Glad you're doing okay VIn. Yes, the toughest part in a decision is to come down on a side. Sometimes I just "pick a side", then if I feel automatically relieved, I know it was the right one.
If you use the proenamel sensodyne toothpaste for 2 weeks after using whitening strips really helps.

On my wishlist for A/W is a pair of brown, clunky boots with comfortable heel.
Statement bag (Years since I got one)
Another pair of J Brand skinnies.
A fabulous dress.
Boring work clothes. (BooHiss)
Have the camel coat (bought 3 seasons ago in Max Mara and never worn as I was pregnant/post pregnant and not feeling svelte enough.

RedBlueRed · 12/08/2010 20:19

Bonsoir!

Ooooh I have had the most lovely holiday.

Flew out of Carcassonne this afternoon leaving behind a large dent in France's wine stocks and my darling DS! Grin
Apparently the forecast is overcast for a while so I don't feel so bad coming back to miserable british weather however, I am considering a 2-3 year plan which involves a 'French for business use' evening class and a move to Paris as the company I have just joined have an office there... or maybe I'm just dreaming!

I did put in a little work on finding that ageing millionaire to perhaps marry... approx 70 plus (check) fairly loaded (check) available (unfortunately not, I met Medame and she was a delight and even if she wasn't; married men are certainly not on my list of things to do before I die). Back to square one.

I hope everyone is well!

As usual I have a lot to catch up on here...am off for a read of the previous thread now!

RedBlueRed · 12/08/2010 20:29

Bollocks! I started that post earlier this evening and then hit post message without previewing.
Vinovino, if my memory serves you have found that your bastard DH has been cheating on you so my comment about checking out a wea;thy older man to marry is just a bit bloody crass. I'm so good at crass I ought to be able to make a living out of it.

I'm sorry a hundred times over. Blush

OllieWollieWoo · 12/08/2010 20:38

Not had time to catch up with the posts but visited an open air museum today with sister and the kids and there was a clog making workshop. I saw these and thought of you all - W&A clogs Dutch style! here

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 12/08/2010 20:52

Evening.

Dolcee do you mind sharing the house links? I love looking at houses!

Verity I think the 5'9 size 8 model looks fat in the asos tie waist cape so not sure how it will look on an ordinary mortal as lovely as I am sure you are!

fritzi your coat sounds lovely but if you don't think it's flattering then you won't be confident wearing it so it won't suit you IYSWIM

carciofi glad your DKNY cozy is a keeper. Like the denim skirt.

rufus that belstaff jacket does look lovely! What type of statement bag?

eie enjoy Vintage at Goodwood, very jealous. Like the Asos leather lace up boots, if only they were grey.

zembo loving the Little London sale, wish I had somewhere to wear this gorgeous thing

Would likes for A/W
Pair of shoes like the M&S boots but with no heel.
Cashmere travel wrap (in my dreams)
A consulation with House of Colour before I buy anything post-pregnancy. I think according to online I am an autumn. Which I think means I should suit the masses of camel colour stuff out there.

Fel1x · 12/08/2010 20:54

Evening Smile

I have hijacked DH's computer to catch up with you all.
Thanks for the comments on my thread of last night re DS and his mad cap antics Grin Blush its lovely to know I have been missed. I have missed you all on this thread too and will endeavor to keep up a bit better from now on! I have been on MN less recently due to laptop dying and only being able to access via my phone - its not the same!!

Hf glad you are back and lovely news re DH being home for so long

Notyummy great thread title!

Fleecy I like the military style cape better I think

Everything vintage sounds great! I like the first boots you linked to, can imagine wearing them myself (if i didnt already ahve FAR too many boots!!)

What is this poncho you are all speaking of? Can I have a link please? Sounds fab!

I am off shopping tomorrow for DS's school uniform. He will have a blazer, tie, proper shirt etc. Cant wait to see him all dressed up. Will be so gorgeous!

Fel1x · 12/08/2010 20:57

oh and have fallen in love with these boots from the little london sale link.

I ahve the last pair in my basket, but in a size too big...shall I, just in case they fit??? or is that silly??

vinovino · 12/08/2010 21:18

OWW amazing clogs! tracey needs to visit you Grin

Cain please don't say sorry!! Your post made me really laugh!! Glad you had a lovely holiday. I wisftully dream of a fabulous apartment in Paris packed with excellent shoes, isabel marant, great art and a few wealthy older men [joke]

rufus thanks for tip, was v painful!

Am currently on quest for the perfect bright red lipstick, nothing I have tried is just right. Fancy turning all gwen stefani and wearing lipstick every day for a week or two

vinovino · 12/08/2010 21:20

ah x-posts

so many pretty things on little london..

nooooo!

Zembo · 12/08/2010 21:28

Hi Fel1x, this is the poncho wore it to the farm this afternoon with navy hunters Grin

Love the little london links.

Libra I've learnt to buy things I really like as and when I see them even if no immediate need and then I try to create the occassion Grin

cain holiday sounds amazing!

RedBlueRed · 12/08/2010 21:44

Thank goodness you replied Vinovino! I was starting to cringe with shame and was checking back compulsively. Arrrgh!
I'm pleased to have made you laugh.

My mother and I visited the Goya museum in Castre while I was over (we always try to do a little 'Lunch 'n' Kulcha' when we get together - a bonding session which is easier now we are both grown women and perhaps, mothers.) Was lovely but not the best collection - a lot of the black work. Never the less, worth seeing.

Felix, what are thick woolly socks for if not big boots?

mrsjuan · 12/08/2010 21:47

Lovely poncho - bet you looked great at the farm zembo Grin

Glad you're back vin and on track to sorting things out- have been thinking about you.

Cain - sounds like you had a great time

Bunny - the tooth whitening thing sounds like a good deal for London - there is a place round here advertising it for £100 I think - I am always a bit concerned about the long term effects of these things but definitely something to look into.

My wishlist for A/W:

navy coat
cashmere jumper
houlilikeys (will try NY's)
woolly (but not itchy) dress
tights
the perfect pair of jeans (have been searching for these for nearly 20 years so don't think I'll find them any time soon)
A cardigan that's a bit like the white company poncho but maybe belted.

Am signing off now for a couple of weeks as we're going to my parents' for a bit and then on holiday.

Hope you all keep well and enjoy your holidays.

Quick post as In-laws are here - but no DH; he is still away at work!!

Vin - great to hear from you!

*Fel1x - welcome back to our well dressed bosoms...

MrsJ - Enjoy your time away.

Cain - Glad you had a great holiday. Would love to visit Carcassone.

LTEC - Heelloooo! Where are you?! Hope the work thing went ok,

OP posts:
Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 07:43

zembo that is a good approach the problem is my weight fluctuates so much it would be dependent on the right occasion at the right weight :)

felix buy them you can always send them back..

MrsJuan enjoy your holiday.

Quick flick thru the Brora catalogue whilst having a cup of tea this morning and I would like this A/W

Felt trilby, they really suit me

Fine strpey cartouche, colour dependent on colour analysis of course

these are really cute

Cashmere hoody in cranberry, because I'm a sucker for a hoody. Of course if anyone actaully bought me a hand-wash only £295 hoody I would think they were bonkers

Now these I am seriously considering, grey pixie boots. I would have preferred leather over the winter but these might do the trick.

Liking the trim on these, remind me of the jigsaw ones but in a winter version

They didn't manage to convince me that bum bugs are back in however. I sometimes get the impression that Boden is for people who can't afford (or justify) Brora...

Does anyone know if Brora have a sale before there post Christmas one?

Off to PiL today.

littledawley · 13/08/2010 07:54

Hello ladies, I only post on this thread from time to time but love reading it.

I am a very lucky girl- DH has bought me this and these. I'm not sure about them though so my questions are:
are they too matchy, matchy?
Is the grey right for next season, if so, what should I be wearing them with?
Should I swap the bag for an Alexa which I would really like?

notyummy · 13/08/2010 07:58

Like those boots Libra. Am feeling Blush as I thought a cartouche was some sort of egyptian stone tablet...

Tracey- hope ds has a good birthday.

PIL currently entertaining dd in their bedroom so j can lie in bed and mm in peace. Dh back at lunchtime.

Have a good day everyone.

OP posts:
notyummy · 13/08/2010 08:00

Dawley- both the pics are the same ( very nice pics but not sure exactly what two 'pieces' you are linking to!)

OP posts:
Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 08:04

oh bollocks Isabella Oliver has 33% off today and I'm so impressed with the tops I got for pregnancy (leggings were long but too baggy) am tempted to get some long sleeve t-shirts in the extra long size for post-pregnancy.

little things are only matchy matchy if you wear them together! If you love both pieces keep and wear seperately (which is what I would do) but if you would rather the Alexa then at the price I think my DH would rather I said look I love the thought but could I swap it for.....
Can't tell you if grey is right for next season as am more of a loving clothes rather than knowing what is in fashion person.
i LOVE those boots.

littledawley · 13/08/2010 08:04

Sorry - Daria medium hobo in drizzle and Postmans Lock ankle boots in drizzle.

notyummy · 13/08/2010 08:09

Dawley- they are lovely. As Libra says, only matchy if worn together. Grey fine for next season- military thing still big and seen lots of grey pieces as part of that in the mags.

But tbh, when it comes to colour I wear what I like and what suits me, and thumb my nose at the stylists!

OP posts:
Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 08:13

This is a bargain at 33% off £55

DolceeBanana · 13/08/2010 08:44

Morning!

Happy Birthday to Tracey's little one - H!!!

Libra - sorry, would feel awkward about house pics! Will describe in detail for you to imagine though! I love houses too!

Dawley- lucky you! Love both pieces but would definitely not wear ensemble...I always turn any badges/labels inwards too! Like to be understated....Love the colour drizzle..... Sounds a bit like an F & B paint chart!

monkeysmama · 13/08/2010 09:08

V quick post from me - it's my birthday and am
heading out for a day of fun with mum, dd & sis before dinner with dp. Wearing my asos houlilikies, tan clogs (eBay Kurt Geiger), ancient dark green long sleeve jumper. And a big smile. I am the proud owner of a post commander leather jacket. It's lovely! Off to open the prosecco Grin.

Happy celebrating to the TB household too!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 09:10

Oh jealous emoticon Envy

Have a fantastic day monkeysmama
