Bring on the jeggings! Thanks Vin - although sorry to hear that DS was poorly again.

Wow - am nearly tempted by the £3 brogues - about the same price as the magazine I just bought....

roary · 06/10/2010 18:16

Vino are your paige jeggings still looking for a home?

RG I thought the crops looked too good to be true. PLum I like the look of the gap ones and may go in after the sale is done (they are full price and the store is mad). Also loving your blog - I went to a really terrible spa here and was clearly the first victim for the beautician's bikini wax. It got so bad I had to ask her to stop because I was worried she was going to tear out chunks of flesh. I had to soak the wax off in the bath.

Bloss did you wear your Bec dress yesterday (again?) and happy birthday!

FritziGreenEyes · 06/10/2010 18:47

I've just discovered that Frankfurt has now a Primark, not surprisingly in a rather rough part of town. Let's see if I'm brave enough to get a pair of silver Brogues. Thanks for the tip re skirt ollie.

DD just had major meltdown at bedtime (It's already half past seven here). Went to a friend's house after kindergarten and stayed too long I think. As DH is away I will indulge in Grey's Anatomy followed by Private Practice and a glass of wine.

DH feels guilty for neglecting us over work while we were in London last week and wants to spoil me for my birthday in November. I would love a fabulous bag. Going to log onto NAP now Grin.

hf128219 · 06/10/2010 19:26

Plum Love the blog. And glad you found the Gold Brogues - I also trawled Primarni on Wembley High Road, but to no avail!

Bloss Great boots.

PlumSykes · 06/10/2010 19:35

Right, many stories read and 2 children in bed. I really must sort out the Boden order that's cluttering up the hall. Two pairs fo jeans I can't evne be bothered to try on, Lord knows why I ordered them. Even the stuff for the DCs is a bit disappointing. Only thing I love is car design jumper for the baby. DD's dresses really poor quality jersey. May keep these ballet flats for me, as they were so cheap. Am waiting on some other stuff from them for the DCs, hope that will be a bit more exciting.

Also need to decide whether or not to keep the minky brown M&S books. Any thoughts?

What devastating news about your friend Blossoming. Your birthday lunch outfit sounds exactly right, and I'm coveting those boots. LOL at your pedicure story, and your massage story NY So funny.
Am going to get myself to Primark, am rather liking the brouges.
Fritzi like the sound of that evening, even though I love those programmes, I spend my whole time scoffing at the antics!
Zembo sent you a message!

rufus101 · 06/10/2010 19:40

I'd keep them Plum, saw them in RL and liked them, but didn't have in my size. I got these in dark brown Am a bit Shock as I've never bought a pair of M/S foot gloves before. Is it a slippery slope? As someone on here has said previously "will I start eyeing up Per Una next?"(Eek!)

eshermummy · 06/10/2010 19:48

Plum you are an absolute star!!!! I can't believe they were £3, I am sure the postage will be about double that!
Hmmm, so how shall we do this?
Are you on FB? Are you friends with LTEC? If you drop me a hint as to who you are I could msg you through FB and get your details with which to send some funds.
I will try and get into my local Primarni and see if they have any silver in a 5 for you. (Am muchos taken with the idea of silver myself......)
I think you said you weren't going to be at meet-up didn't you?

DH is going to be Shock when he sees them I'm sure Grin

LOL at "handstitched italian leather" btw.

Dolcee - am soooo pleased you like the boots. Run into Shoon and check them out in rl and if you decide to go for it order from here. £30 cheaper and free delivery - plus I shop here lots and I find they are v helpful and accommodating.

Bunny - yay to Nanny!!!! How many weeks are you now?

carciofi · 06/10/2010 19:49

Blossoming, that is awful about the baby.

Fritzi, I love bags! What are you thinking of?

Rufus, do you ever go to Pangaea in Sutton? It is a lovely place. My friend owns it.

Plum, I like them, they are quite Vivienne Westwood-ish.

Citizens have some fab jeans and cords for winter. I want about 3 different pairs. Shame they are so expensive!

hellsbelles · 06/10/2010 19:50

oh gosh - I can't keep up! Bloss I really love those boots - they have all the best bits of mine but without the annoying wide gap at the top Envy

Plum they look like a very good rip off of the vivienne westwood pirate boot (which is ridiculously more expensive)...and that style has been a classic for ages. So I would think they are keepers.

Bunny - welcome back!

LTEC - outfit sounded just right.

I have meatballs to make and my favourite The Apprentice to watch! I may be gone for a while.

PlumSykes · 06/10/2010 19:57

Don't even joke, Rufus, I also tried this cropped tux jacket, and loved it, liked the look of this silk dress, and may yet buy this kimono shape cardi.

I've seen into the future, rufus, and I was wearing this skirt!

Saw lady in town today wearing your belstaffs Esher/Zembo/LTEC and they looked fab. In the interests of reporting back I stared at her quite hard and she was wearing them with black very thick leggings and a very lovely coat.

Well done Plum on the brogues and loving your blog.

Have ds2's parent's evening tomorrow and then going out for dinner afterwards.

Esher - how's your diet going? I just can't seem to get motivated and really do need to lose a few lbs as all my clothes just feel a bit wrong.

Think am going to impose a shopping ban until I am the weight I want to be.

notyummy · 06/10/2010 20:03

Those ladies who are coming to the meet-up - I just a quick look at the Wolseley website which I think is where was suggested (which looks lovely btw) and they have an online booking facility. At the moment they are showing fully booked for afternoon tea, and are unable to book lunch online for that date, although the site implies you may be able to over the phone.

What do you all think?

What are the numbers? Think around 6? Has anyone been there and could put a word in with the staff?? Grin

eshermummy · 06/10/2010 20:51

Plum - have msged you.

Tracey - LOL at you giving Belstaffs woman a hard staring-to Grin Wore Belstaffs today with leggings and liked them more. I also think they will look v nice with my navy blue military buttoned coat - but still too warm here for a proper winter coat. Only waterproofs required.
Diet has died a death somewhat. Am still trying to not eat lots of rubbish (biscuits are my downfall) esp in the evenings. Have eaten a lot of porridge. Weighed self yest and was 7 stone 11 so have dropped a couple of lbs. Would love to get down to 7 stone 7 but everytime I think about it I have a voice like the scary voiceover thread from "Fame" in my head :
"You want Fame 7 stone 7. Well, Fame 7 stone 7 costs ...and right here's where you start paying." And then I sort of can't be bothered Blush
I have a particular pair of Paul & Joe sister jeans which look great at 7 stone 7 and it was the fact that they didn't really fit anymore that got me all depressed in the first place but I have now dealt with this by relegating them to the back of the wardrobe and buying some new James skinnies!
I have been going to the gym 2 x week for the last 3 weeks (although not this week Blush) which I think has helped plus am back to rushing around a lot after the dd's /expending lots of nervous energy so think metabolism is burning more off again compared with relaxed summer lethargy!

Zembo · 06/10/2010 20:52

Thanks for your message Rufus and forgive my noseyness (is that a word?)

Tracey I really like my belstaffs, worth the faff of putting them on for me - taking them to the farm tomorrow Smile I've worn with my new J Brand cords and they were fine, but I do have slim calves.

LTEC you okay? Been thinking about you Sad

Can't stop need to tidy up before my uber glam friend (with the immaculate house) comes for lunch tomorrow Grin

Zembo · 06/10/2010 20:55

No idea what I weigh, but might be the same as you Esher and I'm a good few inches shorter than you (so you must look v slim) Will try and get myself weighed and report back!

rufus101 · 06/10/2010 20:59

Yes I do Carciofi ! Is Keelin a friend of yours? I never get facials or massages though. I am very much of the "must see immediate result", therefore eyelash tinting, threading, fake tan (rarely), and shape and file. I get very restless, with the whole hand massage, foot soaking etc Very like you Plum!

happilyeverafter · 06/10/2010 21:16

Thinking of you and your poor friends cake

My IO order came today. Cosy is lovely but huge. I ordered a M and think maybe should size down to S. Love the sleeve length and body length but there is lots of overlap at the front. Maybe I will like this though...

The pegs are not what I expected. The fabric is a lovely very thick jersey. The waist is fab and fits perfectly on waist and hip ( unheard of on me) however the thighs are not as baggy as Id imagined so its more of a tregging, neat fitting all the way down, not tight but slim and the hem isn't quite wide enough to sit over my shoes a little so it bunches up.

I was expecting a more relaxed fit in the thigh and for them to slop a little lower over my shoes like the gorgeous Cos ones the stylist has on 'wearing it today'

Can't decide whether to keep or not, will be limited to hip length tops or anything shorter I look hippy with them being fitted on the thighs.

On a happy note my bargain ebay 7s arrived today, first pair of boot cuts I have tried and the 29 are a perfect fit, just the right snugness.

Apologies for long self self self post but am flapping about the pegs!

Fleecy · 06/10/2010 21:36

happily thanks so much for all the shoes - they arrived today and are all wonderful. I explained to DH that they were actually a bargain so it's okay that I bought four pairs all at once Grin

ltec hope you're feeling okay after crappy day

ny I never go anywhere so don't know a soul with useful pull-strings-and-get-us-a-table connections I'm afraid.

I also thought the M&S boots look like pirate boots. I was considering getting myself some pirate boots with my Christmas money. Which colour do people think is best?

Am Shock at 7st7 but that's because I'm 5ft8 so wouldn't be a good look for me Smile

blossoming · 06/10/2010 21:57

My governors meeting lasted 2 1/2 hours. I came home freezing and hungry. And annoyed to miss shredding.

notyummy, I could give them a call tomorrow if you like?

carciofi · 06/10/2010 22:11

Rufus, yes, she is a good friend since we were in our teens.

OllieWollieWoo · 06/10/2010 22:16

Well, can now officially say I have given up any pretence at being young & hip. Just back from a Tupperware party - and even worse, have signed up to host one in January (it was the thought of receiving this cheese grater thingy as a hostess gift that tempted me!) Was Shock at some of the prices - but even more so at one of the other guests who spent 400 euros!!!!!!!!! (I spent 17.95e on a box thing that keeps strawberries etc fresh in the fridge!)

Plum - i love the M&S dress.

notyummy · 06/10/2010 22:17

Blossoming - Boo to the long cold governors meeting! Well done for taking on the role though. My DH was a governor at the secondary school where we used to live and really enjoyed it. They seemed really involved - observing teachers lessons to give them feedback, and interviewing for appointments and promotions. I think a few of them regretted involving a steely eyed, 'dont pull the punches' military man...Grin

Would great if you could call, yes.

notyummy · 06/10/2010 22:18

Just finished watching the Apprentice.

I think the same thing every year...what a bunch of tw&ts. And then I end up watching the next episode...
