but since it doesn't get caught it just dries that bit too it wasn't a problem really. And if you life the hair up and do it this problem goes (also it may just have been the thickness of DDs hair). The other thing was that it was leaving a little flick outwards at the bottom but I think I just need to practise.

Anyway I am about to do my hair which is long and curly and I want it straight so I will report back.

Thus far though my review is very, very positive. Buy one now!! Grin

because I trust you, pags. It would be a turrible thing if you were fibbing.

PressureDrop · 11/12/2010 17:25

This is BRILLIANT.

I have thick, straight hair in a graduated bob. Used mine for the first time yesterday and it was the closest I have ever come to having 'salon' hair at home. So chuffed!

panettoinydog · 11/12/2010 17:31

I am v excited. I think dh bought one for my christmas today.

I am already feeling the bounce.

TurkeyMartini · 11/12/2010 19:09

Got one today at Asda -- said £45 on the shelf but was actually £35. Not tried it yet :)

Ok, I have should length fine, flat poker straight hair. Is this thing the answer to my prayers?

coffeeinbed · 11/12/2010 20:25

I love mine - and I don't realy have thick curly hair.
Obscenely glossy.
A bit too glossy, I like it a bit lived-in, but I think I'll manage.

wekingbeat23oforientare · 11/12/2010 21:10

ok, so i have thick very curly ringlets....what would it do for me?

TurkeyMartini · 11/12/2010 21:22

Shiney, I have fine hair, longish.

I will let you know, assuming the kidlings allow me time to tend to my hair tomorrow instead of just scooping it back into a ponytail while wet.

fine hair, tick. this is wot i have.

very thick ringlets. tick. dd1 has very thick ringlets and it was HILARIOUS on her hair, made it all glossy and lush like one of those baby beauty queens. personally i like her hair better its usual mad way but she LOVED it and wants it for 'party hair' from now on. it was interesting to see how long it really is, i must say, when it's not all tight spirals.

Pollyanna · 11/12/2010 22:26

Fourthwiseman I have straight fine hair too and my sister is getting me this for Christmas - hope it works or it can join the pile of other useless implements that have all failed to give me Kelly Brook hair!

lovelyopaque · 11/12/2010 22:33

Right. I've just watched the video on Amazon so I'm a bit clearer on how it works. My hair is similar to the girl in the vid, so should be ok. Going to get one. What product do you all think will be best to help the volume last?

ameliameerkat · 12/12/2010 16:43

I want one now too! Damn you Mumsnet! I didn't even know I needed a new hair gadget until now!! Grin. I'd also be interested to hear product ideas to use with it.....

pagwatch · 12/12/2010 17:05

I am all anxious waiting for pointy to love it/hate it........

pagwatch · 12/12/2010 17:07

I did dss hair for a party with this yesterday.

Only 8 and she was doing the hair swishy thing with some aplomb.........

TurkeyMartini · 12/12/2010 17:32

Ooh, I tried it today and it is def good for fine longish hair.

Will be interested to see how much I can improve/speed up with practice -- but am really happy with purchase so far.

I didn't bother with partially drying hair first, not with a dryer anyway. I just went with vey well towel-dried/combed out hair. Was fine.

Iwasthefourthwiseman · 12/12/2010 21:07

So how long does it take to use it?
