Sorry Bloss - your poor friend! How sad....

Love the Comptoir skirt Tracey...

blossoming · 06/10/2010 11:41

I think they're promising a nice day on Saturday. I think I will wear a blouse of some description, blazer, jbrands, ballet flats/riding boots and a big pashmina in case I get chilly.
Thanks everyone. You've inspired me!! (Important not to wear anything school run suitable!!)

Afternoon all,
Please excuse my self-imposed exile. I banned myself from S&B until I'd done the latest update on blog. Since am queen of displacement activity, it took me a week, but blog is now done, so am here.

Sat and read a week of posts last night, but by the time I'd finished it was too tired to post.

Am home alone this week-DH in Barcelona, am emerald with envy-so catching up on reading/chores/mail-ordering etc. Enjoing eating weird Dukan-friendly food, without having the bother of making anything for him. Hoping he will bring me back a straw donkey or similar.

Having been wearing my cheapo TK Maxx brogues quite a lot, think may upgrade to a better pair. Quite fancy these. I know they are still not v. exxy, but fairly sure this is a one season wonder for me, so no point in splashing too much. Am slightly troubled about my M&S love. Bought these boots in the mink shade last week. Not sure whether to keep them, but they do look everso good with skinnies.

Today am wearing the cheapster brogues with teal socks, cropped slim black GAP trousers, a very fine LS navy tee and a black crepe Ghost s-sleeve shirt with an open back. Wish I had WC popcorn poncho to wear for school collection later, will have to make do with navy wool trench.

Have been eyeing the IO peg-legs. They are in stock in my size in grey, think may order and see-would work well with the brogues, I think.

Can hear baby waking, must be quick, so:

Hells excellent Outnet haul, looking forward to your report back. Have you seen M&S (again!) have new range of bras for small back/big knockers types? Haven't tried on, but look very nice, and great prices.
Fritzi, hope you have decided to go with caterers. Life's too short to stuff a mushroom
Roary Glad you are loving your brogues too!

Hello! Been having yet more issues w time at a computer (Delie is sleeping, on avg 40 mins per day for her nap - this is NOT enough!!). Hopefully solved as have PT nanny for 3 weeks, then FT nanny from then on - YAY!! DH has a huge list for me to get through, so hoping babies stay put. Am huge (even bigger than before) so will take photo later and post.

As you can imagine, v little S&B news here... Although has anyone else tried that dry shampoo Batiste I think its called? Only 99p from Super Drug and is terrific!! It makes my hair thicker, softer and bouncier - prob makes it cleaner, too, but am too pleased with how it makes it look to notice.

Have missed most of this thread, but it sounds as though there has been more heartbreak for some of us w friends losing loved ones. The word "devastating" seems right.

I am still coming to the meet up! Haven't told DH, but he will be fine - will just make him more meaty/stodgy food Grin

notyummy · 06/10/2010 12:46

Bunny - I am also a Baptiste user! Good news about the meet-up. Think that makes at least 5/6 of us.

reallygrumpy · 06/10/2010 12:50

plum I can't get the link to your blog to work Sad not sure if it's a prob with my phone or the link. I like the sound of your outfit, I'm after some brogues and cropped or peg trousers. roary the boden crops arrived.... And are going back! The fabric's nice but the fit's awful, the pockets gape really oddly.

I've decided that I need a red coat to brighten up my dull winter wardrobe and am considering this

PlumSykes · 06/10/2010 12:53

ReallyG, Try again here

Your outfit sounds great plum. Have called caterer this morning and literally felt weight lift off my shoulders. Phew...

Hello bunnymother. Glad you found a nanny! Hope you can get some rest before the new DDs arrive.

bunnymother · 06/10/2010 13:12

RG - beautiful coat!! Although its made of "100% PLSE UPD" - what the devil is that??

notyummy · 06/10/2010 13:20

25% off at Whistles until 15th Oct with WH25AW10.

blossoming · 06/10/2010 13:28

Hi bunny, glad you're okay. We've missed you! Good news re meet up.

plum, love the blog, could really relate to the latest instalment. Also did you see report on red lipstick being 'back' in Times fashion today? (I personally liked the red jeggings look too, but dh said he couldn't look at them, their legs were too skinny! Gotta love him!)

Nutmums · 06/10/2010 13:53

100% 'Please Upload', Bunny

DolceeBanana · 06/10/2010 14:01

Love the blog Plum...at my last 'spa visit' the receptionist was trying to cajole me in to having treatments when all i wanted to do was grab the nearest sun lounger, a stack of mags and a cool Pimms! Now that is worthwhile! I ended up with a 'deluxe ped'...and it took an age...I just wanted to giggle throughout (childish, moi?), and so spent the time hidden behind my magazine willing her to bog off...! She rubbed all my fake tan off too!!!!

DolceeBanana · 06/10/2010 14:02

Hello Bunny!

notyummy · 06/10/2010 14:07

When I was pregnant with DD I went for a 'pregnancy massage' at a very well known spa resort in Scotland....

Massage was done by very young, fairly nervous looking girl, who told me 'Ooh, I haven't done one of these before.' After I got undressed she then said 'Oh, look at the SIZE of you!!' (This was at 34 weeks....the week before I had been to the hospital for a scan because I was so 'small for dates'...) To top off this customer service extravaganza, she was rubbing special anti-stretch mark stuff into my tummy when she obviously woke up DD who started having a rummage round inside me. Beautician screamed, and backed away gasping 'Oh my god! Thats like Alien.'

I have a right giggle about it now....but not at the time, when I was paying 60 notes for the privilege.... Hmm

blossoming · 06/10/2010 14:27

Oh how awful notyummy. I booked myself a pedicure over the phone when 36 wks pregnant with dc1. (we'd just moved to a new town). When I turned up it was up a long flight of stairs and at the back of a building, just me and her. (Already I wanted to leave). After starting she then left me for a good while, came back and said, 'sorry, diarrheoa', then carried on!!

DolceeBanana · 06/10/2010 14:27

mmm...very relaxing then MM!!! Poor you!

OllieWollieWoo · 06/10/2010 14:27

LOL Blossoming!

OllieWollieWoo · 06/10/2010 14:31

Fritzi - I picked up a nice skirt in Primark last week - woollen, slightly a line with pleated waistband, above the knee length, charcoal grey with a wide black and a magenta pink stripe at the top and bottom. Also had it in lighter grey with a navy stripe. Will look nice with boots and a polo neck or cardi buttoned up I think. I also like my short denim skirt in the winter too.

PlumSykes · 06/10/2010 14:55

esher, just back from a quick dash to Primarni, got you the goldies in a 4. Not sure if you will feel about to stretch to the whole £3 though. Grin

They also have them in silver, which I love, but not in a 5. Anyone who sees them, please pick up a pair!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 06/10/2010 15:13

No way! Are they nice Plum? Esher when you get them tell me if you love them.

blossoming · 06/10/2010 16:55

My sister just gave me 'belle d'opium' perfume by ysl. She'd smelt it in Grazia. I am such a one perfume kind of girl, my first thought was to sell it on (I am a bad sister). But she made me take off the cellophane and the security plastic and spray it on! And, well it's not that bad. Doubt if I'd wear it though. Dh said I smelt like her! Probably a bad thing.

vinvinoveritas · 06/10/2010 17:05

ltec your outfit sounded perfect, hope today goes okay
bloss so sorry to hear that news

On a brighter note DS had bad night again (41!) but gave calpol and he is bright as a button today. I was at the 'shall I pack some of his things for a hospital stay' and 'oh god not again' stage but thankfully he is great today

Also on a brighter note I love the primarni shoe fairy Grin

notyummy I think I am sending you the citizens jeggings that LTEC speaketh of, they are rather neopreney, haven't actually worn them as got wrong size and did my usua thing of keeping them anyway

I really must get my avid and wise mojo back as I have absolutely no exciting developments in my A/W10 wardrobe. Sorry- on form soon!

PlumSykes · 06/10/2010 17:43

Marsha, they are not exactly handstitched Italian leather, but they are nice and soft, and seemed comfy. They are VERY gold. Had them in a 4, 5, 6 and 7, I think, though not many pairs left as are in sale. Am happy to call back in if anyone else wants a little £3 glitz.
