2pm fine with me. I have to leave at 6pm at the latest to get my train back.

glad temp is coming down and spirits are rising vin

Welcome back mm Lovely links!

vinvinoveritas · 05/10/2010 19:09

carciofi that's awful! Glad she was OK, very scary to witness febrile convulsions. I'm still harrassing a nursery near me but DS has been on waiting list since birth and still no place, so I tentatively say 'what about January intake?' and they say 'hmm, lots of people on the list before you' haven't paid a deposit though so not quite so bad

vinvinoveritas · 05/10/2010 19:11

Oh I've just realised yangymac you are a fellow workwear enthusiast Grin yay! I remember your thread, if only I could wear work clothes 7 days a week I would be (tragically) very happy

vinvinoveritas · 05/10/2010 19:14

I think I will be awol from your meet up as nobody will be very helpful in terms of childcare for DS, but by next time if you maybe make it a week day I will be 'at work' (skiving to make the meet up) so no such problem, or will have sorted weekend DS care. Well curiosity will get the better of me and I will have sorted AW footwear so will be there! Sounds like you'll have a lovely time. I know it may horrify the dukanistas but the walpole used to do great fish and chips.. sigh..

blossoming · 05/10/2010 19:15

Ooh, nice carciofi.
Re meet up, I leave 17.10 from Euston.

hellsbelles · 05/10/2010 19:24

welcome back MM - you were missed. And thanks for the gorgeous links! I have found a wonderful bra (that is low cut) that I need to link to for you (I think we face similar small back/large cup challenges)...rather sadly I thought 'I must tell MM' when I found it. it's in the wash now but will check label and let you know...it's fab.

VIno - great that DS is more himself.

Cake - sorry for confusion - it's the Edelmans.

Tracey - that is gorgeous...I can't believe I missed it. I have a new policy with The Outnet. Only classics. Everytime I stray from that it goes wrong...but the few times I've ordered jumpers/shirts etc that are basic it is always good.

Bloss - congrats on sale...have fun tonight.

Carcifio - glad coat is a hit.

off to find Outnet links.

rufus101 · 05/10/2010 19:26

God, that's awful Carciofi, how frightening. Doesn't bear thinking about. I really wouldn't mind my flight being directed for that. A friend was on a flight recently to Europe and someone arrested. There was frantic calls for a Dr on board (not that they'd be able to do anything without any kit), then my friend asked if the plane was being diverted, air steward replied that it wasn't. Obviously the poor guy was RIP, therefore no sense in diverting.

Have a great night Bloss, am envying the eye candy of the rugby club. This this skirt from phase eight arrived today, it took long enough. Ordered a week ago. It's nice. Good for work.

hellsbelles · 05/10/2010 19:31

forgot to say - I have to go to a dinner/dance (ugghhh)...and don't want to buy something new. The dress code is cocktail - is this o.k McQ dress - it used to look rather sexy! Now it's more elegant (as I've lost a few curves.

hellsbelles · 05/10/2010 19:38

now I've checked the order it all looks very boring and probably wrong! Rather 'office junior!'

very exx - but is cashmere

hopefully useful basic grey

grey blazer

boring black skirt

carciofi · 05/10/2010 19:38

Rufus, that is awful. A few of the other passengers complained but my friend was too distressed about her daughter to take any notice. Anyway, back to lighter topics! Nice skirt and Bloss, had a look at your boots, they look like a great buy.

carciofi · 05/10/2010 19:43

Hells, love the dress. What shoes will you wear? I can't open the cashmere link but the rest of the clothes look good for work.

eshermummy · 05/10/2010 19:47

DOLCEE - one last biker boot for you. I popped into a local shop and saw these in the black and they were lovely and I thought of you immediately here. They were only £195 in my local shop thought iirc so let me know if you are interested and I will give you the details. Think they have just started internet delivery, free P&P.......

notyummy · 05/10/2010 19:48

Hells - I remember that dress from before. Tis lovely! And I love the look of that cashmere dress.

hellsbelles · 05/10/2010 20:10

you are both being very kind about the outnet links but I fear I have made some errors in my 'basics' strategy. I realise that - as I am now dreading rather than anticipating the delivery Grin..back to taking risks.

NY - good memory -I've had it since last year. I have some black heels that should work with it - I think.

MarshaBrady · 05/10/2010 20:12

Oh no Hells don't dread it. I love the stuff, especially the cashmere dress.

eshermummy · 05/10/2010 20:21

Hells - I too am trying to be wiser with my Outnet purchases as far too often DHL is the only party coming off well out of my transactions!
Of my recent jeans order I am planning on keeping these and possibly these in black. Not sure if they are the "Fritzi " jeans or not but I like them as are not low cut and very skinny. Oddly am thinking of getting different sizes as the black appears to come up smaller Confused.
I have ordered and sent back that Adam skirt in the past - it was nice but I couldn't get the fit to work on me (too big on waist vs hips) but I always have that problem with pencil skirts - just don't think they work on my body Sad

Tracey - glad you are back but am gutted you won't be at meet-up. I am hoping to come but it all depends on DH's deal - it is due to announce on Fri 15th but if the timetable slips it will scupper the w/e......Angry

I think Bunny and Choo were hoping to join us too??

Vin - glad your ds is feeling better.

Hope you are having a wonderful evening Bloss Smile.

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 20:29

sorry hells haven't worn for a full day yet - but will let you know after tomorrow as i think I will wear them to the funeral Sad

eshermummy · 05/10/2010 20:29

Marsha - any luck with the gold brogues? Wink
I was all set to do a quick Primarni run this morning but decided to do some other chores instead. Not sure now when I will next get to pop in?

Have any of you Primarni enthusiasts actually seen the gold brogues instore? Or have I missed the boat entirely (given that the fash-mag-hag blogs are full of them I'm guessing so.....).Don't supposed anyone would snaffle e a pair in a 37 if you do see them would you....please Grin

Can someone link me to Plum's blog again please?
Last week's piece about red lipstick inspired me to dig out my old dark red lipstick which I used to love and am now re-loving (as part of evening make-up) and when I get some proper time sans enfants in which to indulge myself I want to get a new true red lipstick for winter daywear.

MarshaBrady · 05/10/2010 20:33

Esher I did spot some Dries Van Noten ones online.. hang on will find.. probably not cheap!

Have zero intention of actually going into a Primark store Grin I value my sanity over £, besides I've avoided the place so far...

traceybath · 05/10/2010 20:34

Am still waiting for my outnet parcel as wasn't in yesterday and driver didn't come back today - most annoying.

I am so annoyed can't get to meet-up but DH is working so hard that I sort of feel he needs the day off more than me. Plus puts him firmly in my debt Wink Would love to do a pre-xmas meet-up though.

So lovely to have house back to just us though. I do find house guests really hard work.

I am so not sure about what to do about boots and skinnies. Am currently wearing some black mid-calf ones which are ok but nothing special. Still like the belstaffs bt need to try them on again and they are £££ and will need to be xmas pressie from DH. Do quite fancy some ankle type ones for everyday.

Hells - they look good buys to me.

MM - hellooo! How was greece? Lovely lovely purchases.

Zembo · 05/10/2010 20:40

A bit late in the day but Bloss wishing you a very happy birthday quickly skimmed thread and sounds like you're having a lovely day.

Feel awful saying this, but I've decided not to come to the meet up and can't even blame it on my DH (as I usually do). Basically can't bear the thought of my babies being in London (for their first ever trip) and me not being with them. DH did agree to it all but would struggle with them. Thought about coming down for 2 nights but was looking really expensive. So really sorry ladies Sad, would so like to meet you all, but no can do.

Okay now that I've got that out of the way vin just to say paracetamol is (in my professional opinion) a totally amazing drug when taken at recommended doses. Glad to hear your little one has perked up after having some (see, amazing).

Rufus are you a hospital doc? what field are you in? Just being nosey, so feel free to ignore me Smile

MM lovely to have you back with a nice long post detailing your holiday purchases, have missed you Grin

MarshaBrady · 05/10/2010 20:51

I saw them here. Think they might be men's brogues as can't find them anywhere.

Plus quite like the look of the cheapo Primark ones... But not enough to go in. Wish they had delivery.

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 20:55

MM welcome back Smile

esher and Zembo wore the Belstaffs today, agree buckles a bit faffy but did enjoy wearing them despite, like esher feeling the ankle boot thing more now .. bit over jeans tucked into boots but still like it enough

(was wearing boots, Genetic denim jeans .. almost a jegging I would say, K by Karl Lagerfeld black tank and yesterday's magenta cashmere .. quite cheery)

has anyone tried the Citizens jeggings? like neoprene, so bouncy, hold everything in!! And you get the thrill of sizing a few sizes down Grin

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 21:01

one more thing - watch Jamie's 30 min meals if you can - strats next week - dh did them all

Zembo · 05/10/2010 21:09

Which Citizens jeggings Cake. Glad you enjoyed the Belstaffs. I know what you mean about the whole jeans tucked into boots thing - the look has been around for so long now, another reason for me to wear my belstaffs loads this year, will probably be totally over it by next.
