Cake - so sorry that you have such a sad day ahead tomorrow.

Sorry, I meant to link to these definites and these possibles.
Am liking the sound of these Citizens jeggings - linky pleasey.

Marsha - am strictly only considering gold brogues at Primarni or similar prices Grin. Dries van No-way.

Cake - I think you are right - I wore the Belstaffs over Primark skinnies and it all felt a bit lumpy and leaden but am going to try them with the James jegging style jeans above or these joddies instead which I think will work better.

Had these ankle boots delivered today (in brown) and am v pleased. Look nice with skinnies and also with tightly rolled up straight legs Smile

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 21:16

Ahem. Pikey do Wot you Likey Cakey expressly forbids the too gorgeous Marsha from setting a Chloe-clad foot in Primark. Her presence will raise prices at ruin it for the rest of us more skinted than minted types.

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 21:16

and ruin it

GeorginaWorsley · 05/10/2010 21:20

Like those boots esher

Quick question,I've just bought a padded 'puffa' type jacket but it is a bit too 'puffed' ifyswim!!
Is there any way to deflate it (I know the oppsite trick of tumble drier and tennis ball)
Or shpuld I admit defeat and return?Grin

MarshaBrady · 05/10/2010 21:30

Lol not sure how to de-puff a puffer.

Ha ltec I think it might be laziness and chaos-phobia, rather than mintedness.

Best wishes for tomorrow, so, so sad.

GeorginaWorsley · 05/10/2010 21:33

Me neither,martha.
Not a common problem then/Smile

GeorginaWorsley · 05/10/2010 21:38

mrsjuan · 05/10/2010 21:53

Evening everyone, am back in a much better frame of mind than the other night - sorry for the sulky little message!

In a nutshell, DH didn't get interview for job nearer my family which led to a rehashing of our perrenial arguement discussion about where to live. I can't really see any way of getting my own way resolving it at the moment since the practicalities of staying here far outweigh the reasons for moving for now.

On top of that FIL is awating the results of some scary sounding tests as he has been rather unwell for a few months now so DH is obviously worried about that so I feel like a complete cow for bleating on about wanting to move closer to home.

But hey ho, onto fashion:

Esher I love those boots - saw someone really rocking the boots and rolled up jeans look the other day - I walked behind her all the way into town like this: Envy

MM glad you're back having had a good time -love your links, esp the belstaff boots.

hells that cashmere dress is fab, as are your other bits - I am a big fan of the no risk approach but have got better since being on this thread

bloss HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you've had a lovely day.

vin glad DS is feeling better. Am sure the cake was just as much help as the calpol Grin

cake hope the funeral goes as well as something as sad as that can Sad. Will be thinking of you.

georgina - a quick google about depuffing revealed don't think it's what you're after but it's quite cute Confused

I fear there is no option but to return.Smile
Am obv too small at 5ft 3 for a proper puffa.

eshermummy · 05/10/2010 22:05

ltec, will be thinking of you tomorrow. One of the local mums' baby just died, literally in her arms, beforeca feed, at 6 weeks. Nothing wrong beforehand. So very sad .

traceybath · 05/10/2010 22:19

Georgina is it down filled or polyester?

MarshaBrady · 05/10/2010 22:22

Oh Bloss Sad

notyummy · 05/10/2010 22:24

LTEC - so sorry you have such a sad day tomorrow.

Blossoming - what a terrible thing to happen. Sad

GeorginaWorsley · 05/10/2010 22:40

tracey down filled.(indeed,down over filled,imo)Smile

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 22:56

blossoming that is heartbreaking.

Thanks for your kind wishes ladies,

I jeep thinking about the fact that my friend were not able to hold their baby for 3 whole weeks, not until they were told that there was no hope. Then they held him, and felt the life ebb from his body. When i think about that, I fall to pieces.

Stupidly, I have also a horror and a dread of being separated from my children tomorrow. It has to be done, obviously, but I don't like being away from them at the best of times (so I get it Zembo - I have never spent a full day or a night away from any of them) and especially not when their preciousness is highlighted so sharply.

And dh is away, so I am maybe a bit more wobbly than usual.

anyway, it's not about me. But thank you for your thoughhs and support.

hf128219 · 06/10/2010 05:19

LTEC Will think of you today.

Bloss That is so very, very sad Sad

Have good days ladies. Haven't had time to read much else. Now off to walk to the station in the rain to get my train - the joys!

MarshaBrady · 06/10/2010 06:59

Oh that is heartbreaking ltec. I am awake but ds2 is asleep on me. I understand the desire to cuddle your children and hold them tight. There will be many tears. Very hard without your dh too. (I know you're not allowed to do this on mn but a couple of tears did fall on reading your post). So sad.

FritziGreenEyes · 06/10/2010 07:13

LTEC Thinking of you today...

Oh Bloss that is so sad and tragic...

Hello monkeysmama! Enjoyed reading about your holiday purchases. Sounds like you had a lovely time.

Tracey enjoy the peace of your empty house!

Although it is still warm and sunny here I have decided to order these Belstaffs which I have been admiring since August I think. I know that the trend for jeans tucked into long boos might already be over but due to body issues I haven't done it the previous seasons so will indulge this winter (sorry long sentence). Will go shopping on Friday for low heeled/flat shoe boots as I might have to put away all my beloved pairs of ballerina flats soon (sob).

MarshaBrady · 06/10/2010 07:28

It is a thing this boot over skinny jeans isn't it. I can't do ankle boots with heel as feels too much for sr. Ballet flats not great in puddles but mostly I have so many boots I want to wear them. Are glossy riding boots the answer?
