Ciao belle

Haven't read through the hundred posts I have missed but did see Tracey can't make meet up which has made me a bit Sad.

I am back from my travels and am drowning under the pile of washing and unpacking from 2 weeks in Greece and a long weekend in Italia.

I am only popping in quickly but had to share a few purchases with you all from Bologna (perfect for a weekend's shopping) I bought these while dp engaged in some serious shopping in Belstaff and came away with a jacket, coat, boots and a weekend bag Shock. They are really comfortable and feel more special than the others I'd been looking at. While in the shop I fell head over heels in love with these. In rl they are actually a really dark blue colour. They fit my calves perfectly and I tried them with dark skinnies and they looked great. I went back and tried them 4 times Blush and did think of swapping the motorbike boots for them but they're nowhere near as practical. I am half thinking about abandoning my search for black boots and getting them for Christmas. Should I?

I still need some long flat black boots though I think. I tried these on in Italy and they looked lovely but didn't have my size in the black and now I can't find them anywhere. I've had a look at the Ash remix studded boots instead but am not as smitten and now must track these down.

Got dd some lovely bits in Petit Bateau including a cool bright yellow mac which she won't take off. I got a beautiful dark navy cashmere dress with an envelope neck with a few buttons either side. It's so soft and I think it will be a wardrobe staple this winter. I can't find it on their website to link to. What colour tights should I wear with it? Is it ok to wear a navy dress with black tights or boots or should I go for navy tights (spied some nice Falke ones)?

Are any of you familar with Carla G? I got some lovely bits in there including some beautiful grey soft trousers and a dove grey cashmere roll neck.

Sisley always has some good basics and I got some great dark beige/camel skinny combats, a grey wool button roll neck dress/jumper and few plain roll necks.

Max & Co had some beautiful "pieces" including this coat was stunning in rl and made me stop in my tracks when I walked into the shop. I didn't get it (I am not a fur fan) but looked so lovely.

I tried on a lovely blouse in Max Mara in a kind of gingery colour but they didn't go up to a size big enough for my post bf chest Sad. They have some beautiful things in and the stunning shop assistants played with dd while I sipped a glass of prosecco and browsed. Pretty close to my idea of heaven.

Right, off to look at some of the links.

blossoming · 05/10/2010 16:17

Yes, have made almost £200 pounds on the Jimmy Choo boots and another dress and 2 more things to go. So very pleased to have those unwise and expensive, what the hell was I thinking, who do I think I am.. boots out of the way. No longer eyeing me up in the wardrobe every day.
So next I'll be down the rugby club eyeing up the talent, and then at 7.05 precisely, I shall be opening the prosecco followed by the red wine.

notyummy, fleecy, everything, shall I book? Under what name? Do we need another email account?

monkeysmama · 05/10/2010 16:25

I forgot to add that I plan to be at the meet up though I am not sure what time/venue has been agreed.

blossoming · 05/10/2010 16:44

Great to have you back monkeysmama. Will look at your lovely links later. Meet up was Wolseley at 2pm if that suits everyone.

vinvinoveritas · 05/10/2010 17:02

love the links monkeysmama- really liking those black/blue boots you linked to- they look perfect! All the other 'pieces' sound wonderful

Blossoming happy birthday!!!

DS (9mo)is still feverish, have invested in calpol (hate the stuff but have only given half a sachet). It was up to 40.8/9 C last night Shock but is down to 39 today, and he seems quite bright in himself- has just eaten cake nutritious organic baby food Grin. If it goes up again I will call/take him somewhere but I have a bad bad personal experience of local GP/hospital so don't want to do anything unnecessary, if I thought it were necessary I'd take him to KCHospital, but fingers crossed he is fine. Phew!

Will have a look at messages now

MM am swooning at all your lovely links. Have complete boot envy! There seem to be so many nice pairs around this A/W, there have been times, when (can't actually believe this) when I haven't seen any that meet my exacting standards, and made no winter boot purchases!
Vin no harm in a bit of calpol, much worse to end up with a febrile convulsion (one of my nightmare scenarios, that I go into catastrophic thinking about). My DB who is a GP, used to insist I'd have the rectal paediatric diazepam in my medicine cabinet, when mine were that age. Fortunately never had to use it.
Can't make the meet up and am very envious of you all.

2pm ok with me - am fairly flexible although will have to leave London at 7 30 latest. Hoping to catch Cake before I go - although I know there was also talk of another meet up nearer Xmas to say farewll before she haeds to the southern hemisphere!

carciofi · 05/10/2010 19:00

I am going to be in Dublin on the 16th so will have to make the Christmas meet up instead.

MM, great shopping. I got a navy dress from the White Co, I am going to wear it with navy tights.

I don't go anywhere without Calpol. My friend's DD went into febrile seizures on a flight from the US. The flight had to be diverted to Newfoundland. They weren't popular with the other passengers but her dd was fine.

I had a place confirmed for dd to start at a lovely little nursery school nearby but they called today to say that they made a mistake and don't have a place for her until next Sept. :( I've even paid the deposit. It's annoying.

vinvinoveritas · 05/10/2010 19:03

yeah I'm a bit weird, calpol scares me more Shock I think I need some CBT I catastrophise quite a bit- eg calpol=liver failure=irreversible, convulsion=seizure management=hopefully better outcome, maybe not. Anyway, having given calpol he's much better now; he is trashing the place in usual form!
Enough of the virtual psychobabble from me. Yes yangy 'fraid I am - quite a few SE London mums on this thread [I keep a watch out for LTEC and monkeysmama as I wander down the street but no-one has been stylish enough for me to yell 'oi! ltec!/monkeys' at them.. probably a good thing]

carciofi · 05/10/2010 19:04

P.S. Have fun tonight Bloss.
This coat arrived, nice on and good for this weather.
