Am off to bed but just wanted to say hi to Cake if she is around but (understandably) not feeling in the mood to converse.
Am hoping today was as bearable as something like that can be.
Night all x

I love the tins of salmon metaphor. I'm sure that lurkers are Confused!
Carciofi the circle decreases even smaller. She hangs around with someone who is a mum in school, who I used to do choir (not church, but you know the choirs of today!) with.
NY I always think that about the apprentice. And I wonder aloud (to anyone who will listen. Usually DH who is tired of this particular conversation) why are they soooh stupid? I am not business minded, but even I can see whatever they are doing won't work. It's perfect armchair stuff. Or we have an Irish phrase for it being the "hurler on the ditch".(our national game, played with sticks, and leather balls)

rufus101 · 06/10/2010 23:56

tin of salmon to you EIS. Always fear being over plucked, although that would be hard with me. Am now regretting the eyelash extensions, they look amazing, but so unreal. I feel everyone is looking at me thinking "FAKE LASHES", and I'm afraid to touch my eyes, and put make up on, in case I disturb them!

traceybath · 07/10/2010 07:34

Just a quickie but Esher I am going to be sining fame all day now Grin

carciofi · 07/10/2010 08:24

Rufus, I am trying to think who that is!

Trying to find an alternative nursery school, we are way down the waiting lists everywhere. I think we should move and quick.

EIE, how annoying. They should have done a ppatch test before tinting your eyelashes.

Have sold loads on ebay, woohoo!

notyummy · 07/10/2010 08:51

LTEC - Hope you are feeling okay today.

EIE - Sorry to hear about the eyelash nightmare.Lengthening mascara it is then...

I am currently covering a few trends at work today. Black trench, black maxi skirt, leopard print blouse and black wedge boots. Just need some camel now...Grin DD told me last night as I was sorting out my clothes for today that I shouldn't wear the leopard print with the black skirt. 'Noo mummy I like the leopard so much - don't wear it with the black!' (She hates black; more of a purple girl Wink) I asked her what I should wear with it instead, and she said 'Something colourful.' I did tell her that this might be a bit much, and she suggested brown. I said 'Ooh, maybe camel then?' She was THRILLED. 'A camel AND a leopard mummy. That would be fantastic.' The 4 year old sartorialist speaks...

ManiPedi · 07/10/2010 08:54

Hi all - in case you missed my last post I am new Smile!

Anyway, I've been deliberating over these boots.

What do you think? Or is there anything out there that is nicer in a similar style?

PlumSykes · 07/10/2010 09:13

ManiPedi, hello!

I like those boots a lot. Good colour, look like nice leather. Only wonder if the toe might be a bit of a weird shape, but you'd have to try on to find out, really.

traceybath · 07/10/2010 09:16

Nice boots manipedi and welcome Smile

ManiPedi · 07/10/2010 09:19

Hello Plum and tracey!

Yes the toe does look a bit weird in the photo, but I tried them on the other day and they did look quite good. Hmm, might try them on again and have a proper look at the toe.

notyummy · 07/10/2010 09:26

Mani - I like them!Looks like nice soft leather.

traceybath · 07/10/2010 10:12

for you Notyummy.

notyummy · 07/10/2010 10:25

ooooh Tracey that is lovely thank you.

I might give it a shot you know. There is only small left, but that is a 10 and I can sometimes do a 10. Does anyone know if outnet does free returns?

I suppose I could always look myself Hmm. Will peruse site.

vinvinoveritas · 07/10/2010 10:25

roary my paige jeggings are definitely lookng for a home. Pale grey.. haven't worn them as I was in between sizes when I got them and they looked a bit wrong on, if you'd like them send me a message and I'll post?

manipedi hello!! I really like those boots, they look like the kind of boot that will last for years so also very wise Grin

everything I have seen many photos of severe reactions to lash tinting and many unsuccessful lawsuits, well done for getting it off! It's scary stuff

Tins of salmon everyone

vinvinoveritas · 07/10/2010 10:28

I think outnet do free returns but don't refund delivery charge

roary they're a 27 btw

notyummy · 07/10/2010 10:34

Well, I have been saved from myself Grin Have just ordered that maxi dress on the Outnet....but when I went to check out it said it was now sold out. Frustrating, but perhaps the big bank manager in the sky is trying to tell me something!

Thanks for the thought though Tracey.

blossoming · 07/10/2010 10:47

Morning all,

notyummy and fellow meet-up WAGs, The Wolsely is fully booked. I like the 5th floor cafe in Harvey Nichols, but they don't take bookings. Any ideas? Any other London ladies have any ideas, but must be central due to train station issues. Thanks!!

Welcome manipedi. Love those boots. Perfect for autumn walks I would imagine.

On a similar note, I am thrilled you all like my new boots. You know how it is, it's always nice to have reassurance other than your dh's (who I fear would say anything just to get me out of the shop!!).
I tried them today with my jeggings, and somehow they worked. Good thing too. You know how I love my jeggings (about the same as notyummy likes her maxi dresses!). So I can probably bin the flys.

Great news for ebay sales carciofi. I've been thinking, I might sell those Boden chunky boots from last year, worn twice. And the long cardi/coat in slate which was great last Winter in fact, but too big and unflattering on me now, and the trench. Keep the ebay ball rolling so to speak.

How's the lo today vino?

aStarInStrangeways · 07/10/2010 10:55

Hello :) I have been lurking rather shyly for while but that Outnet maxi dress has drawn me out of the shadows - what a shame lucky escape for me that it's sold out.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/10/2010 11:28

Hello Maniped and StarinStrangeways! Am intrigued by your names! Maniped - I have a pair of boots just like those KG ones - this will be there 3rd winter in use and I love them - colour seems to go with most things including black.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/10/2010 11:29

Quick - someone more witty than be think of a new thread title!

notyummy · 07/10/2010 11:30

Welcome astar - always good to see a fellow maxi fan!

Shame about the Wolseley. Have had a think and a quick google. Couple of suggestions below, but I am not precious, so tell me if I am miles off target!

Sofitel St James Choice of Brassierie Roux for 'proper' lunch. Rose Lounge for Afternoon tea, or the bar that also does light lunches. I have stayed here a couple of times and it is nice.

Wine Bar at Fortnum and Mason Does food and has either 1 45 or 2 45 availability]]

also The Parlour at Fortnum and Mason. Has a table at 2pm

Gallery Only table at 1245.

I am sure there are loads others - just going on the little I know about the general area!

notyummy · 07/10/2010 11:42

New thread here.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/10/2010 14:31

Hells - love the red coat - I saw it on the blog which featured the Primark brogues - scroll down here to see her in it - looks fab - in fact I like most of her outfits - esp the vintage dress she is wearing in the lastest post. I have a 3 year old vintage (!) red coat from Next which has a funnel neck which I love but never seem to wear apart from around Christmas time! Will have to dig it out to cheer up the school run!
